I knew Kinyalili. He recorded a few singles in 19774. He was a great friend of my father. He used to accompany my mzee in game shooting. He recorded a song in honor of my mzee called “Mwana wa Nganga semba mundani katulu ni kasamu, onavala nikaninii, kakaa muunda, kakamina”. ‘Ai mundu wa Nzevu’
In 1977 Kenya daily nation report Kitanga and Matata Jazz band were on top in music charts in Kenya. I was in form one and I bought the paper because I was a big fan of Kitanga. At that point Kilimambogo had picked up from 76 -77, with hits like Kyalo kya Kiricho, Kijana Hatari, Muindi wa Mangala, Mwiitu Bethi, Katulu na Belibotom. These special hits were phenomenal and catapulted Kilimabongo on the top in popularity, particularly among the youngsters, but in terms of record sells Kitanga were still a head.and only competing with Matata Jazz band. .
M Mara Tatu, (Nyuva we Mwene), ya vinguaa kitese na wathi wa Kitanga ula wai top 1976 weetawa ‘Kamanthe’. Kklimabongo released Kelitu ka Kanyole, and Kijana Hatari at the same time, but featured less in ‘Nyuva we Mwene’. Kitanga were on the reigns. in record sells, and popularity nation wide’

I like this good man.The only one to welcome me and Nzombo well @ R/road.Othes never liked newcomers cos in us they only saw compe.Much social bullying and hatred bt Ngunzi offered good advice + encouragement.He remains my close friend 2date.GOD grant him good health and prosperity in life.
