I was blessed to be taught for 1 year in 2003 by Mr Tamatea. He taught TeReo Maori( Native Language to NZ).. He ripped my head off for talking in class and not learning my prayer proply. Memories. Rip Mr Tamatea 🙏❤️🙏❤️
Nihil boni sine labore aye bruv? Chuurrr Mr Tamatea had mana, I never had the privilege of being taught by him but he was a great man with great influence
That's how strong Maori culture is in our schools. Respect, honour, humbleness and thankfulness, One who's zeal is to share his knowledge, wisdom & understanding to his students.
ANOTHER SOLID ONE ! YOU A REAL ONE BRO, GETTING TEARY SHOWS THAT THE SPIRIT OF THE HAKA IS DONE RIGHT, THATS WHAT IS CALLED MANA M"BRO. SOLID ! HAKA IN PEACE - NIICE
I felt the emotion and sadness of the young boys for their beloved teacher , their Haka was impressive and I could feel those familiar feelings through watching and hearing their Haka the same feelings I've felt when I attend funerals of my old army buddies , rest in peace Mr Dawson Tamatea from this 80 year old vet and thankyou Mr Sean Tyler Sir for bringing this video
around the 5:10 mark you hear i think its a teacher he says settle down "Kia kaha" which translates to "be strong" basically hes telling them to keep their emotions in check and listen to the command of the leaders of the haka as well as be strong this is a time to embrace our fallen brother/Teacher so be strong for him 👍
I remember seeing this and not understanding the impact of this until i went to high school here at PNBHS. Now i lobe the haka and ive done it for retiring teachers, competition within the school and at a tangi (funeral).
Yeah Dawson's my uncle he did a lot for boys high and that take went viral quick they had a lot of respect for him as he did them, his tangi/ funeral was beautiful, I was there went they filmed this haka ,he actually taught them that ,there's over 1500 students at boys high, probably more now, r.I,p uncle,
omg this certainly touches my Heart..All u guys doing haka gave me goose bumps and what an awesome sound ..Yr teacher would have been so proud of u all...Fair play to ya all...Absolutely Amazing
Sean NO requirements for you to listen to these self-proclaimed experts of the haka when most of them probably do not speak Te Reo. There is no requirement to allow the haka recordings to play without interruption in a reaction context like yours. You can pause play when you please because its your channel. Its not disrespectful to disseminate and discuss.
Once you start watching haka, you can't stop watching haka. THIS is how you celebrate and honor the diversity of a nation and its indigenous traditions. It's heartbreaking that Americans don't do the same.
I’m actually a student that goes to boys high, I’m a year 9 student and they do the haka as a greeting and boy is it scary, u can feel it through the floor boards in the hall!
Yeah haka's are powerful if there done properly, that one was from the coast where I'm from, my uncle taught them that, he was a big influence on a lot of people, boys high is a military based school a lot of their teachers and dead etc have army and military backgrounds so their taught disapline and respect they do marching, etc and have a lot of diversity they always have a wide variety of subjects they do well in like sports, a few all blacks came from that school, they have a awesome quartet and other things, pretty strict though
Ya have to understand, the Sth Pacific population are on another level. We have a huge love & respect for our ELDERS, they are our nutrition. Mentally, spiritually & physically. We entrust our babies into the capable hands of their teachers to raise for 6+hrs a day, 5x a week. Of course our children grow to love & depend on them. They become whanau. (family) some more than others, but an imprint will be made.
My man pause the video to stop copyright and show respect and straight when he plays it TH-cam Add pops up lol. Btw, my man needs a one way ticket to NZL cause. I've watched 5 videos and I believe he has a inner Maori in him that needs to explore the culture.
The next Haka for you to react to is Tika Tonu: what is right is always right, performed at a couple's wedding. The groom's side performed this to welcome the bride into his family. All I'll say about it is you don't have a heart if you don't feel anything from this one! Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/QUbx-AcDgXo/w-d-xo.html
@@RareSoulTV The wedding Haka is staged rubbish. Here is an example of how to haka from the heart. The school kids in this upload preform a battle haka called Te Puru or the Bull used by the tribe of Tuhoe during the New Zealand Land Wars of 1845 - 1872 against the British. th-cam.com/video/5sUkIJjNG8E/w-d-xo.html
