In all honesty, I don't think this poll is an accurate representation of the *WHOLE* fandom. The majority of fans aren't even on Reddit and it received around 1k to 3k votes which is less than 5% of players. Kohane is pretty hated on Reddit but I don't see her hated that much anywhere else. And of course there's the bingo/connect 4 thing :/ But then again, we're never getting completely accurate results in fan polls so I suppose it's inevitable and it is a fun poll in the end of the day.
Honestly the only reason I cared about this poll is because i could see all the comments seething about a pixel getting voted out. Thankfully a majority of the pjsekai fandom isn’t like this (probably)

people hate characters for no reason, people call kohane a pick me just because of her personality, people hate ichika because she's "boring", hate honami also because of her personality when she CLEARY is an amazing person who saved kanade and keeps doing everything for her friends, minori because "she's annoying" 💀💀 they all pick and choose characters to hate, most of them never read the main stories edit: y'all im not saying you can't dislike them, anyone has the right to dislike whoever they want lol. im talking about those people who dramatically and genuinely hate characters for dumb reasons like not liking their voice/the way they talk (which happens with honami and kohane), their hyperactive personality (minori for example), etc. i was talking about these people who actually never read the stories and hate characters for no reason ‼️

Kohane is a good character. Her storyline is great and her design is adorable. My only problem with her is I don't think she should've been the leader of VBS. It should've been An.
well, I did not read the story but "just like that", I feel like Kohane is the "image leader", but the one who really is the leader and who do most of the leader job is An. idk if that make any sense. Also I ship them so-
when I first played the game, I legit thought An was the leader, but now (and I feel this with every group except L/N and WxS, Tsukasa is the leader because he's usually the main hero of their plays and Ichika is the leader because she's the lead singer in their band) I feel like their all just friends doing what they love without having a leader and doing things as a group
literally with pjsekai while i havent read all the stories yet(im getting around to it) i adore all the characters in some form(either because design, personality, story or other reasons) and the ones i consider my least favourite are only that because either theres too many good ones or general disinterest except MEIKO i have personal beef with her because the game keeps giving me MEIKO cards instead of a 3/4 star nene
I haven’t read every story but it’s so hard to hate any of the characters. They all have their ups and downs, but those flaws and quirks are what make them so lovable, y’know? Like, I love shitting on Tsukasa but that doesn’t mean I hate him. If anything, I think that just shows how much I like him as a character. I’m not about to write a whole paragraph but I do want to ramble about this so here’s a list of why I like each character (and beef I have with them). Ishika - Her voice is ltrly so pretty. She’s definitely the kind of person you’d hear on the radio or being shared around on social media Saki - Her pink highlights send me. Also, she just wants to be with her friends like damn she deserves all the hugs Honami - The fact that she gives off the sweet mother-figure vibe but plays the drums has me sobbing. Her apple pie obsession is just the cherry on top Shiho - HER COVER OF LOST ONE’S WEEPING HAD ME SOLD. I WOULD SELL MY LEFT KIDNEY FOR MORE OF HER ALTO COVERS Haruka - She reminds me of my mom in a way. She also reminds me of Piplup from Pokémon Minori - Sweet child. Her interactions with her friends are so wholesome smh Airi - I don’t remember many of her conversations or dialogue but her cards are so pretty. Not to mention I love her voice. It kinda sounds like Rin but not(???) Shizuku - Gives big ara ara vibes. Also, I love how aloof she appears and she’s so pretty and I love her gentle voice sm Kohane - Sweet hampster child. Her voice is so high yet the more mature sounding of the high vocalists and her as a character is so resilient and she’s learning like let her grow plz An - God I love her unique voice. It’s not perfect but the little quirks are what makes her voice so pleasing to the ear. She’s also such a great friend to Kohane and I love her character design sm I’m crying Toya - Sweet summer child. I will protect this traumatized little bastard until the day I die Akito - Honestly, I didn’t like how harsh he was on Kohane at the beginning but he also holds himself to those standards so I understand why he acted the way he did. His relationship with Toya sends me Tsukasa - Annoying theater kid. I am also an annoying theater kid Emu - SWEET SWEET BABY I LOVE HER SHE’S A LITERAL TODDLER BUT SHE’S A SAD TODDLER AND I WILL CUT A BITCH IF SHE GETS HURT Rui - This man is unhinged in every good way and I love his mad scientist shtick. His voice is also smooth like butter and I want to consume it Nene - Socially anxious gamer girl that I will give all the patience too. Kohane can have some too but Nene gets every last crumb idc Kanade - Her savior complex is honestly fcking traumatic as balls. Someone give her weekly therapy please Mafuyu - This one also needs therapy. And maybe CPS. Definitely therapy tho Ena - She is an honest mood and very relatable. As an artist, can empathize. Her relationship with Akito is also so fcking wholesome and so sibling-like it’s not even funny Mizuki - MIZUKIIIIIIIIIII. SHE’S PINK AND SO CUTE AND KIND AND NEEDS HUGS DESPERATELY AND I LOVE HER
She should have been replaced with someone like mafuyu’s mum because the only bad characters of this game is early game aka it’s but he has changed for the better and none of the main characters are bad unless your talking about their parents then that’s a different story but your not the only salty one I feel salty because kadane got eliminated for a simple game of connect 4 kadane, kohane, and all other characters that got eliminated due to bingo/connect 4 rise
Despite how many characters I do actually like in Leo/need, I think they deserved to get kicked out first. I don't read lore but god dammit f*ck Suzuki. Mmjs main story felt so much stronger and I think many people can relate to Minori. And Ik that Ichika might be a lot more relatable since she's the basic Miku fan almost everyone in the Game is, but GOD DAMMIT SHE WAS WAY TO BASIC TO THE POINT WHERE THE TRAIT THAT SHE SOULD BE RELATABLE WAS JUST WAY TO FORCED ON TO HER. I finished the main story recently and it was SO GOOD. Especially the scene at the end where Ichika took Honami to the school sekai rooftop to look at the stars
I suggest people hate Mafuyu by ‘how she’s being rude and disrespectful to other group members’ or some people would say ‘she’s over-dramatizing’ , but like, when she’s rude she is being honest + her way of showing herself, and she’s not over-dramatizing, but all of that is just my opinion. I just like all the nightcords as well as other characters

