0:51 Yeah, if the trailers were any indication (which they were), Andy is voiced by Veronica Taylor, and he sounds EXACTLY like Ash! It's perfect!
1:48 No airports, huh? ...What's an airport, again?
4:06 To be fair, Veronica Taylor stopped voicing Ash a LONG time ago (as in, over 15 years ago).
8:56 Okay, I'm almost certain this is Patrick Seitz.
9:09 Yeah, that would have been... _interesting,_ considering certain real-world events...
14:09 Well, technically speaking, Andy doesn't, but that's his whole thing, he's the balanced one.
17:13 These animations are amazing and I can't wait to see them all!
27:09 ...That was way too close.
32:19 But if that's the case, couldn't you also have used Ghon-wait, no, never mind.

    • @BigKlingy
      @BigKlingy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

0:51 And even though she hasn't voiced Ash for a long time, it's fitting we're getting a tribute to the character after the anime retired him.
17:13 They went WAY harder on them than I ever expected, especially Sensei's.

    • @jaredfayette2567
      @jaredfayette2567 ปีที่แล้ว

@@BigKlingy I'm personally seeing some kind of bigger defense boost than normal, but I also like to imagine something like this as well/instead [Mild XC3 Spoiler Warning for Passerbyers]...
Monica's CO Power: Rallying The Lost Numbers- For every city you own, you get a new infantry unit to spawn in on each one (or a space near it if it's occupied; if no available spots are on or directly around that city, you don't get one there) and for the rest of that turn (or until the start of your text; not sure how long a "turn" is in AW if it includes your actions only or your's plus your foes') they get a decently sized defense buff (maybe 20-30%ish) and all infantry get one extra move. Maybe that's way too broken, but I wanted to try and replicate stuff about the Lost Numbers given she leads them, ranging from wanting to rally more people to fight Moebius, to their tactics from being mostly light infantry men or how they're very much a hit and run kind of group as we see with their raids and the larger defense boost of course repping Monica's Lost Vanguard class. Also kind of wanted to do something with transport choppers to mimic how much the Lost Numbers use their transport crafts to help with their speedy assaults, but I feel like that'd be too broken on top of what I already have in mind.
      End.

2:40 I now head cannon Nell as being really nice, but also very politely roasting people.
9:11 Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Olaf look more like Santa Claus originally? Or maybe it was just a mod I saw of him.
15:42 That is good to know... definitely did not have to restart a map multiple times because of a later CO's power activating at the worst time for me and destroying a large part of my army...
Mission 6 is all I will say on that for now...
28:54 A moment of silence for the lost infantry squad.

2:40 She totally would. (Andy gets surprisingly good with roasts at times later on, although he's roasted far more)
9:11 In the Japanese version, yes. He also had an unlockable pallet that turns his outfit red and his beard white.
15:42 That... can happen. It's why I like checking their meter. Especially with Adder in AW2 and his "you look at my Md Tanks funny and OOPS I JUST GOT MY SUPER!" gimmick...
28:54 RIP first loss this campaign, I think.

