Thanksgiving is an American celebration, dated from 1621 when the Plymouth Pilgrims /Quakers celebrated their first harvest with an Indian tribe . I saw that somewhere and it just stuck. You used the word dour. That made me think. Now that word was used often to describe the Scots. Looked up Ellenson. Original Yorkshire UK but moved to Scotland wayway back So as a descendant of Scots you are allowed "dour". Motto Virtute et Labore. By Valour and exertion. What ahead full of ....... Cheers.