Mafuyu has never had a day of rest, and is being worked to the bone by her mom. As someone with a chronic illness, Leo/Need is my favorite group in psekai and Saki is my favorite character. People who don’t like Leo/Need have probably never experienced being left out because of your chronic illness, especially if they’re calling the story “boring”. I know Saki wasn’t the main point of the story, but she was also the character I relate to the most. Saki spending so much time in the hospital and then being confused after her friends went through so much drama and didn’t tell her hit me really close to home. When you’re chronically ill and bedridden, some people just don’t bother to tell you what happened during your sickest days. It really sucks. And honestly, if it weren’t for Saki, Leo/Need probably would’ve never gotten back together in the first place. But my main takeaway here is if you’re somebody like Saki, Leo/Need doesn’t feel as boring because you relate to their struggles as a whole group, but especially can relate to Saki. It just touched my heart to see chronic illness representation :)
Oh you must have related to her a lot then :( I also don't know why people don't like Leo/Need, my take is that they are way more realistic than other characters, their struggles are things that a lot of people can relate to, in my case, I relate to Shiho, specially the whole I want to take something seriously but my friends just want to have fun however I don't want them to take it seriously because of me, but I also don't want to leave them behind. Ichika and Honami also have their struggles and their songs are so cool with meaningful lyrics. Mmj and L/n in general are so underrated
Seeing as Kohane Honami Minori and Mafuyu are some of my all time favorite characters this is heartbreaking for me. These characters may look normal but have lots of variety. Also people hating on Mafuyu is sad to me. I have a mother similar to her and it just goes to show that people don't care about children abused by manipulators and just blame it on us for "not saying anything" I might make a fanmade story about this with the characters response to this and Mizuki having to save them all from the HATE. :)
i also despise mafuyu but you can dislike her and still appreciate the character. i think shes a pretty well written character. you feel bad for her and you recognize that she lashes out at the other members because theyre the only people she can actually talk to, without hurting her own image as the "perfect child". but it doesnt necessarily excuse the way she treats them, either. i think its very generalizing to say "it goes to show people dont care about abuse victims" bc... no, it might show that people are misinformed (usually abuse victims are stereotyped as quiet and shy and unassuming) about how emotional abuse can effect people, but at the end of the day, its just their reaction to one character in one video game.
She's not abused? Not being allowed to hang out with certain people and do certain things because your parent thinks it's a bad influence is annoying yes but it's not abuse
No way, tsukasa is one of the most popular characters, I personally don't like him a lot but I've never seen someone say he's annoying (for the loud part yes but never heard it in a bad way) specially in japan, his events are almost (if not as) competitive as mizuki's
I don't rlly involve myself with the pjsk fandom and just talk about the game with friends who also play it, but Emu is my favorite character bc she fills me with so much serotonin with how positive she is. I'm glad she at least won 3rd place lol. 💗🎪

