sir cant we directly connect 4-20ma signal to analog input of PLC? why convert it to voltage signal?

If PLC has Analog Input, You can connect it directly.
If PLC has digital inputs only, you can not connect it directly.

So i should connect negative terminal of pressure sensor with current input as analog input and connect its common M terminal with negative terminal of DC supply?
