Good morning, we watch Your TH-cam videos on your trip to Australia what type grass mixer did they use in there pastures as we are raising goats and kathian sheep together
Its really cool that other people are calling Dorpers the Angus of the sheep breed - its actually a phrase I came up with to describe them in around 2007. Soph does a brilliant job and is a bloody legend of sheep breeding!
She's so inspirational and really makes me think that there is value in getting registered v good quality Dorper genetics when you are set up and experienced with sheep management
I always enjoy learning from your content. A sheep enterprise is something we are looking to add to our farm in the future. Thanks for all the great information and content.
This is a great film! I'm about 50km from Millmerran and we've had over 5" of rain for the last few weeks. So this place would be looking a million bucks right now.
Amazing we stayed at the beach in Brisbane just north of the city. Wonderful people and great place to visit. Got to see the glass mountains. So much to see so little time
Love the content. I have just a few acres to work with but I’d still love to do it. If I can get a few more acres that are adjoined to mine I want to try a tiny regenerate farming operation. I’m going to hang out here and enjoy your videos. I started awhile back but my work is up and down and we’ve been in the up side. Thank you much for your knowledge Andy
Howdy! I'm a 4th generation rancher from Texas. Our ranch turns 100 this year. We run dorper and merino. Althought the american wool lndustry is a lost cause so well likely only run dorper soon. I enjoy the videos. Its good to bring attention to the lifestyle.
Always a market for quality wool products but definitely takes time, money and desire to make it happen. Bought some beautiful wool rugs from a place in Paint Rock, Tx 30 or so years ago but they have long since shut down. Takes an internet business to prosper in such an enterprise now but would be nice to have a texas producer actually using their own merino wool to create wool clothing available. Wish you well whatever you do, Dorpers are definitely wonderful sheep.
Tough conditions and dedicated stockmen in South Africa has contributed to the breeding of several influential sheep breeds: Dorper Dohne merino SAMM And although not a sheep, the Boergoat is also a success story of note
Just now watching these videos on dorper great job shepherdess. I’m definitely thinking of getting white dorper for terminal. One question I had and didn’t hear in video is if there are any issues at lambing? I heard that texel, another great looking terminal breed but wooled, sometimes have problems lambing due to their stocky shoulders
Hi Shepherdess, I was wonder if you know of or have a list of companies that produce non-blended, natural fiber clothing. Hoping, hoping, hoping. keep up the good work. Phil
If you ever get a chance, try visit him in Namibia (close to Aroab region), he’s been breeding a new strain of dorper (red-brown-wool looks wise), they pretty much look like red heifers in sheep form🙂🐏

Thank you for supporting my efforts on the channel!
Great to hear Pat Coleby mentioned. Recently started reading one of her books.

"Australian relevant " what an important phase!
Did anyone explain to you the importance of the Black Headed Dorper strain?
Love your work! ❤
This gives me hope as I’m researching for a sheep that can stand these exact conditions in Northern California
Greetings to you, I respect your work. It is a very beautiful profession away from the noise of the cities. I love this profession very, very much.
Proudly South African.
Can you make a video comparing all the features of Dorper and avustralian White breed sheep in Australia?
You're awesome, Girl. Thank you
I wouldn't say the sheep are not fed grain, They are just not from a bucket.. Instead they plant the grain on the pasture LOL
It's the definition of pasture that's key there
Did anyone tell you about “Australian Square” sheep?
Tough conditions and dedicated stockmen in South Africa has contributed to the breeding of several influential sheep breeds:
Dorper
Dohne merino
SAMM
And although not a sheep, the
Boergoat is also a success story of note
The harvest must be a great experience
Hi from North Queensland Australia, good presentation thank you
Have you been to WA to see ian and di haggaty they farm 60000acers regenerate agriculture Worth a look 👏✌️👍
Where in WA?
Bennie means Western Australia, not Washington state, USA.
And their original ranch was at Wyalkatchem, near Wallambin Salt Lake. Now they have loads of properties all around Dowerin, Cunderdin and Meckering.
Thanks for your beautiful videos. How many babies are produced per 100 births in Dorper and Australian White breed sheep in Australia?
Great episode👍
Well done. You are getting good at this TH-cam thing. Great video
Full interview was excellent . Thank you
Great vids!

There is a shortage of sheep in Morocco
But Goats are better suited to desert regions than
sheep. Sheep do great here in cold & wet climates.
Thank you very interesting information tomorrow the 45 minute video.👍🏽❤️❤️❤️
She said 24-25 inches per year? We only get 15 inches per year here in Montana!
This enquiring mind would like to know if that includes your snowfall?
Hi Shepherdess, I was wonder if you know of or have a list of companies that produce non-blended, natural fiber clothing. Hoping, hoping, hoping. keep up the good work. Phil
Eyy! How awesome to see my grandfather and uncle’s sheep in Australia - from Namibian origin 🇳🇦- Samehaling Stud farm 👏🌎
If you ever get a chance, try visit him in Namibia (close to Aroab region), he’s been breeding a new strain of dorper (red-brown-wool looks wise), they pretty much look like red heifers in sheep form🙂🐏
Hi 🎉 I'm bangladesh 🇧🇩thanks 💚
What would be a good meat sheep bead for Oklahoma? On pasture
What’s the significance, or importance, if any, of the white & black headed ones ?….
Sou muito admirador da raça dorper, ainda pretendo ter essa raça quando tiver recursos
25 inch annual rainfall is pretty high for most of Australia 😂😂 you could raise any animal on that sort of rain 🤦🏼♂️
Your flock of sheep is amazing, how much does each sheep cost?
Very good documentary. Sometimes the accent was a little difficult, but overall a good starting point. It is very flat in that part of Australia.
Well done. You're just amazing
Great video! How well do you think the Dorper would adapt to the British climate with higher rainfall and cooler winters.
Most likely not as good as British breeds. Dorper don't fair as well in temperate areas.
Does she harvest and collect the peas, or she leave the herd to graze them?