You're partly right, yes, but people hate characters for very silly things and in many cases invalid things. Currently they just hate them for hating because, of course, if you didn't read a story or a focus event you wouldn't have a valid Point currently. I'm not saying it's bad, but it only lowers the opinion a bit when you only rely on the first thing you see or the first thing someone tells you. Obviously no one or almost no one will read the story or the focus events BUT still, the same songs talk about the story too. It just lowers the opinion a bit, or it just becomes something ""Invalid"" Btw, bandori fans are 'way worse' than prsk fans honestly. Since prsk became popular they started with voice comparisons, cards comparisons, game modes, etc. Bandori fans only lower prsk and prsk fans lower themselves to the level of the others, so idk just that.

I think it's because Kohane as a person, isn't really problematic persay, being a good person actually serves to her detriment considering she gives off the illusion of a "Mary Sue" even though she's literally far from that considering she's still the most inexperienced in VBS and despite her "awakening" she's still trying to improve. I mean passion is literally the core theme of VBS which is why all of them strive to outdo and improve with each other, and Kohane never really stops doing that, same with An, Toya and Akito. She lacks any meaningful flaws (besides her need for improvement, which to her credit she's actually fixing) that could resonate with most people. For example, Toya and Kohane are actually counterparts and both serve as the "potential" member in their pairs, with the only difference being is that Kohane's family actually supports her endeavours unlike Toya's Family. That lack of conflict is unfortunately backfiring on her really badly and as a Kohane fan, that sucks alot. Unfortunately, people won't try and figure that out though

This is my little 2 sense, I dont hate a single character in the game, I like them all alot! But the reason why I find Niigo25 to be my favorite group is because I relate to the characters and the songs the most, not only that, but the reason why Mizuki Akiyama is my favorite character is because Mizuki's whole character arch, including personality, I love how Mizuki is obsessed with cute things as well as always being nice to everyone and even teasing the ones that are mean, I also love how Mizuki has probably the darkest thought process but continues to hide their pain with a smile, because I do that myself, I'm known for always trying to make anyone smile or laugh, Not only that, but I'm also obsessed with cute things, and I love cheering people up, even when I'm not my best, So that is why I love Mizuki.
As a Mizuki fan, I am sort of happy that Mizuki isn't as hated as other characters in this poll, but that doesn't stop me from being upset about others, such as Akito and Mafuyu etc. Mafuyu may be my least favourite Niigo member but there is no exact reason to hate on her, given that her backstory makes a hUUUGE impact on how she is. As for Akito... people hate him for being ginger and that annoys me,, it's like every ginger character is made fun of (like Childe, jesus christ Childe)

I adore Kohane, but I'm agree. An should have been the unit leader, considering in VBS opening story we start with her backstory, while in the other openings we start with the leader's backstory

Luka and Meiko haters have no taste, i feel like some of them clearly have only seen the Project Sekai side of them, and not the amazing and beautiful regular vocaloid sides of them. I don’t get people who hate a vocaloid just because of how they are in Project Sekai.