Nell! When you don't feel about believing in the defense stat. Specially in AW2.
2:27 They know the meme. Still waiting to see if "what's an airport" got voiced.
3:44 Hm, I kinda do hear it a bit. Ash isekai'd himself into Advance Wars after finally retiring from animes.
4:53 To be more specific, i'll throw some important numbers here (this is without firepower nor defense bonuses, full HP):
    · Tank vs Tank: 55% (the standard mirror match numbers)
    · Tank vs Anti-Air: 65% (one part of Advance Wars' "weapon triangle")
    · Tank vs Battle Copter: 10% (another part of the "weapon triangle", which you can probably guess by now)
    · Tank vs Artillery: 70% (As Nell said, keep your Artillery away from tanks)
    · Tank vs Infantry on a city: 52% (so you would need two tanks to completely cancel a capture. But one hit tends to be enough for a turn)
As you can tell, tanks are very important
5:50 I'm not gonna do the same for Artillery, just assume around 80% damage on anything that's within its price range, but also 50% to Md. Tanks. And that anything which isn't an infantry will do that much damage to it (I think Infantry vs Artillery is like 20%...?)
7:13 Which means we'll have the Black Hole COs emote! ([REDACTED] already did that, but eh)
8:53 It's time for Olaf! (General of the Winter!) It's time for Olaf! (Don't you call him Santa Claus!)
...a friend made lyrics for a bunch of COs in his Let's Plays of Advance Wars and dammit they are catchy. I am not sorry.
9:02 *ahem* yeah, good that they didn't go with that...
9:50 It's as incredible as it is rare. Full HP mech too.
15:20 Also I'm not sure if this also happens here, but in Dual Strike infantry were worth way less power charge than other units. To try and prevent mech spam.
15:45 Some AW fangames explain it as "some people can get the energy of their fallen allies and use them with a CO Power". But "we have magical powers fueled by bloodshed" is funnier.
16:43 Ah, so Advance Wars 1's universal bonus is 10/10. Neato. Anyway, luck damage expanded! I'll let past Klingy do that.
23:04 Rip stars, they're now squares (for context, the power meter in AW2 used to be indicated by stars. I imagine some whoopsies will happen of calling them stars anyway)
24:00 No, that infantry didn't do 6 damage from a 42%, the mech was just at 51 health (would be a max luck roll were we not Nell)
27:04 fyi, that engagement is a 94-102%. So it could have been a one shot. Still really hurts.
32:41 Ah yes, Days of Ruin. Where the final boss had a 50/50 day to day with Andy Super Power heals (which thankfully cost him money) and also a giant fortress. Because the old man in a wheelchair was too underwhelming.
Oh, uh, I should probably mention where I got all these numbers from. Because no, I don't know all these from memory. The damage calculator from Advance Wars by Web, link down below.

I used a full health mech on the mountains to get the medium tank closer so my artillery could blast it, so I didn’t end up losing any units and routed the map instead of capturing the HQ. Still a valid way of doing this map though!

Yeah, that is definitely Veronica Taylor as Andy. And it certainly sounds like Patrick Seitz as Olaf.
Yeah, there's a field training map that demonstrates weather and CO Power, specifically Olaf's CO Power. Nell cannot use her CO Power in the field training, but she can in this map that used to be a Field Training map. What's funny is that the map that covers CO Power also cover weather as flagging causes the map to rain, to demonstrates Olaf's weakness.
Another thing to note is that it kinda remembers where the music stop so it doesn't repeat.
Yeah, you can replay missions. Also, Days of Ruin also has Trial Maps, which are similar to the War Room maps.

One thing I always loved was when you unlocked the DoR Trial Maps that were classic War Room ones like Duo Falls. Unfortunately you had fixed COs for them. But DoR's CO-less Trial Maps tended to be horrible. ("Time Map". 4 players, two with 10 Mechs and two with 10 Megatanks, missile silos everywhere. GOOD LUCK getting an S Rank, since it's entirely dependent on who the AI Mech army decides to launch missiles at...)

I got zero connection to Advance Wars myself, but I still wanted to check this out and watch as it unfolds since it is all new to me. So far I like it. And I bet part of what drives you to make this Let's Play is to show this franchise to people who haven't seen it before, so it checks out. 9:04 Marshall Nova is a national treasure. I looked up a lot of Battalion Wars after April Fools, and I think that game deserves it's own special alert. Ahem. *"WARNING! The following is a Parody! Do not talk like these characters in their real-life nationality counterparts! They WILL be offended! You have been warned!"*
17:09 I kind of miss the Fates and Shadows of Valentia style critical cut-ins. This is proof that they could have kept getting better.

4:25 Actually yeah, in Fire Emblem terms Tanks are VERY comparable to Cavaliers. Medium Tanks are more like Great Knights: more power and defense, slightly less movement. Neotanks introduced in SW2 are Paladins. (Better move and still strong)
9:04 Battalion Wars was made by Brits and I can really feel the influence of WWII satire in it. I find it interesting how differently the US and UK dealt with war media, while America tends to take its military very seriously, the UK developed a very dark style of ironic comedy over the war as a coping mechanism.
17:09 I originally hated the lack of cut-ins in Engage when I first saw footage, but it grew on me. I'd still like to see SoV-style ones come back though.

