Each day features key races, with the top days featuring the Tote sponsored Galway Plate on Wednesday and the Guinness sponsored Champion Hurdle on Thursday. Regardless, there are many exciting and high-quality races that take place every day. Monday evening is a meeting that features a variety of flat race contests. Tuesday's flat racing will feature the Colm Quinn Mile, which is a valuable prize. Wednesday's Jump's meeting is the first, with the prestigious Tote Galway Plate anchoring all the racing. Thursday's main event features more jump racing, with the Guinness Galway Hurdle being the highlight. Friday is very popular and locals attend. There are more high-quality jump races taking place. Saturday will see a return of flat racing, with the highly competitive Galway Shopping Centre Handicap being the feature. Sunday is the end of the racing week and is known as Mad Hatters Day. There will be flat racing action at the track and family entertainment in the background.
