I absolutely adore your obsession with alcohol burners Ernie. This channel covers burners in a way that no other even comes close too and it is exactly what I want to see. Well done, you're an absolute legend.
The only thought that I had was to burn wood but you are right - get a Nano. The stainless by itself is only 2 ounces more than the titanium. I love your videos and try to find a video on something I am interested in buying before I buy it. Thanks and keep it up.
I had this stove in my cart for a long time. Just was not sure about it and I never pulled the trigger on it. Then I watched your video and decided to go ahead and dryer it. But just like you said, you made the video and they were gone. About a month ago they became available again. I ordered it and 2 weeks later it finally showed up. I have been intrigued by triangle shaped stoves for a long time. The first one I bought was the Expedition Research. I like it and still use it, but it has one flaw. It will fall apart in use if you bump it. I then bought the Trangia Triangle. Expensive but almost perfect. Almost because I use a lot of solid fuel, and I had to sacrifice a baking sheet to make a platform for my fuel tabs. The Esbit came next. Another that I do like, but I find it fiddly to put together and it is easily bent. When the Zen Camps pot stand showed up I could not wait to try it. It went together easily, is solid after together, and works equally well regardless of if I decide to use my Trangia, burner or solid fuel tabs. Plus it packs away very small, even smaller than the Esbit, Plus it cost less than either of my other triangle pot stands. You said in the video to prove you wrong. Well, I can not. It is perfect!
Glad you finally got around to one of my favorites I mentioned on one of your puck stove videos. It follows. I built an alcohol stove with an old Daisy pellet can I had laying around in 2017ish. I used some welders' carbon felt instead of fiberglass to absorb the liquid, no spills, some screening from a tea leaf strainer to hold the felt in place. It holds 2 oz. or 60 ml of alcohol and with 1 oz of fuel will burn over 15 minutes. I use a Zen Camps wind screen/burner that works with alcohol or solid fuel and, though not designed that way, have used a small twig fire inside. I like things that can work with multiple options. At 76 years old, I like things that work well rather than being the lightest thing in the world. Function over form as it were.7
I picked it up a while ago hoping it would be a cheap alternative to the Trangia Triangle. It works fine with Esbit cubes but with a Trangia, it gets way too hot since there's no gap between the burner and the stand walls. With the Trangia Triangle there's more space.
I had an Ernie moment last week. Bought my first trangia and also a trangia copy and boiled lots of water in preparation for my spring break trip coming up. It was so much fun. Thanks Ernie for the inspiration.
There's a reason why Trangias have a hole in the base so that the bulk of the alcohol is below the ventilated plate: in wind this stove will overheat, the alcohol can start boiling and flare up. It just needs a hole big enough to take the burner in that holey plate.
Hey Ernie, you can dip the little removable stand in the stove alcohol take out, it will hold some liquid in the tiny holes just enough to light it and use it to light the stove safely if you don’t have a long range lighter like yours. I have this and absolutely love it. “Don’t be blaming me if it runs out of stock”, love the comment and so true.😂
I have a love hate relationship with it. I have to use a wider pot to get good results. But nomatter what I do, it makes any stove extremely fuel hungry due to its breath ability. I do love how compact it is and lite weight. I want to love it I really do. I’m going on two years with it. It’s definitely not for smaller pots pots. The flame goes out around it.
I own the Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox Ultralight, but this stove looks like it has it beat! I don't think it will work as a mini wood stove ( the Bushbox Ultralight does, but only barely ) but for that price & size it seems close to perfect!
@@jarmosalonen2068 I'm using the x-boil FS75-85 in my UL tea/coffee kit these days. Like the ZEN the Bushbox UL is a bit more flexible regarding different pot sizes. The xBoil is impressive, but expensive compared to the ZEN, that is also unavailable in Switzerland.
I bought it while I was watching your video! It'll work great with my homemade Snus can puck stoves! I've been using an old military-type folding pot stand but it is a little heavy. It's $20.00 at Amazon TODAY.
This is slightly modified Trangia Triangle knock-off solving some of its limitations and probably cheaper. I personally would go with the Bushbox Ultralight, which looks more or less the same but is designed to work as a twig stove as well - has an opening on one side and the bottom plate is larger, so that the fire doesn't fall through. It is by far my favourite ultralight stand/stove. Use it usually with Toaks syphon burner, which together with a small bottle and a windscreen fit into my 700ml Snow peak mug. It's always good to have real fire as a back up. Thanks for the video, I appreciate you keeping us up to date with all these new devices.
I bought the zen pot stand on your recommendation. Love it! I prefer it to my larger, heavier round stand. And it’s much easier to pack in my emergency coffee kit.
I think the solid plate is the bottom and also serves as a primer plate and the plate with holes is like the diffuser plate from Evernew. Love your videos by the way
I appreciate they put in a cross bar piece as many of these types of folding stoves dont and so I have always thought they were only suitable for larger pots and pans
Ernie, have you reviewed the Bushbox Ultralight Outdoor Pocket Stove? It's very similar to this but also has wood-burning capability. Ive owned one for years. Its pretty good, however, it has two main cons in my opinion. The first is that the aperture for wood burning, plus the laser cut-outs in the other two sides, seriously reduce the stand's wind-shielding capability when used with a burner. The second is that the tabs to balance your pots on are sited to one end of each of its side, as opposed to the centre. This puts them further apart so it's difficult to balance smaller pots on them safely. Conversely, larger pots have greater stability, but I only ever use this stand with a SS mug on it. Having the pot tabs placed centrally, as in this Zen Camps stand, would definitely work better for my needs. For stability and peace of mind, I resorted to filing the pot tabs off so my mug now sits level on top of the stand. Anyway, another stove/stand to take a look at if you've not done so already.
Can't believe you still haven't checked out the Bushcraft essentials ultralight pocket stove. Been using one for years now - pretty sure I recommended it to you before... atb Andy
I like the look of it. I think I’ll add one to the gear box and try it out. I have been known to running to alcohol burners at a time for morning coffee, tea and hot chocolate for all five of us early in the morning
I added one of these to each of my three Trangia 25 kits as an auxiliary burner stand. Haha in before the sell out! The quality seems pretty good as one would expect from the Japanese glamping market. The ultimate would be one where the simmer ring is more functional. …like a triangle or the clikstand. Or maybe a stainless mojo stand…Oh well.
Thank you for this video. This pot stand/windscreen looks the same as one I got from Alli express some years ago. It’s still holding up well (no pun intended).
My immediate thought is use of the simmer ring on the trangia or similar stoves. These are £25 on Amazon UK, the Trangia Triangle is £28. It looks a great design tho if you use a bigger pot
Thanks Ernie. I've been looking for something flat compact simple effective and versatile. Looks like you found it and it's sold out almost immediately. Lol. I will keep checking back until it comes in stock. I'm sure companies love it when you make a video About their product
I do think this is a good deal, but yeah, it's a Firebox Nano Stainless with Stanley Two Cup and Two Bowl cooksets in my car camping vanlife camp kitchen. One fuel type you forgot to mention on the Firebox Namo is charcoal briquettes. Those aren't my go to, but if you are camping in a cold place with snow when everything is wet, a charcoal briquette is not a bad option because all the twigs are wet and other types of fuel may not work as well in low temps.
Nice one Ernie this is looking very cool, flexible, compact. All the good stuff. I’ve been searching for a really nicely integrated system similar to the now discontinued Sterno Inferno set. Heat exchanger pot, stove stand, stabiliser legs, optimised for alcohol stoves. Any ideas?
This has been on my list for a while. It is a direct competitor of the Trangia Triangle but one third the price and includes the solid fuel plate. Sadly, it will likely stay on my list for a little longer.
If you want a very coarse adjustment for simmer, I have a second trangia simmer ring I have drilled the rivet off to remove the sliding plate to leave just the one size hole. That's usually enough for most cooking I do. I can then take the plate part with me to stop the flame if I want and it still nests together.