17:09 Beautiful and smooth! I love the motion. Bit odd to note, but this kinda thing I'd expect to see in a Pokémon battle. Remember how Battle Revolution would show your character doing a dramatic finger point when you used a priority move or got a critical hit? Stylizing that with something like this would be cool.

2:28- Andy I knew you were dumb enough to forget about a certain thing we'll see later (not spoiling that gem for those who've yet seen it), but to not even know strategy is bad even for you! lol
2:38- Nell's face is perfect here with that expression after Andy said that. You can tell she's painfully thinking, "... And this is the future generation I'm supposed to train? Oh no..."
9:10- I kind of wished they made him look a bit like Santa Claus since I know in the JP version (at least in the OG games), he had a white beard and I wished I could joke about war monger Santa. Xp (And that laugh at 29:50 isn't helping my want of Santa Olaf.)
10:27- Wait it's in a single turn and not in general? ... Well that explains my more dubious power scores on some maps when I tried playing OG...
15:57- At least they loving poke at the absurdity of the CO powers.
17:20- But the animations in the remake are so FRIKIN good.
28:54- No! We made Nell cry Klingy! How awful! And don't forget those poor troops...
32:20- So to summarize why he has it... THE POWER OF AUSTRALIA! (Sorry, wanted the excuse to shout it after Klingy did yesterday. lol)
34:07- Really nice they allow you to be able to replay missions like this; In my run, I was kind of getting fed up with how I kept barely surviving some maps and had very scuffed rankings that mocked me and being unable to retry made that all the more worst. Good the remake allows for you to try again so I can instantly get back at a map if I need to and give my best.
In other news, since I have the Switch Online Services, I noticed a trial thing for Star Wars Republic Commando, and I figured why not try it. Despite it being a bit hard and me not exactly being the best at shooters, I'm having a lot of fun and might actually get it before the trial expires. Already beat the first mission. Died a crap ton, but still had a good amount of fun and I am really liking the gameplay so far, especially with the squad commands and actually having really good partner AI provided I lead them correctly.
And now, time for my little logs for my themed/challenge run of Falsebound Kingdom...
    __________________________________________
Falsebound Kingdom Swords and Sorcery Run- Session 1 Part 1- Mission 1 "War Campaign": Only Swords and Stalling.
Starting up the file, we get Yugi and friends arriving at SIC Labs. As they explain, these labs are apparently some gaming company working on VR stuff. As for why they're here, unlike Kaiba who got "invited" for a business deal, Yugi was amongst the top ranked duelist in Duelist Kingdom and Battle City to get an invite to help test the game and were welcomed to bring friend along. Yugi being Yugi of course brought his friends (the usual three of Joey, Tea, and Tristian plus Bakura). Next is a decent joke, though one that has admittedly got annoying as I got older, eventually Tristian teases how it was Yugi who got an invite but Joey didn't with Joey trying to refute it saying they probably sent his to the wrong address, which Tristian refutes. Though the moment does give some funny banter between Joey and Tristian, that joke does Joey DIRTY given he was runner up in DK and 4th in BC (which REALLY should have been 2nd place if it weren't for Shadow Games BS that robbed Joey of the win against Marik). Stop doing my boy dirty game! Anyway, eventually the SIC rep, Isaono, picks them up, walks them to their labs, and overhears their remarks about him used to be working for Kaiba before explains Project Kingdom, the VR world they're working on. Though unlike Kaiba who got amusing type casted to the Royal Guard in the VR world, Yugi and friends get type casted as the rebels working to take down the empire. With that, they all get strapped in for the game with Yugi being excited for it, although the Pharaoh/Yami Yugi gets a bit concerned when something feels off, though Yugi tells him he's being overly paranoid. Unfortunately, Yami Yugi was correct as eventually Kingdom eventually "messes" up, locks the game down, and traps everyone into the game. Eventually Yami Yugi wakes up to a concerned voice checking on him. This voice turns out to be Shimon (also known as the guardian figure who looked out for you in Forbidden Memories or more amusingly to me, the guy who isekais you into the War of the Roses in Duelist of the Roses), who is concerned about you randomly passing out during their meeting. Yugi