I have a few points to note. -Most of the people in the fandom are very chronically online twitter cancelling teens obsessed with LGBTQ and pronouns (no offence i support im also a teen too) so it's not surprising for them to not vote for Mizuki, who seems to be implied to be a transgender (which sucks because it seems like people just dont regard their whole character as a whole and are like trans rep = best character) -From what I know about the fandom as a whole, Leo/Need and More More Jump are the least liked units (for no apparent reason at all have people even read they're main story) -Even though Ichika is the poster girl for the game, she was still voted out second. -I found it quite surprising that Kohane and Akito were both voted out because VBS is one of the most popular units.
It’s really a 50-50 for Akito and Kohane, I think in Japsekai they’re rlly well liked characters but in engsekai they aren’t really well liked (?) Kohane- not too many people like her because she’s looks like a “pick me” or she’s annoying or isn’t interesting something like that, which kind of led to people reducing her personality down to a “uwu crybaby” or a “pick me” Akito- I’m assuming it’s cause he was mean to Kohane in the main story which led to some people reducing him down to “a b*tch whose super mean and doesn’t care about anyone”

Okay, here’s my opinion(even though no one asked). So basically as a HUGE Vivid BAD SQUAD fan, I can help with this. Personally, I love Kohane. She is so kind and cares about her teammates. She is also really cute and pretty. The only reason some people dislike Kohane a lot is because they believe An should have been the MC in Vivid BAD. I completely agree with that much, but I don’t take that as a reason to dislike Kohane as a character.

Overrated imo Unique design and pleasant personality but terrible feats Akito is the best char in the game including VS We got to see his potential at the sport festival he was insane against mizuki
I don't hate any character, but if I had to pick a character i like the least is probably Kohane. Don't get me wrong I LOVED Kohane before, she is so precious and kind. But I feel like she has minimal flaws and writing isn't that good, with how she is basically a perfect character with her shyness or inexperience not necessarily a flaw. She is even shown in multiple events, some of which are An's focus events how she is VERY good, and even better than An who grew up on these streets and has had way more longer experience than her. Kohane is even compared to Nagi, which I feel is unnecessary because Nagi is an unreachable goal for a reason and is way different in upbringing and pretty much everything from Kohane. I get natural talent can be a an interesting plot point with how for example Akito doesn't have any talent. But it feels repetitive and I honestly lost interest in the story since that plot point can only get you so far. For example at the beginning An instantly asks Kohane to be her singing partner even though she has no experience and only had training in class. It feels kinda, undeserved to me? I think it'd be more interesting if Kohane tried to get better and improve herself to sing with An after getting inspired by her. It'd make it feel much more deserved and accomplished rather than, oh she has a secret talent and it's fate. Idk I just don't like how she is just a perfect child. But that's my opinion and by herself Kohane is a good character, just not writing wise.

Saki is very popular among the community i heard she is far far ahead of all others LN members in popularity overall Akito is straight up chad and i like how ichika was not afraid of him when VBS helped them to improve for the festival when nene and minori were almost crying because he got a little agressive 😂😂

Well its kinda dumb to get mad just because a character won in a reddit poll…i have seen a lot of Mizuki fans interested in them because of their gender/pronouns on the global server, but i have seen some cool mizuki fans who see them as something more.