Bushbox UL is quite poor as windscreen for spirit burner. I would have tried this ZEN one, but not available to Finland.

Anyway, I'm glad I've found my tribe.
They're pretty awesome. I've only had one trangia but ove been having it for over 10 years and it's always boiled my water :)

I have the Esbit version of this pot stand which I picked up long before the price skyrocketed. Love it.
I have both the Firebox Nano, Kuvik and Jolmo Lander stands to use with my Goshawk Swirling Flame. This reminds me of the Jolmo Lander.
Great pot stand. Love the adjustability.

This is so well thought out, absolutely fantastic product! Thanks for alerting us of it’s existence 🙏
Cool stove. You could put the solid plate on the ground and the perforated plate up and use wood pellets.
Once again your video has been up for 3 hours and it is sold out! But you are right, it looks really good.
Thanks Doctor Ernie for the video. I think it is pretty perfect, maybe titanioum would save a little weight, but not that much.
Wow, I just bought mine in time!
Dear Dr. Ernie, if your Wife said you could only have 1 stove from now on, which would it be?
Amazing review, as always! Love all your stuff.
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this informative video. All the best to you. Stay safe out there.😊
Would the trangia gas burner fit? Great video thank you Ernie!
as always.. lovin this content..
trangia all the way for me
( except when I'm in the mood for white box)..
keep going man.
That is brilliant for $20!
I have had the Argos titanium pot stand from Ali for a few years now, it's almost identical, but titanium. Same as the jolmo lander version i think?
Great value, and compact!
I like it. Unfortunately Amazon states it's not available 😞
Nice option! Totally want to add it to the collection and give it a try. :)

What was that blue-green blob that you used for a solid fuel fire? New to me and I've been a subscriber a long time. How about a video on it?
Polymath she'll stove 6.99 love it not sure if you can get it in the states
It's not available at all in Canada??
You should use a fan to test the wind resistance
Very good video. Did you get the box of MREs I sent to your office??
Thanks for sharing!!
Why don't Trangia ship the triangle to the states?
Good review, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Ooh! You use Suunto.

Not available!
Thank God it's already sold out otherwise I'd be buying yet another item I don't really need. 😅
No longer available. Just checked.
$20 does not get much nowadays. You should have tested to see how much weight it could hold. Something like a 6inch cast iron pan.
Should be a titanium option.
Did I miss the part telling us the weight? 🤔
I love my alcohol stove.....
Yes it's the xboil😂
7 plus camping stoves.
"Missed it by that much".

At GBP £40 on Amazon UK a bit much for what it is - Bezos must be running low on rocket fuel? 😂
😠 'Promo sm'
if you only have one stove, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU😊😊
20€? ok get a nice and big metal sheet. could be scrap. A metal saw, to cut it more or less, and a metal file to remove sharp edges.
Just had a look at these on Amazon UK. £50. That's $63 US. Welcome to rip-off Britain.
The US and UK are soooo different.
You can't even get the dzrzvd stove here in GB that Ernie reviewed recently.
