Hey Scot, I think the recent generals update for Empire Clash would be really good for story telling purposes as it allows for more structured battles with names and formations actually being produced on the map. They haven't yet updated private servers for the new update but when they do I think you should fully utilize it.
I would spend twice as much as your average Lego video budget for my army yet I am broke so my army contains 15 Germans and 3 homemade soviets 😭 at least it’s something
