I was in Orlando when Milton passed right over us. Although it was in October the humidity was still very much in effect. Needless to say I’m glad to be back in the Northeast for cooler temps.
Looks like a beautiful location for a 3 day Festival. Fishing, swimming and paddle boarding during the day and playing music at night would be my ideal weekend! Enjoy.

Hi Leland! Being down in tropics… certainly a climate adjustment…. I was so excited today . Driving to the next village…. A Jaguar jumped right out in front of me … only touched the road once, bounced and kept going….. I was blown away, such agile, magnificent creatures…. Certainly made my day …. I saw the ant hole and it jogged my memory of a fire ant story from long ago. I'll try to make it short. I ate at a restaurant and got food poisoning. That night it was coming out both ends of me. The next morning at 6 A.M. I'm suppose to play golf with my buddy. I told my friend what happened but felt maybe the worst was behind and off we went. Were on the 6th hole when it hit me, I crapped myself (it came on that fast). I ran behind a tree to relive myself of my underwear. Not looking down I had dropped my pants on top of a fire ant hill. Standing in the middle of a fairway with just a shirt on I hurriedly pulled my pants on and started walking back to the golf cart. Suddenly I felt unthinkable pain in my groin area. I was covered in fire ants and they called out an all out assault on my privates. I started screaming in pain then without thinking I took my pants off and jump into the cart where my friend said "What the hell." Looking down he could see I was covered and under attack. He started trying to brush them off me. Imagine the scene from the other fairway as two guys are in a cart one's screaming in agony with no pants on and the other is making sweeping motions with their hand. And from that distance I doubt they could see the ants. We drove as fast as we could to the clubhouse and I rushed into the mens room (NO PANTS- AS WE ALL KNOW THEIR OVERRATED). I went in and in front of a sink I turned the faucets on full blast and started to get them off me. Next to the sink were three guys standing at the urinals. I was covered from my thighs to my bellybutton front and back. I ended up going to the emergency room where nurse Ratchet creamed me up and sent me home.
I first drove in Florida in 1978. My cousin and his wife worked at Disney. Pulling to the curb in respect for funeral processions several times a day I decided I didn't want to live there. Another reason I'm in Thailand.
Lyle's birthday, closed ice cream shops, dog crap; what could be better in Lee's day? Another tour of the facilities, starting with THE facilities! I imagine those folding plastic chairs will encourage the crowd to be SRO... DO NOT ENTER? Does apply according to The Rules of Sklar! And to think that it's all built on sand...
