Now we have the complete front end for the #alfaromeo #giuliaquadrifoglio its time to start the #repair but before we can get the new front end on there is one job that needs to be done every 5 years on this car that we need to get out of the way.

Mat and Chris in one evening, the stars have alligned😂💯💯
And Saving Salvage tonight!
I'm watching their videos back to back😂
Yeeah, my two favorites chris and mat armstrong posting at the same time❤😊
Its like the Marvel Universe.
If TDC and Auto Alex posted as well it would be the greatest day ever!
And dean is brilliant .
Yeah but what to watch first?
Love the fact you clean the replacement covers instead of fitting the dirty ones and leaving them. Don't necessarily see them, but what a difference. Great content🎉
You bought the parts from Birmingham = someone in Birmingham woke up one morning to find his Alfa without its front end 😅...
lol😂
Hi Chris love your content! As a self trough basic mechanic i learned a trik from a seasoned mechanic. Hot glue a small round magnet in the bottom of your sockets so in tight spots you don’t drop the bolt. Maby you know this already just wanted to share this with you. Cheers mate and to your crew aswell! You all are a true inspiration! Thanx! 👊
Great shout
@@thepoliticalgardner euh thanx buddy 😜 grtz from 🇧🇪
My sockets are definitely getting glued up later😅
I have a '23stelvio quad, nice to see the insides. Looks like a tube salad😂. I tip my hat off to you guys making this look so easy and effortless.
Chris, with the front radar maybe buy an anti theft guard (prevents the car being stolen) and find a way to mount it to that. Would stop the car getting nicked in the future too.
JTD performance make a plate. Could save the front of this one becoming the front of the next one.
That's not entirely true, it can be stolen even with that plate :D What that does is slow them down for 30 sec :D
It's a Alfa it'll be in the unit on the ramp more than on the road
@@James-P96 think you’ve mistaken a Alfa Romeo for a Range Rover.
@@Jackfi_89 nope i definitely haven't
Chris, I beleive those radar holders are same on most cars for that particular radar. Its should be same as the golf mk7 or audi a3 8v 3 pin holder.
Another top video Chris!! Just a word of advice - our Quad was stolen so easily - it takes all of 2 seconds..! Make sure you look into theft prevention 👍
You can fit the newer triple design headlight units to the older models, completely updates the look of the car, well worth doing in my opinion. Car is looking great though, good work. I have the Veloce version, might stretch to QV one day... maybe
Small matter of them being £2k... each
Those are not single use clips! Use a small screwdriver to get in between(were the bulge is). There is a tool to clips them back on. These clips are perfect as you don't have to screw them back on again. The size is like it should be. So don't brake them and trow them away. There is a part were it clips over and it can go back again and again! Unless i am wrong ofc. It's hard to see. But it looked like the ones you can reuse like on older Alfa 156,147 ect.
Excactly - So much nicer than jubilee and they will last forever. Been on Alfas and Fiat since mid 90's and they never fail.
Beta makes a tool to both undo and do them. Very, very simple and effective tool.
@@LarsLaursen83you can use a pair of side cutting pliers to pull the two parts together. Main benefit is they provide constant spring tension which jubilee clips don't.
It's well good that you are making a video of taking the car apart. When you are done, you can play it in reverse and see how to put it back together. You are a genius. Genius! :D
I'm super excited to be first to say this is awesome that you can teach me from South africa how to repair an alfa. Alfamis super expensive in SA,so you posting this is super exciting.
I prefer the blue tbh, but I understand it would devalue the car with a colour change. Its coming a long nicely, headlamps were a huge win, shame about the wheels, not long to go now boys. 🏆
hey bud great job on the videos, one thing if you could use a little more light when filming that would be great hopefully the problem isn’t on my end
keep up the great work very impressive
The radar looks very similar to a Vw golf mk7 2013-2016 so worth giving that a try
I LOVE this car!! I always have loved these! Great Job! Perhaps you should have cleaned the area where the bolts bolted on the front bumper at the top before you put them all in. Once you go to paint it it will be much easier and better looking. IMHO.
You need a carbon heart infront, carbon mirrors, carbon rear diffuser and do NOT install GTA spoiler, as this is a QV. You may also find an akropovic exhaust system. Nice build.
I'm 180 degrees on this.
Hey mate, I run my own automotive repair business in Australia. That rear dog leg repair can be easily repaired in a few hours. Hammer the wheel arch line from the inside, dent pull the door edge and put some filler in it. Love the vids! I prefer your videos over "you know who's" 😂
Hi, pls try to show the interesting n important fixes.. u showed the belt replacement but what about the bumper repair using staples etc. that wd hv been good to watch too. Looking forward to the next one
You need to do the exhaust mod, as standard the flaps only open in race mode, disconnect and block the vacuum hoses that go to each tail pipe, you can get in from the back of each wheel arch
Any South Africans here? 😋
Da vat hy
Yebo baba
They're all gathered at Mat Armstrong
Lol they must gather here too... Slix also has good builds..