asks for more details and Shimon basically explains how we're the leader of the Resistance on Vaxi Island in the fight for freedom against the Empire and explains all the basics of the game to us (and unlike Marthis, isn't a trash advisor and one we can trust. I will take dunk on Marthis, even if we're not doing Kaiba's story). And for our first major objective, we're going to liberate the island one piece at a time by first taking over the Makhad Providence given the Empire's in a state of confusion and being our best bet to grow the Resistance now. After that, Yami Yugi and normal Yugi begin to recap their situation and try to figure out what to do. They soon work out that maybe since they're in a game, if by beating it, they might find a way out of here of the game as they also search for their friends who are currently MIA. Normal Yugi agrees on this plan and that'll be the last time we'll be hearing from him until the final pre-credits scene. Yep, he's gone for the rest of the game. Guess this is his odd punishment for not taking the Pharaoh's warning seriously earlier [note, further mentions of Yugi will mean the Pharaoh/Yami Yugi]. With that intro done, we can now ready our teams for Yugi and Shimon... And Fizdis. Yes that's actually her name and yes she rarely gets no lines, hence her random inclusion here. Though good on her for being promoted from the nameless servant girl only in one or two scenes for Forbidden Memories to playable character here in Falsebound. Although for teams, we're only going to have one usable team for Yugi as we only have two monsters we can use for now with the ruleset of only using Warriors and Spell Casters. Let's talk about them.
First is Celtic Guardian, the in my opinion, unsung hero of carrying you through early game normally and will be even more important to keeping us alive here. First off are his stats. He is THE best monster you have stat-wise, boasting alright HP, excellent Atk (that will only grow even better), and especially important, 3 starting AP [for those new, AP is action points, the amount of times you're allowed to do something in a fight, which is the King of Stats in Falsebound is it dictates your action economy for both you and your foes]. Guardian is just an incredibly solid monster all around and is an amazing asset to the run. I would normally go over how nice being a warrior type monster is in Falsebound, but that's a moot point given our monster pool in this run. Only real issues he has is that eventually, competition for him will only grow more throughout the run and he might need to leave Yugi's team. while he'll enjoy snowballing early on by getting the bonuses from Yugi for a long while, he may need to give up his spot, especially when his great stats start to pale in comparison. Just a fantastic starter monster in general whether it be for normal play or challenge runs. Rating: 8/10 [maybe 7/10 later on] (+Great Starter Monster Overall, +Best Stats are Atk and AP, which are great to excel in, +Will snowball for a while due to (most likely) being used in Yugi's team, +Best Monster You'll have for most of the early game, - Stats might fall off later, - Competition Can Easily pick up later, especially for a team slot on Yugi's]).
And for the other monster we have at our disposal, Beaver Warrior. Beaver Warrior is also quite good to have at the start, boasting similar stats to CG above, including even 3 AP. However Beaver Warrior differs in being more defensively focus, having more HP (which it grows surprisingly well) and Def (which isn't exactly good in Falsebound as it applies to only guarding) at the expense of having less atk. The difference seems small at first since it's only a 100 point difference, but CG's and BW's attacks quickly grow a part with BW being a bit lack luster later on. Though the less attack sucks, its bulk gives it some use, being on the the tanker monsters you'll have until the end of Early Game, which is appreciated since it means it'll need less healing overall (or will be using healing items more as to not waste a monster who actually has a good attack stat since its own DPS makes it okay with not attacking every turn). It's a solid monster overall like Guardian, though I don't think they'll age as well as the run goes on, especially with how the rule set works that will eventually split him apart from Yugi, meaning they don't get to snowball as much. Overall, Beaver Warrior will be a very helpful addition to the run, though he's probably going to get out done faster than Celtic Guardian. Rating: 7/10 (+Also solid stats overall, including AP, +Decently bulky thanks to its great HP, +Better user of healing items since its DPS isn't as always needed, - