Hey Steph, I recently came across your channel while researching the Oru Kayak. Not sure about the Oru, but I am sure about enjoying your channel, including the Greyhounds. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
As another kayaking Steph, love your content - and really want your opinion - I want a packable that flies like my favorite long, fast, hard shell, ruddered kayak. I am torn between the Oru Beach or Bay. What do you think?
If you are use to a closed cockpit kayak and are not too large, the Bay ST would be perfect! Otherwise the beach is nice (I'm actually trying it right now) but it's not as fast.
Hi Steph, I have an Oru Lake. When I paddle with friends it is hard work to keep up. If I paddle in my canoe I am way ahead of everyone. Do you find the ORU to be slower than hardshell kayaks or canoes?
I don't find it slow, but I'm a pretty fast paddler. My other friends that have tried the lake have some trouble keeping up. I personally find the Oru kayaks easy to maneuver and keep up with hardshells. But again, I think it depends on the person too.
@@smkauthor At the time, we were able to rent the small cabin/house within view of the launch. Can't remember the time, but it would have been shoulder season, spring or fall.
I've paddled the Silver River twice and lucky enough to see Manatees both times. It is cool to see them in the wild.
Love your content, Steph. Another great video.
Thanks so much!

@@smkauthor Thanks Steph. I love the Oru even if I am slowed down.
Stayed one night there, tons of mosquitoes
At the campsite? What time of year was it?
