Syndicate gets a lot of hate unnecessarily. It has some of the best gameplay, combat, stealth and open world play. As a history nerd they did an amazing job at getting the setting right from the language to the clothing and weapons. And something everyone tends to overlook is the fact that Syndicate has the last official true assassins creed story. Assassins vs Templars.

I loved syndicate I think it had the best parkour stealth system in the series it was basically unitys system but improved upon

Combat is awful don’t kid yourself
not really last since origins is technically about assassin's vs templars but with different names as well as odyssey but in a different way
Doesn't Syndicate reuse the same animations as Unity?

Might have to give this another go. Just seemed a massive downgrade coming off the back of Unity but maybe I judged it too harshly.
