    Would love for you to do series on striper fishing in Lake Texoma. Due to salt deposits in area is considered a salt water lake. Has around 6 million visitors a year. A lot of people go for guided fishing fishing trips year round. I believe a lot of people would watch the videos. Don’t forget to bring extra wind socks for the boat. It can be quite windy at times.

      Texoma is a numbers lake. You’ll catch a lot, but they very rarely catch any that are good sized on that lake. If you want big ones, come to Lake Ouachita or Beaver lake in Arkansas. I watched the guide pull up 3 around 30 lbs right next to me last week. That’s in addition to many more smaller ones they caught

    I'm surprised the spoon kings aren't using spoons. You guys are killer with the spoons. I bought some egg weights that have the guide to put fishing line in. Once it gets warmer I'll put a shad with good attractant on a dropper rig. When the grass grows an gets warmer it's a great rig to use when there's covor like grass pads or brush. Tie some heavy monofilament to braid an I'll be good to go 😊

      @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate that brother!!! Thanks! I love the information you share in your comments.
      When the fish are blowing bait up to the surface we go horizontal with the baits. If the fish were under thick bait schools we would definitely be dropping spoons👍👍. These bait schools were not thick, they were scattered all over the surface because they were tiny. When them big baits school from bottom to surface it’s definitely SPOON TIME 😁.

    What that blue rod and spinning reel combo ?

    • @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS
      @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a Daiwa Saltist 2500. The rod is my newest signature rods. The Judge. It’s a very high end rod designed for throwing anything. It’s very light and balanced even though it appears heavy. There is a counter weight system in the butt to make the tip super light. That, coupled with the carbon fiber grips on a Rainshadow blank you can throw 3/8 oz baits or 3oz baits. It casts a mile and you can use it all day without having fatigue. Rich Coulson makes them. His email is in the description. He’s very talented and makes all of my Signature rods. He’s a retired Marine too. 👍👍

      I didn’t say I didn’t like Shimano just not a big Shimano guy. 😏 I probably have 30 Calcuttas😁 seriously. Their DC baitcasters are pretty amazing. You have to be careful with Shimano because they have so many different price point reels. I got away from them because of that, but I recently tried the new SLX reels like in this video and they are killer. This is a $130 reel and I love it. I got a few of the DC versions with digital brakes and wow! They are insane for $180. 👍👍
