@@nightfight3games OH! Before i forget, do you have a discord? There's one thing that we have in common: we've both only cleared one game, once, and have used continues.
dunno, 8th game still feels as the easiest at start at. Between Last Spell, lots of extra lives per continue, continues being tied into game mechanics (instead of arbitrary thing that forces bad ending when used) and being able to practice spell cards without mods, newcomer can have a firm start and improve from there
UT did take some inspiration from Touhou, ranging from easter eggs, bullet patterns to music (undynes theme has zunpets). Toby is a big Touhou fan since he was 10.
EDIT: I haven't actually watched the rest of your vids, so some of my advice was already given. Sorry. You do have a new sub tho: Me! Not bad for your first run, but there's quite a few important things you gotta get the hang of: Hold Shift to Focus. This changes your bullets into a more focused pattern, highlights your hitbox, and most importantly, slows down your movement. CRUCIAL for dodging a lot of attacks in the game. When enemy bullets hit the character model but not the hitbox, you get Graze, which is essentially extra points. There's a practice mode for all the Spell Cards you encounter, so if you get stuck on a particular one, get some training before you attempt another run. Every character has a specific playstyle, like Reimu being the consistent damage dealer with the smallest hitbox and homing bullets, while Marisa (the witch) being a glass cannon, with the biggest hitbox and lasers. The red P boxes give you Power. When your Power reaches a certain point, you get an extra stream of bullets. One for every 1.00 Power. When you get hit, you lose some, so you gotta get em back. The blue boxes are Points. Pretty obvious, but what isn't obvious is that you can go to the very top of the screen to immediately pick up all these boxes at once. Although that's usually where enemies spawn so this is where not being on Focus helps. And that's the gist of it. Some spellcards are easier than they look, but that all comes down to skill and experience. Looking forward to your next run!
Welcome to the group my friend! Also if you need help I'm here I have 1cc'd all games ;) And yes your game play is pretty terrible... And please read the mechanics of the game it's really important if you want to survive
pro tip: move less, seriously. some of the attacks are aimed at your current position. by moving a lot, these types of attack will vomit bullets all over the place. a good example is 14:49, where you basically made it harder on yourself. there are some cases where you do want a quick large "there and back" to bait and misdirect an attack, but in this case it's better to move in small bursts so the bullets just keep passing you by.
Aww, it’s a new Touhou player, how adorable. Look at how young and innocent they are. Haa, sweet summer child
Probably one of the best mainline games to start with! Overall great soundtrack, stands out in it's own unique way in reasons you have yet to see ;)
Then I am glad I chose it :D The soundtrack is honestly amazing
@@nightfight3games *cough* Beating any touhou game with no continues (the fabled 1cc) is a milestone for every new touhou player (worth it)
@@aexdeye9812 Hopefully I'll get there soon! This is only the first touhou I'm playing (I plan to play through a lot of them)

Touhou 16 is a great game to start with. It’s meant to be a “back to basics” kinda game with simple mechanics.
