Rhodochrosite is the national gemstone of Argentina. So this Thursday, could you make a video discussing about many different varieties of Opal? There are over 20 varieties of Opal from what I've heard on the website, Mindat. Some varieties of Opal are quite rare. Prase Opal is a variety of Opal with traces a Nickel or Garneirite Laterites. Isopyre is a impure very dark red variety of Opal. Yowah Nut is a variety of Boulder Opal in which Opal forms in concretions of Sandstone and only comes from the Yowah Opal Field in Queensland, Austrailia.
NAK I have seen several types of Opal and think it might go over 20 if you count Opalizied Pet. Wood and Potch is Opal also even if it is not gemmie. I have 12 different types of Opal 6 from the US but my Australian Yowahs 2pcs, Boulder Opals 4, Lightning Ridge has 3 Black, Dark, Crystal, plus western Australia has a new volcanic crystal Opal that is a yellow orange, aslo Andamooka Opals White Opals, then Hydrophane Ethiopian Opals 6pcs, Mexico has a few different types of Opal. So many Opals and varieties of host minerals and plants to form in. I love Opal and would love them to do a show of varieties of Opals
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Rhodochrocite is my favorite gemstone. I've been in love with it since I first saw an exhibit from the Sweet Home mine in the Denver Museum of Natural History! To me... it's the color of watermelon flesh. Too bad it's Mohs scale is so low. Thank you for celebrating the beauty of Rhodies! ❤
I thought there were some Rhodochrosite form Afghanistan, too? Could be wrong, just had a few friends form overseas comment about seeing some there but it being landlocked. Also, how close is Rhodonite to Rhodochrosite?
Ive never seen a rhodochrosite gem before, only stones, the opaque bacon stuff (heck i have one). And I've seen loads of bacon-type rhodochrosite in jewellery (lol can that be the official name?) even rings. Surprised me to learn they're so fragile
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Aren't you glad you found it...If you're in the US...Denver Museum of Natural History always have lovely exhibit of crystal Rhodies. To fragile for rings but great for earrings, necklaces, tie tacks, but I love it as specimens. Makes my heart dance!
Just like to say It is used in jewelry. I just had two nice crystals of Rhodochrosite cut and they look amazing delicate yes but for collectors much rarer than the "Bacon", or Stripped Rhodochrosite.
Hi there I have a piece that I found in a river in Ireland and since I picked up a bit of opal cutting recently I tried to cut it in a heart piece, but it's harder than quarts, it is dark blue to look at but hold in to the light it turns green and it is transparent any idea. (I like your show).
Natalie, the show is very informative and I love when you bring guests on, but for the love of education and oration; STOP interrupting your guests. I can barely understand what you are saying when you speak over someone, let alone speaking so quickly.

Your comment about getting the best specimen you can afford at the time is so true.
“1 2 3 bacon!” I wish it were that easy

There is rhodochrosite in Peru too, a lot, although there is very little in crystal shape, they usually come in little flowers and are clear pink.
I love when Elizabeth is on!! And what amazing specimens! I've never heard of that mineral before.
We love it too!
Idk why these videos don’t have more views. This is a great channel
It might have to do with the incessant yapping.
Sweet home mine Rhodochrosite doesn't look like bacon but it definitely looks like turkish delight 😍.

I prefer the ROM. When you say ROM, coming from IT Background , I was thinking ROM = READ ONLY MEMORY. I was glad you cleared that up.
Matpat from film theory got me into this channel.
BOB UNOWN so I'm not the only one good to know
Me too, but it was at the time he uploaded the video like four or five months ago.
Me to
And you didn't even say "flapjack." Nice of you. ^_^
LamanKnight now I wanna eat pancakes. And it's early in the morning. Nice.
0:06, 0:19 Now I'm just waiting for the words "mom" and "spaghetti" XD
Those crystals look like jolly ranchers.
Lol
Does anyone recommend anything I can do to learn more about gemology.
Crystal math, not to be confused with crystal meth.
Lol. Although... finding crystals gives me an ethereal high!
Review crystalized rose quartz its quite rare!
Please do a video about gem tools
I would love to see that collection!
Good video. I was going to say you left out South Africa, but you mentioned it later! SA produced some unbelievable rhodo plates.
Rhodochrosite from Maine as well!
Peru as well. Only it's lighter colored and the banding isn't as defined
Peru is good for those same type of scalenohedrons as South Africa.
You have to do a video on larimar!

What a winning combination. Intelligent, hot girls girls talking about gemstones and minerals. Such a channel!

One Gem is very Beautiful.
Rhom all the way! I have a pair of earrings with Rhodo Rhoms in a silver cage.
I like the rom and the cut gem. I gotta say, the gem is a very nice cut, so for that reason alone I'd take that one instead.
Rhodochrosite was very interesting! I may incorporate it into a story somehow along with Rutile!
Luv ur channel
