my favorite thing that cade does is that he is patient and methodical while coming off a pick. He's kind of like a surgeon in a pick in roll. His game is just that calm. he's definitely a very impactful player when he's in the game
No he wasn’t. He was an inefficient scorer his first 2 years improved and was good for his 3rd year and is now playing really good overall. He’s always had the talent but it’s an extremely casual take to say “Cades been good for years casuals just haven’t been keeping up” when he’s been in the league for only 4 years and only really good for 2
He signed the extension because no one in history has said no to their rookie extension offer. I wouldn't say he for sure will be a Piston forever. In 3 years or so he could start looking out if they dont get deeper in the playoffs (which they may)
Love the fact that there wasn’t the big BUT… in this video; all these videos about Cade is like “Cade is becoming really good BUT…” but nothing, bro really is on his way to becoming a top 10 player.
As a Detroit fan, I've noticed that he's been capable of this but you can't show your best when playing a team sport as a solo player. He had no real support whatsoever which forced him to have to make it happen alone. This left him dealing with doubles, triples, walls, and no one making his passes to them count. He just needed help and I was so excited when those trades happened. Making the play in was having high hopes before but now I'm rooting for a round 2 run. It's a high hope for sure but with the right matchup, I can see it happening. I'm so happy for them.
I’m glad that Cade is finally getting attention this year, he had a really nice season last year that went completely unnoticed due to the pistons struggles as a whole
The impact Trajan Langdon has made by finally bringing in some quality vets to surround Cade and compliment this young Pistons roster cannot be overstated. The newly established veteran presence has not only lead to a vastly improved product ON the court, but the Pistons are also developing a culture and an identity in the locker room as well, and the effect it’s had on Cade and his teammates has been tremendous. For the first 3 years of his career, not only was Cade dealing with injury issues but like 70% of his teammates were literal G Leaguers. Malik, Tobias and THJ are not only obviously CAPABLE of knocking down those open shots that Cade creates, but they also garner enough respect from defenses to where they can no longer completely sag off and blitz Cade the second he drives inside the 3 point line. Now that the Pistons have competent spacing Cade not only gets to the cup more but he finds himself in more favorable one on one matchups which has allows him to utilize his much improved post game when he gets into the paint, an element of his game we seldom saw in the past. Watching Cade and this young Pistons team grow from perennial losers to a rising, competitive and entertaining squad in just one season has been incredible.
@@AnthonyJones-j6g it doesn’t matter whom Troy was “tied to”. What matters is who he actually brought in. He gave Cade a bunch of G-Leaguers and former draft busts hoping to strike gold rather than actually making a concerted effort to surround our young core with competent complimentary pieces.
He's never bad. His teammates and coaching were always the issue. Surround him with half decent players and better coaching and he's slowly showing why he was the #1 draft pick.
Pistons’ fan from Detroit, Cade’s evolution right in front of our eyes has been stellar, glad he got some better contributors in regards to floor spacing, just imagine having some all star level talent around Cade how good him and the team would look
@@falconhoward4032 yeah I never liked either of those draft picks lol I was disgusted when they picked Holland and Ausar. I didn't expect ausar to be this awful of a shooter. He had a good jumper in the league he was in before the draft. Idk why he's so bad in the league as a jumpshooter
hes really stepped up as a defender too. last year i noticed him taking lots of plays off and getting beat, this year thats way different and its leading to more wins
Pistons fan here, Cade has always been good but he is absolutely taking it to another level this year. Biggest thing he’s improved on of late is cutting down on his turnovers and his defense. He has never been close to this level in his career before, but he has always been a great player even when the Pistons were at their lowest.
Main reason is that he's one of the first players available in 2K for my 11 year old who finally likes basketball because of 2K. This has effected the universal spectrum where Cade is at peak video game mode at all time. Fairly obvious.
As a Pistons fan. I had no question. He was always a hall of fame walking. He is the most complete player ever. Handle, pass, scorer all 3 level. Defense block, steals. Rebound
The game at msg proved he can be more than an all star, but a future top 10 level talent. He’s getting really confident and the pistons as a whole are finding a true identity
He’s always been elite, he just straight up had no spacing around him. They added two 3 point specialists around him and it completely opened up his game
Cade was drafted at the star of a tank job, he was playing with a bunch of children, the Pistons were also attached to Blake Griffins contract for most of his career which gave them negative cap flexibility.
Great video and the first point you made is the main reason for Cade's improved play. Det improved the roster and actually gave cade some spacing. Last year I believe DET was one of the worst 3pt shooting teams in the league
Crazy how people wrote him off when he was starting games with Hayes, a rookie Ausar, an out of position Stew at the 4, and Duren. There were possessions where the Bucks quintuple teamed Cade lol
He's been developing every year. He was injured one year but outside of that he has shown promise each year. He's better than LaMelo and Jalen Green for example, and they have giant deals for their teams
He's been good his entire career. Despite having a single festering injury since high school, that was finally corrected with surgery. Cade has been on terrible teams. Last year, Cade had a coach who was *literally* trying to get fired, as he only took the job in the 1st place for the largest bag in NBA history up to that point... Monty Williams said as much in his 1st presser with Detroit! I can only hope the organization has done enough to convince Cade to stay past his current contract... Everybody has been sleeping on the piston right now. From the worst league last season to cracking the .500 winning percentage this season. That is a huge leap. I remember Kyle Kuzma mocking these Pistons team the previous year. Cade is a good young leader. Doesn't force anything. Has a high basketball IQ. He can take over the game whenever he wants because of his size and skills advantage at the point guard position. Doesn't take silly shots. He let the game come to him. And that's rare to see from these young leaders nowadays. Unlike ANT's" DON'T DO OVERTIME EDWARDS."
Cade is a beast. As a Hornets fan I’ve seen him play multiple times a year. And he’s been a dog. With semi proper spacing and a coach that isn’t actively trying to sabotage the team, he’s putting the league on notice. He’s like a lesser version of Luka on offense, plus damn near ELITE perimeter defense.
I wouldn’t say elite. I’d say average to slightly below on any regular possession but when needed it elevates. It’s like he locks in for those moments . It’s clear that there is an effort which is very commendable. For a primary facilitator and ball handler, that is a plus in my book.
JB is saving Detroit.. Cade exploding and Ivey returning to form. Duren showing defensive prowess and Thompson looking effective. He turned all these dudes around
Cade is now surrounded by veterans who can knock down shots. Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway (I know he's inconsistent) to name a couple. Moreover, Jaden Ivey was playing better before going down with an injury.
This is what happens when you give him spacing and a decent coach lol. His coach last year was actively working to lose and giving him 2002 3 point spacing
