      Hello and yes still using the LB to commute to the next village. Lost my gopro8 while diving off the Isle of May hence the lack of upto-date moto vlogs - however - I intend to get another gopro to shoot more vlogs next summer on the Surron. Yes you can ride this bike with a car licence but you will be restricted to 30mph just as you would if you bought a petrol moped. I got my insurance from Bike Sure with my Motorcycle Action Group membership discount.

    Exellent vid m8 i am on the fence about getting one 50 yrs old full bike licence but fed up with getting ninja 636 out of steep akward garden would like one of these to keep in house.did you get the fox helmet.

    • @vincentjohnston8789
      @vincentjohnston8789 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did get the Fox Helmet but I probably use my AGV bike lid more as it has the tinted visor for sunny days. You would have no problem wheeling a LB up and down moderate slopes. The Ultra bee is 25 kilos heavier but it's going to do 10mph faster than a LB and may have a longer range. I still prefer the LB as the battery is quick release. I would probably get a Talaria Sting next if I were going to add another bike to the family - both bikes are about the same. So far the Surron has been solid and reliable - it's like the Honda of Electric Mountain Bikes

    How tall are you? I didnt expect that your feet would barely touch? Im not particularly tall so was curious if I would have the same issue (also where can you get these insured in UK)

      Hi I'm 5' 4" and so the LB is fine considering its low weight - I would probably be ok on a Talaria Sting as well with its higher seat height - at the time of making this video only the LB was available Street Legal. I would perhaps if the need arose try a Talaria road legal in future. For me the ability to reload the battery in under 10 seconds is one of my favorite features of both these bikes :)

      @@vincentjohnston8789 thanks, I am considering a Talaria sting atm which Ive heard is a bit higher up but I take it being 5'9" wouldnt be an issue then? Was a bit concerned as lots of 6ft plus guys were saying the Sting is much bigger and more suited to their stature!

    • @vincentjohnston8789
      @vincentjohnston8789 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GuideOfGamers yes as both these bikes are the same, the Talaria would be the better fit for you as on the LB even my feet feel a little bit too high up on the pegs - I am used of riding petrol sports bikes. But that's a minor thing - what I will say is the stock seat on the LB is quite hard which is ok for shorter commutes. Perhaps there are some more padded after market seats out there, but as I only trave very short distances it's not worth the investment.

      I've since sat on the Talaria Sting and to be honest, I'd say both bikes are the same seat height - couldn't tell the difference, however the Talaria is approx 10 kilos heaver - a little bit more noticeable but not really an issue :)

    Hey do you need license to ride Surron in uk especially LIGHT BEE L1E and do I need to do test if I’ve already got drivers license?

    • @vincentjohnston8789

      you can ride this bike as long as it's restricted to 30mph like a petrol moped - with a full car licence. Hope that helps :)

    Great upload, upload more on how to charge it etc, just a few questions, how much does it cost to full charge ? How much is your insurance on it ? Can you ride on motorways A roads etc ? I passed my driving test before feb 2001, it says you can ride a certain power bike with no l plates or full license does this comply ?

    • @vincentjohnston8789

      Hi! thanks for your positive feedback. In the Uk, the Surron Road Legal would be classed as a Moped so not allowed on Motorways but allowed on all other major A roads, B roads. The answers to your questions will be covered in the next motovlog which I still need to edit, however, in the UK if you have a full car driver's licence you can ride the Road Legal Surron (which has number plates) as long as it's restricted to 30mph so it is classed as a Moped - I would recommend getting your full bike licence to enjoy the full potential of this bike. If you buy the off road Surron - you don' need a licence or insurance as you will be riding it on private land. Insurance-wise the Surron is extremely cheap for 3rd party fire and theft - my Surron insurance is cheaper than my insurance for the Triumph Trekker e bike (which has peddles) so approx $147 - AND - my insurance includes break down recovery so if I did run out of juice in a remote area I can call for help - not that I would ever allow myself to end up in that situation - I always plan my rides. Cost of charging is minute - approx 30 pence or 30 cents and takes 2.5 to 3 hours to fully charge. Hope that answers your questions.

      Yes I am blessed to live in a rural area with much less traffic :) As soon as I get to about Newcastle that's when you see the increase of cars on the roads. I avoid riding in the rain where possible, the bike is now in hibernation for the winter - am using an Ultra Light Mountain bike (no motor) to ride on the snow and ice. I must crack on and start editing the other two moto-vlogs - safe riding!!

    Is it limited to 30mph to be road legal ?

    • @vincentjohnston8789
      @vincentjohnston8789 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not limited to 30mph to be road legal - IF - you have your full motorcyle licence (and you'll need insurance). If you only have a provisional licence or a car licence in the Uk, you can ride a Surron LB road legal restricted to 30mph - just as you would if you were to ride a petrol moped. Hope that helps

      I've now sold the bike and given away some Surron riding gear - due to severe winter weather conditions here in the Uk. I have taken a side step into the wonderful world of the Eovolt 'Afternoon' folding e bike which is Ultra practical and fits into the back of my Mini. I'll be shooting a bike review and adventure vlogs this summer - the bike might even be available in N Zealand?? :)

      These bikes can be used in rural and city environments as long as you are aware of how much distance you can go on a full charge. The downside of these bikes being so light is that they are easier to steal if left unattended too long
