I come from a family with an enabling mother. All of my life my brothers displayed very abusive and toxic behavior. My mother would always say that she is praying that God helps them, but she never did anything to correct their behavior. It was always. “I am praying and I know God is in control.” The message shared in this video is the very message that she would always use as her reason. Now my brothers are grown and their children now suffer from mental issues and are so far removed from God. Yet my mother still lives by this message. I grew up understanding that faith without work is dead. The fact that you and your wife have been waiting for your citizenship is only part of the message. I feel like there was a lot of work on your behalf’s that was not shared.
You're right - waiting on God in faith is only part of the bigger story story. The application process is far from simple or easy. It's extensive paperwork, hiring an immigration lawyer, submitting and resubmitting documentation, etc. Our relationship with God is meant to be active and requires our participation! Sometimes that participation is an action on our part, other times it's waiting on God. Many times, it's both.