To all Kohane haters, Srsly you aren't kidding about her having a childish voice to have you hate her? She's literally the most nicest character compared to all of characters, AND WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT VOCALS. and also, just because she doesn't stand out doesn't mean that she is that bad.
In fandoms it’s oftentimes “Once a jerk, always a jerk.” people have no regard for the fact that she was literally on the verge of ending her life because “she was mean to N25 !!” even though she’s working to find herself and get better, like many of the other characters that have evolved from their questionable actions in the main story-like Akito, who was a jerk to Kohane but learns not to dismiss her abilities despite being new to the street scene-Tsukasa, who yelled at Nene for a mistake she made after their first show goes wrong but profusely apologizes for his actions after learning the true reason he decided to pursue acting and even goes as far as to put on an entire apology show-and Shiho, who avoided the rest of L/n and was very cold toward them, but only because she didn’t want to bring them down with her, and once the band is reformed she is extremely patient with the other members and chooses to play with her friends instead of abandoning them for better players. Some people refuse to acknowledge these character arcs at all just because they perceive a character having cold moments as irreversible selfishness, when, in Mafuyu’s case, it was self-preservation from allowing herself to go down a path where she would reach yet another dead end and ultimately make herself feel even worse. I’ve seen a lot of Mafuyu haters that think she doesn’t have the right to be depressed if she’s resisting the people who try to help her, which I think is incredibly shallow thinking because she genuinely believes that there is no hope left for her true identity to be found. She sees N25’s efforts as just another waste of time because she’d tried so many other suggestions from others and even from herself and hit dead ends at all of them. “nothing else worked, so why would this be different?” She’s completely fallen into the depths of despair and doesn’t realize that there’s still hope. Why should she keep putting on an act, pretending that she truly believes they can help her? Not to mention, an awful lot of N25 events are mostly about either her or the group members helping her in some way. I don’t personally see a huge problem with this because 1) it’s HER sekai born out of her feelings alone so it really does make sense that a lot of the focus is on her and 2) each member discovers a part of themselves through her, out of the shared desire to disappear. People have completely forgotten that the rest of N25 has their own identities and feelings simply because “Mafuyu’s there too, so is it really their focus?” I do wish that Ena events could bring more focus to the severity of her desire for attention, instead of her being sad in art class for the 4th time, but that’s about it. yap session over, Mafuyu is my favorite character and N25 is my favorite unit. they could never make me hate them

As someone who read all the main stories, it’s a bit disappointing seeing Leo/need and akito getting killed off 😭Personally my least favourite band story had to be vbs, but Leo/need was forgettable to me (Might be due to the fact it was the first one I read), I remember it being quite good and made me love Shiho a lot more. It’s sad to see people dismissing most of Leo/need (but they all love Saki, like c’mon she’s the most boring imo 😅surprised she even got top 5) even when they are my least favourite band (The other bands outshine them compared to “childhood friends play in a band”, the trope is still done very well though). I’m sure if they were in a game like Bandori instead, they’d get a lot more appreciation (Props to all Leo/need fans!!)

