Why is everyone super thanks disabled? I just watched Justin Brown video on super thanks. Yet the super thanks on his channel isn't there. On his channel he showed how to donate by donating here on this video using super thanks. This video and channel also no longer have the super thanks option.
Nice overview!! Full disclosure: last time we moved, we didn't even use moving blankets... 😅 Or, maybe we rented them from U-Haul? Either way, I'm unlikely to invest into those right away, but your advice is still valuable even if just as a matter of general education about sound (and lighting) 💖
Hey A+ Russian! Thank you for the kind words! I won't tell about the moving blankets for moving (Ironically I don't use them for that either LOL!) I am glad you found this valuable! I want to help people find other ways to improve their audio and video and I know these moving blankets are an affordable way to do so!
Thanks for the vid. If I want to change the color of a moving blanket, like by hanging something else over it, will that reduce the sound improvements? Does the surface of the moving blanket pay a large role in the sound changes?
It would depend what you put over it honestly. However, I think you SHOULD be fine, but of course hard for me to konw exactly. Sorry I can't give more specific of an answer then that... :(
Could I hang up moving blankets to block sound coming from a noisy neighbor? Might be tricky to hang up in an apartment situation but I would like to try.
They won’t block sound coming in and out of the room, just help the echo and reverb in the room. They will dampen some, but not sound proof. I have them in my apartment with command hooks, and have had no problem with them after two moves! I hope this helps, and I hope you have a happy new year!
I’m in a suite with no ceiling it’s like an open ceiling concept & that is the only thing I hate about it because I can hear everything. Would this help with hearing everything around me if I hang it across my ceiling?
This would block some sound but it’s more for absorption IN the room not outside. Sound panels (not acoustic foam) might work but hard to know for sure sadly :(
Hi Andrew great video! Question, will the moving blankets prevent my neighbors from hearing me if I place it on the wall that I share with them? This is my dilemma in my TH-cam room for filming they can hear everything
Well I actually have a sound treated studio so i don’t necessarily need those, although being able to change the size of a room with moving panels is something that I’d really like to do at some point (when I’ll have a bigger space though haha). Cool video man. The biggest problem in an untreated room is bass frequecies though. U need bass traps for that 🙂
The inside as explained in the video it's designed a bit more for protection. A sound blanket has even more links in the description. It's not going to work the same as you asked 😄
I hung up around my apartment and it blocks like sounds from outside, like people talking, or cars going by, it's good for like talking on phones or watching TV, and will block from going out, I jus hung up 3 ,one in the middle, around my living room and room, it looks cool , but great video
I create and sell adult audios that I don't want others to hear while I'm recording them, especially my roommate. Will my roomie be able to hear me talking into a microphone if I hang these up? Thank you.
Hi Claire! It will not sound proof, just help the sounds in a room. I can't gurantee they won't hear it, but it will help the sound not be as echoey or loud. I hope that helps!

Awesome video Andrew - love your work!
Thank you so much Justin! I appreciate the superchat and hope to see you soon 😊

It might be region dependant. Where in the world are you based?

I use the blankets. I need a couple more, I think. Thanks for breaking this down properly.
Hello Scully's House of Thrillers thank you! I really enjoy them, and they can help a ton with sound!
Hi Andrew - love the blankets!
Hello Doug Hewson YT Thank you so much for the super thanks! Moving blankets are so useful loving your gear channel!
Moving blankets are by FAR the best things you can get for the money. At least temporarily until i can afford to build a control booth.

So glad you used the recording of candy store for the broadway example
Hahaha I love Broadway, and was too excited when I was doing this video to include that example 😄
@@AndrewK so good! I bought the stuff with your affiliate link
@@freyafoxmusic thank you so much! I see you do music! Could you link your favorite song you've made?

It will help muffle and help reflect echo but not stop all sounds.

Agreed and if you're shooting outside, or in a place you don't own/ can't put things up. Moving blankets are a great choice 😁
Thank you so much!
You're welcome! Happy I was able to help! Will you be using Moving Blankets? :)
A normal cotton quilted blanket will work the same? Or they have to be moving blankets
I would recommend moving blankets due to the materials in them.
@@AndrewK what have the moving blanket different from a cotton quilted blanket?
The inside as explained in the video it's designed a bit more for protection. A sound blanket has even more links in the description. It's not going to work the same as you asked 😄
A quilted blanket will work fine…the thicker the better cotton also has absorption properties which is in most quilted blankiesss.

Thank you! Yeah it's mostly to control sounds in the room :)
Interesting!!! I have a very odd space and I'm wondering it that would work....hmmmm.????
I like them a lot and I love I can take them down and put them up
Brilliant!
Thank you! If you have them just outside of frame they can help you when doing your yoga
Nice overview!
Thank you so much! I hope this helps , and are you considering moving blankets? :D
