      Your hands aren't solar panels. Different surface = different methods of cleaning. Plus soap voids your or customers warranty. Go read the warranty

    So brushes won't damage the reflecting coating on surface but slippery soap will 🤔🤔

      And a rotating brush won't scratch the glass either. I've seen some of them that don't even rinse the panels before they start brushing away.
      Rain works for me. It's been a couple of years since I last cleaned mine. When I do I use plain water, and a micro fiber head that has hundreds of little tendrils all over it. It gets sprayed off well before I move to the next panel. I rinse with distilled water usually collected from the AC units. No spots and it's free. Or buy a couple of jugs of distilled water for a rinse. Don't squeegee them either because of scratches.
      It's criminal what people are charging people to clean panels. Then they try to get them into a 90 day or 6 month service plan. They also promise crazy claims like a 40% increase. I have never seen any increase cleaning my panels. Which is why I stopped. I'm also logging data with Solar Assistant so I can see any differences since it saves everything. I can compare today to yesterday or even today to last year or more back. Handy to judge any problems or degradation

    dont you wana use soap and microfiber to encapsulate and trap dirt before going in with a brush????????

    So all the chemicals made specifically for solar panels don't work?

  • @RayDe-n8h
    @RayDe-n8h 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    100% CORRECT. Well said. Only clean them when needed not necessary unless they are really dirty. The rain is best.

      Let me tell you as someone who cleans thousands of panels, the rain is not the best. Waterfed pole with pure water only. That's it. That's the only way

    You forgot to add that using soap can most certainly void the warranty of the solar panels

  • @Garthbrooks4756

    So when you spray soap on a house to clean it, that soap sticks and encourages dirt to stick?

    • @dawniechi5671
      @dawniechi5671 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. You could alternatively use a pressure washer. However, it is slightly different since the dirt that gets on solar pannels will affect them way more regardless of how much dirt is on it. Even minor dirt can begin to negatively affect them. Having that minor dirt on your house isn't much of a bother for anyone.

    • @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509
      @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dawniechi5671 nooooo! Pressure washer will damage them and put you at risk of electrocution! Stop treating solar panels like other things. They are not the same

  • @brandonn6099

    So wash off the film
    DUURRRRRRR
    I smell my glasses after washing them, no soap

    • @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509
      @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And that will leave hard water on the panel which will damage it and reduce efficiency. That's why a professional only uses a waterfed pole

    • @brandonn6099
      @brandonn6099 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509 I 100% guarantee you that soap is more gentle than not using soap. It's a surfactant. It encapsulates the dust so as not to scratch. Just blow off the panels after to get rid of any water spots.

    • @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509
      @thegadgetemporiumaustralia8509 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brandonn6099 nope. Wrong. Soap causes more dirt to stick to the soap particles plus it voids the warranty instantly. Read your warranty and you'll see no chemicals are allowed unless authorised by the manufacturer. The only two chemical companies in the world who have that authorisation are Chemitek and one other I can't remember their name.
      Soaps are not recommended due to reasons above. This is why I do what I do. We have a long way to go to educate people on the correct way to clean solar panels.
      Solar panel cleaning is NOT window cleaning. The two cannot be treated the same. No it's just not glass you can soap up and squeegee or rinse off. Very different surfaces.

      Read the fine print. Most manufacturer tell you NOT to use soaps on solar panel because the panels have 5 to 7 layers of film on it to help proetect it from weathering. But if you don't clean solar panels, you don't know a lot of things. I have been cleaning solar panels since 2014. No manufacturer will tell you to use soap on your system, only people trying to upsell you falsely!!!@BrentBrent-zl4pr
