As somebody that lives in Joshua Tree, seeing this makes me realize I have GOT to get out to the JT&S. Haven't been there in about a decade. If you pause the video at 15:27, I'm literally just on the other side of those three little hills in the center of the frame. I live so close but hardly ever visit. LOL! Beautiful loco by the way!
This is one of the places to visit on my bucket list since it is one of the only live steamer switchback RR's. Curious about track layout and planned expansion, what is the current max elavation & length?
I liked this a lot and I subscribed. I hope your channel grows. It should I think because of your nice mixed content. I'm a self employed Industrial designer/machinist for 26 years now and understand what your doing for the biggest part. Maybe Solidworks modelling (great tool, no doubt about it) isn't for everyone to enjoy? For me as a technical junkie keep them coming but maybe not for the bigger audience. I just watched a few of your videos what raised some questions for me. I'm not sure if you want to answer them on TH-cam but I give it a try. It seems to me you have quite a nice shop with a nice conventional lathe and CNC milling and turning. Not the average shop for a steam enthusiast I think so is this a shop were you earn your daily bread and you are self employed? Or is it an opportunity at another shop were you work? Or what's your background and how did you get where you are right now? Just curious because I like to know who I'm looking at and how things are connected. Another Question; what's the brand and type of the CNC machines you're working with? The lathe gives me the feel of a Haas but I don't think it's an office mill. The CNC mill is a Brother type with a central tool changer but I'm guessing here. I own a Haas Minimill since 2007 and had great results with it. The way you run your machine though makes me feel like a pussy and fi possible I could chat about feeds and speeds in e.g. 316 stainless steel. Curious and thankful for your possible answer. All the best! Job, Delft, the Netherlands
It is! But these pieces were too small for my firebox. After about 90 minutes I couldn't get air through the fire anymore and had to switch over to another coal.
Best video I’ve seen all day. 💯
Great patina of that engine, looks so relistic. And great to see someone younger than 60 into the hobby) Gives hope for the future of the hobby
Very cool, I didn't know anything like this existed !.....thanks
Absolutely brilliant. Well done and what a great little 2-6-0.

So this place has been there at least a decade but barely has any ash or cinders on the ground? I'm trying to figure that one out.
Very nice. Great to see the details as you got ready and up to steam. Nice stack talk sound in the bridge and hill scenes! Bill.
watching start procedure etc was kool
Oh WoW Congratulations 👏😄
Enjoyed it very much.
Wow! So few videos of this beautiful railroad! Great to see!
Nicely done video and operation of the engine! It's a beautiful piece of equipment and it sounds awesome! A delight to the senses in every way!
Looks like a completely genuine steam locomotive from the inside... THEN A GIANT HAND REACHES INSIDE!!! Cool cool 😎.
Beautiful. The engine the location. I always wanted one of those.
Just beautiful.
I like the period correct rolling stock, looks really good. I didn’t see much snow to plow, but maybe you have to get up to the higher elevations.
Pretty darn cool!
just found you today…his the sub button…enjoyed!!!
Thank you for the support!
Nice video, the track is looking better. I need to get out there
Awesome video. I lived in Morongo Valley for 17 years and had no idea this place existed.
What a Project. What a Passion! Love it, but I'll stay with Sn3...
Please please please make more of these videos. Not enough quality 2.5” scale locomotive videos out there.
extremely beauty the location...awesome your craft..i love her..just a question : i don't fully understand the gauge...is 2,5 o 7,5 ?

I first saw the JT&S crews C&S moguls on the 1982 "love hose Trains" documentary. 15" is there too.... Any projects in 5/12 scale going on there?
nice beard bro. i love it
i think you need a bigger cresent wrench for those 8/32 nuts there.

Where does this video take place
Where is this
Dear Eccentric Engineer,
How much does the engine and tender weigh?
Thank You
Must be a new club? Can barely see any burned cinders or ash on the ground.
When was the locomotive built?
It was finished around 1980
God I wish I had that many flues in mine!
burning welsh coal huh anthony? good stuff.

@@EccentricEngineerYT ah ok. i like it for it's heat quality, but has no smell like bituminous does. but thats just me.
Did you build this locomotive?
I made this
😂