In all honesty, I don't think this poll is an accurate representation of the *WHOLE* fandom. The majority of fans aren't even on Reddit and it received around 1k to 3k votes which is less than 5% of players. Kohane is pretty hated on Reddit but I don't see her hated that much anywhere else. I haven’t read every story but it’s so hard to hate any of the characters. They all have their ups and downs, but those flaws and quirks are what make them so lovable, y’know? Like, I love shitting on Tsukasa but that doesn’t mean I hate him. If anything, I think that just shows how much I like him as a character.
I’m not about to write a whole paragraph but I do want to ramble about this so here’s a list of why I like each character (and beef I have with them).
Ishika - Her voice is ltrly so pretty. She’s definitely the kind of person you’d hear on the radio or being shared around on social media
Saki - Her pink highlights send me. Also, she just wants to be with her friends like damn she deserves all the hugs
Honami - The fact that she gives off the sweet mother-figure vibe but plays the drums has me sobbing. Her apple pie obsession is just the cherry on top
Shiho - HER COVER OF LOST ONE’S WEEPING HAD ME SOLD. I WOULD SELL MY LEFT KIDNEY FOR MORE OF HER ALTO COVERS
Haruka - She reminds me of my mom in a way. She also reminds me of Piplup from Pokémon
Minori - Sweet child. Her interactions with her friends are so wholesome smh
Airi - I don’t remember many of her conversations or dialogue but her cards are so pretty. Not to mention I love her voice. It kinda sounds like Rin but not(???)
Shizuku - Gives big ara ara vibes. Also, I love how aloof she appears and she’s so pretty and I love her gentle voice sm
Kohane - Sweet hampster child. Her voice is so high yet the more mature sounding of the high vocalists and her as a character is so resilient and she’s learning like let her grow plz
An - God I love her unique voice. It’s not perfect but the little quirks are what makes her voice so pleasing to the ear. She’s also such a great friend to Kohane and I love her character design sm I’m crying
Toya - Sweet summer child. I will protect this traumatized little bastard until the day I die

As someone with a chronic illness, Leo/Need is my favorite group in psekai and Saki is my favorite character. People who don’t like Leo/Need have probably never experienced being left out because of your chronic illness, especially if they’re calling the story “boring”. I know Saki wasn’t the main point of the story, but she was also the character I relate to the most. Saki spending so much time in the hospital and then being confused after her friends went through so much drama and didn’t tell her hit me really close to home. When you’re chronically ill and bedridden, some people just don’t bother to tell you what happened during your sickest days. It really sucks. And honestly, if it weren’t for Saki, Leo/Need probably would’ve never gotten back together in the first place. But my main takeaway here is if you’re somebody like Saki, Leo/Need doesn’t feel as boring because you relate to their struggles as a whole group, but especially can relate to Saki. It just touched my heart to see chronic illness representation :)
Oh you must have related to her a lot then :( I also don't know why people don't like Leo/Need, my take is that they are way more realistic than other characters, their struggles are things that a lot of people can relate to, in my case, I relate to Shiho, specially the whole I want to take something seriously but my friends just want to have fun however I don't want them to take it seriously because of me, but I also don't want to leave them behind. Ichika and Honami also have their struggles and their songs are so cool with meaningful lyrics. Mmj and L/n in general are so underrated
Seeing as Kohane Honami Minori and Mafuyu are some of my all time favorite characters this is heartbreaking for me. These characters may look normal but have lots of variety. Also people hating on Mafuyu is sad to me. I have a mother similar to her and it just goes to show that people don't care about children abused by manipulators and just blame it on us for "not saying anything" I might make a fanmade story about this with the characters response to this and Mizuki having to save them all from the HATE. :)

i also despise mafuyu but you can dislike her and still appreciate the character. i think shes a pretty well written character. you feel bad for her and you recognize that she lashes out at the other members because theyre the only people she can actually talk to, without hurting her own image as the "perfect child". but it doesnt necessarily excuse the way she treats them, either.
i think its very generalizing to say "it goes to show people dont care about abuse victims" bc... no, it might show that people are misinformed (usually abuse victims are stereotyped as quiet and shy and unassuming) about how emotional abuse can effect people, but at the end of the day, its just their reaction to one character in one video game.
She's not abused? Not being allowed to hang out with certain people and do certain things because your parent thinks it's a bad influence is annoying yes but it's not abuse

You're partly right, yes, but people hate characters for very silly things and in many cases invalid things. Currently they just hate them for hating because, of course, if you didn't read a story or a focus event you wouldn't have a valid Point currently. I'm not saying it's bad, but it only lowers the opinion a bit when you only rely on the first thing you see or the first thing someone tells you.