Actually we must gather everywhere
We are here
Nothing makes me happier than a thursday post, another sick video! Can't wait to see how this beauty turns out!
Ethan is a top lad all round - Especially for sorting out the white Merc for laughing boy, who is really trying at the mo!
Hes a goodn
Who’s white merc??
@@Chris_Slixa definite right hand man 😁🇬🇧👍🏻
Eth is a ledge!
Laughing boy😂😂yea I agree tho was a nice move that and he seemingly did it just to help him out and get some promo for his business cos he’s not even promoting a channel
Is it just me but the blue and white combo really works, looks like something MA would drive
just some blue wrapping on the back end then sorted
When using rhe plastic welding pins use loads of them not just a few. And thet just melt some good quality zip in with soldering gun. You can change the head on a soldering gun to a screw to make melting easy.
If you go to the trouble of vacuum filling the cooling system, it would be a good idea to pre-fill the pipe from the bucket or else you are pushing air into the system as soon as you open the fill valve.
You should have gone for the facelift headlights, they are so clean 💯 and I think plug and play too
Tip, don’t throw the old belt away, put it in the boot, you never know you may need, I realise pulling the front off this isn’t a roadside prospect but getting hold of another belt in an emergency may not be easy either. I do this no matter what the car is.
by the time you've removed the entire frontend to replace the belt, Amazon already delivered a new one at your doorstep.
Funny drawing thr belt on cardboard. If only there was some sort of device you could use to capture an image of it. 😂
The belt can only be drawn on a certain cardboard from Alfa. 😆
😂
It's amzing what a rich source of car parts that can be readly bouģht in good old brum
It’s also where my car was last clocked on an ANPR camera when it was stolen off my drive,,,,and never seen again.
Wow! Loved this vid so much...great work there mate! Cant wait to see the wheel put on, the dent repaired and the whole car repainted!!!
Cool vids bro. Good alternative to matts slow output 😅
Chris, great job and video. Keep rocking. Cheers from Brazil!!!
I cant belive i just found out about your channel now! LOVE FROM SOUTH AFRICA BRO
Three of the best you tubers dropping videos had to do them in the best order Chris then auto Alex then Matt sorry wife I'm busy watching you tube
‘Jubilee’ type clips (worm clips) are not used for multiple reasons, cost, extended time to fit and most importantly clamping, spring clips and crimp clips apply the correct clamping force on the hose without cutting into the hose or being too loose and allow the hose and fitting to expand and contract when hot/cold keeping the clamping for correct at all times. Always replace like for like.
The fucks a worm clip never heard them being called that before
‘Jubilee’ is a brand of worm clip 👍
8:10 If its a multiare engine. Don't forget to clean or replace multiair filter.
It's not on service list, but kils multiair unit if not cleaned.
They are 1k plus to replace for part. Brake cleaner cleans them.
Big job to replace
Learned from my guiletta.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a fk QV
Iv seen some pretty numb alfisti's but you are number 1
And yes always go for tjet over multi air. 1.4 tjet is the best
Loving the Alfa content, it will be worth it once its done, they're alot of fun 👌🤌
Beautiful Motor Chris. Love your channel. Keep up the great work 👍😁
Hi Chris, The clips for the hoses are not single use, undo with a flat head screw driver and you can re-use with a pair of pliers or get the tool for about £10. I suspect it’s not just Alfa but also Fiat, Ferrari and Maserati that use them so may be a no brainier in the long run
Another Excellent video Chris love seeing your transformations in the cars you buy its very inspiring
I’ve had the same thing with Merc headlights they seem to change the part numbers all the time for the same lights but they work fine
Just ordered my OBD11 using your code.👌
@chris, what will be dope is of you can build this car to look like the beast version of the car from the movie: 6 underground
My neighbour has one of these and he’s actually put some sort of blocker plate on it as that’s what’s used to steal the car. Might be worth looking into it
Is that your new Unit? If so you've done a lot of work looks Mint and love the fact you had the Merc in the background
Jubilees don't expand and contract with the hoses/pipes, that's why coolant pipes are usually spring clips or those single use ones.
What about on air pipes?
@@Chris_Slix Just to be awkward?! 🤣
@@graemebeveridge5111 sounds about right 😂
@@Chris_Slix Jubiless don't give 100% equal pressure on all sides, also when having the hose go over plastic you can possibly crack the plastic with jubilee clip where the correct size one use clip will give equal pressure on all sides and can't crack the plastic.
I think when modern car designers leave home to go to work and their wife asks them, “honey what are you going to do today?” Their response is…….. design something to make a mechanics job a nightmare 😂
It’s so they can ensure they can make money making repairs and fixes impossible unless you are a full mechanic with a garage.