I think it's because Kohane as a person, isn't really problematic persay, being a good person actually serves to her detriment considering she gives off the illusion of a "Mary Sue" even though she's literally far from that considering she's still the most inexperienced in VBS and despite her "awakening" she's still trying to improve. I mean passion is literally the core theme of VBS which is why all of them strive to outdo and improve with each other, and Kohane never really stops doing that, same with An, Toya and Akito. She lacks any meaningful flaws (besides her need for improvement, which to her credit she's actually fixing) that could resonate with most people. For example, Toya and Kohane are actually counterparts and both serve as the "potential" member in their pairs, with the only difference being is that Kohane's family actually supports her endeavours unlike Toya's Family. That lack of conflict is unfortunately backfiring on her really badly and as a Kohane fan, that sucks alot.

But the reason why I find Niigo25 to be my favorite group is because I relate to the characters and the songs the most, not only that, but the reason why Mizuki Akiyama is my favorite character is because Mizuki's whole character arch, including personality, I love how Mizuki is obsessed with cute things as well as always being nice to everyone and even teasing the ones that are mean, I also love how Mizuki has probably the darkest thought process but continues to hide their pain with a smile, because I do that myself, I'm known for always trying to make anyone smile or laugh, Not only that, but I'm also obsessed with cute things, and I love cheering people up, even when I'm not my best, So that is why I love Mizuki.

As a Mizuki fan, I am sort of happy that Mizuki isn't as hated as other characters in this poll, but that doesn't stop me from being upset about others, such as Akito and Mafuyu etc. Mafuyu may be my least favourite Niigo member but there is no exact reason to hate on her, given that her backstory makes a hUUUGE impact on how she is. As for Akito... people hate him for being ginger and that annoys me,, it's like every ginger character is made fun of (like Childe, jesus christ Childe)

I have a few points to note.
-Most of the people in the fandom are very chronically online twitter cancelling teens obsessed with LGBTQ and pronouns (no offence i support im also a teen too) so it's not surprising for them to not vote for Mizuki, who seems to be implied to be a transgender (which sucks because it seems like people just dont regard their whole character as a whole and are like trans rep = best character)
-From what I know about the fandom as a whole, Leo/Need and More More Jump are the least liked units (for no apparent reason at all have people even read they're main story)
-Even though Ichika is the poster girl for the game, she was still voted out second.
-I found it quite surprising that Kohane and Akito were both voted out because VBS is one of the most popular units.
It’s really a 50-50 for Akito and Kohane, I think in Japsekai they’re rlly well liked characters but in engsekai they aren’t really well liked (?)
Kohane- not too many people like her because she’s looks like a “pick me” or she’s annoying or isn’t interesting something like that, which kind of led to people reducing her personality down to a “uwu crybaby” or a “pick me”
Akito- I’m assuming it’s cause he was mean to Kohane in the main story which led to some people reducing him down to “a b*tch whose super mean and doesn’t care about anyone”

Okay, here’s my opinion(even though no one asked). So basically as a HUGE Vivid BAD SQUAD fan, I can help with this. Personally, I love Kohane. She is so kind and cares about her teammates. She is also really cute and pretty. The only reason some people dislike Kohane a lot is because they believe An should have been the MC in Vivid BAD. I completely agree with that much, but I don’t take that as a reason to dislike Kohane as a character.
That is a reason to dislike kohane, people prefer an to be the leader /mc, or people just find her annoying bec of her cheerful and hope personality, tbh I don't like kohane bec of her cheerful vibe/personality, shes too nice,too kind

I would say this is of course not an accurate representation of what the sekai fandom thinks of these characters, since this is on reddit, where some characters are way more hated than on other social media platforms, and seeing how many people voted. Personally, I think Mizuki is popular, but I think someone from wondershow would win, like Rui. Also I expected Ichika to go down first, so yeah. Im still side eyeing those akito haters who only dislike him because he’s ginger…but this is reddit after all lol.

I don't hate any character, but if I had to pick a character i like the least is probably Kohane. Don't get me wrong I LOVED Kohane before, she is so precious and kind. But I feel like she has minimal flaws and writing isn't that good, with how she is basically a perfect character with her shyness or inexperience not necessarily a flaw. She is even shown in multiple events, some of which are An's focus events how she is VERY good, and even better than An who grew up on these streets and has had way more longer experience than her. Kohane is even compared to Nagi, which I feel is unnecessary because Nagi is an unreachable goal for a reason and is way different in upbringing and pretty much everything from Kohane. I get natural talent can be a an interesting plot point with how for example Akito doesn't have any talent. But it feels repetitive and I honestly lost interest in the story since that plot point can only get you so far. For example at the beginning An instantly asks Kohane to be her singing partner even though she has no experience and only had training in class. It feels kinda, undeserved to me? I think it'd be more interesting if Kohane tried to get better and improve herself to sing with An after getting inspired by her. It'd make it feel much more deserved and accomplished rather than, oh she has a secret talent and it's fate. Idk I just don't like how she is just a perfect child. But that's my opinion and by herself Kohane is a good character, just not writing wise.

Mostly because people misunderstood her-
In fandoms it’s oftentimes “Once a jerk, always a jerk.” people have no regard for the fact that she was literally on the verge of ending her life because “she was mean to N25 !!” even though she’s working to find herself and get better, like many of the other characters that have evolved from their questionable actions in the main story-like Akito, who was a jerk to Kohane but learns not to dismiss her abilities despite being new to the street scene-Tsukasa, who yelled at Nene for a mistake she made after their first show goes wrong but profusely apologizes for his actions after learning the true reason he decided to pursue acting and even goes as far as to put on an entire apology show-and Shiho, who avoided the rest of L/n and was very cold toward them, but only because she didn’t want to bring them down with her, and once the band is reformed she is extremely patient with the other members and chooses to play with her friends instead of abandoning them for better players. Some people refuse to acknowledge these character arcs at all just because they perceive a character having cold moments as irreversible selfishness, when, in Mafuyu’s case, it was self-preservation from allowing herself to go down a path where she would reach yet another dead end and ultimately make herself feel even worse. I’ve seen a lot of Mafuyu haters that think she doesn’t have the right to be depressed if she’s resisting the people who try to help her, which I think is incredibly shallow thinking because she genuinely believes that there is no hope left for her true identity to be found. She sees N25’s efforts as just another waste of time because she’d tried so many other suggestions from others and even from herself and hit dead ends at all of them. “nothing else worked, so why would this be different?” She’s completely fallen into the depths of despair and doesn’t realize that there’s still hope. Why should she keep putting on an act, pretending that she truly believes they can help her?
Not to mention, an awful lot of N25 events are mostly about either her or the group members helping her in some way. I don’t personally see a huge problem with this because 1) it’s HER sekai born out of her feelings alone so it really does make sense that a lot of the focus is on her and 2) each member discovers a part of themselves through her, out of the shared desire to disappear. People have completely forgotten that the rest of N25 has their own identities and feelings simply because “Mafuyu’s there too, so is it really their focus?” I do wish that Ena events could bring more focus to the severity of her desire for attention, instead of her being sad in art class for the 4th time, but that’s about it.

As someone who read all the main stories, it’s a bit disappointing seeing Leo/need and akito getting killed off 😭Personally my least favourite band story had to be vbs, but Leo/need was forgettable to me (Might be due to the fact it was the first one I read), I remember it being quite good and made me love Shiho a lot more. It’s sad to see people dismissing most of Leo/need (but they all love Saki, like c’mon she’s the most boring imo 😅surprised she even got top 5) even when they are my least favourite band (The other bands outshine them compared to “childhood friends play in a band”, the trope is still done very well though). I’m sure if they were in a game like Bandori instead, they’d get a lot more appreciation (Props to all Leo/need fans!!)