@@SD-oi9gr No its not. There are certain requirements to be met and you make compromises. Needed a Ferrari V6 and thats what a Ferrari V6 looks like. You wouldnt have Ferrari make a V6 from scratch for you. Needs to be light and compact, hence why everything is cramped. Etc, etc...
Don't forget for the future, dip all your belts in 303, let them air dry, fit and see how long they last. It's great stuff
bro what? no
@@bluearcherx no? Why not?
Wow, combining a Ferrari engine with an Alfa Romeo is like mixing fine wine with pizza! 🍷🍕 Can't wait to see how this turns out! Keep up the awesome work, Chris! 🚗💨
Well done Chris great content south africa is watching🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
watching from🇿🇼
am learning so much thank you Chris
Try using jb weld for plastic on bumper clip it gives oem durability
im actually here watching before watching mats new vid
Mat video was also crap
Excellent Job..
She is really coming along.
Is the radar part not the same as fitted to MK7 Golf’s?
Upvoted 👌
That went better than expected. I've worked multiple times on my Alfa Giulietta, what a nightmare to work on ..
It looks so good! ❤
Great video. 👍👍👍👍
great video, watched on 10x speed to be the first to finish the whole thing
Id finished it before it came out. 😂
Dude, how the freak are your hands not dirty, no dirt under your nails and hNds thAt look like they handle pygmy goats all day?? Seriously all you guys are awesome, great attitude and knowledge!!
Been buzzing for this one 👏 👏 🎉🎉
I looooooove how you're almost always wearing MA merchandise!
Have changed loads of these belts at work, be glad its not the stelvio as access to the belt is not the same at all 😂 would have come and helped you with this if you had replied to my comment on your last video.
do love a well sorted alfa Guila quad in red with gold wheels......never seen a white one before
Great video Chris !!
Liam is becoming an extra across multiple channels as of late 😂
Great video Chris, what’s the spray you use to clean the plastics in engine bay, cheers Phil.
Chris Fix you are the best!
lol
Elsea, Mat and Now Chris, you lot speak to each other, not to mention Ben and Drive Tribe. Car Thursday.
And Saving Salvage too!
Pretty impressive considering no previous Alfa knowledge or factory procedure manuals.
Great job, considering that Alfa parts aren’t common. Can’t believe the spaghetti of wires and hoses in the front, almost like an afterthought!
You could have taken a look at M539 restorations recent content - lots of great hints there!
Chris’ Working on car clothes are better then my going out clothes 😢
9 minutes in and you’ve changed a belt! Cracking video 😂
I’m on fixing one with exactly the same damage. I’ll be interested in some parts you’ll have left.
Obd11 charging you every time you want to use a feature on a device you’ve already bought is next level, given that the entire reason it exists is car companies doing the exact same 😅😂
If someone is missing blue alfa romeo, last known location is birmingham😄😄
You don’t need the radar. Disconnect it and perform a proxy alignment, and when you find a part simply install it and do a proxy alignment.
That radar bracket looks same as mk6 golf and Skoda radar brackets
Hopefully you plan on replacing the valve cover gasket too
I've been waiting for this upload!! 🔥🔥
good work!
Guys let's gutter here and get Chris to 300k subscribers 🎉
It’s every 4 years, not 5. Mines going in for its big one in a few weeks. 💷💷
There is a way to do the aux belt without removing the whole front end. AHM has a handy walk through on their website.
Also another Alfaism, you have to drain the charge coolers to do the Aux belt, the Aux belt is due at 50k but the coolant for the coolers is due at 60k. So, do you just put the old coolant back in for 10k 🤣
Coming together nicely
hold up... so you drew a PICTURE of the belt... do you not have a phone?? could have just taken a photo 😂😂😂
You should look into the radar mod to stop it being nicked so easily. I think its JTD Performance that sells it.
the problem with the light is mostly when your under the car or in the engine bay
I like the white and blue look 😀🏴
Love the videos, i just want to ask if your next car can possibly be a Japanese car. Plz
Nice one m8 keep it coming
300k by Christmas - let’s go ❤
Have a look at mg zs or hs radar the housing looks the same might be able to lash one together
I’m looking for a rear shock absorber for my 2018/2019 Giulia Quad… any advice on where to get second hand parts from would be appreciated… Birmingham UK area
I think the blue looks so much better than white!
Hi chris ,enyojing your channel👍🏻, wanted to ask you about the cleaning products that u use on your cars, and if they are available to buy on line , because i live in sweden , so that i can get them shipped to me .
Keep up the good work
Roger
Who the freak wears crocs in a mechanics shop??? Dude they would lynch you down south US if they saw that, haha🤣🤣🤣🤣 You guys are the bomb🧨
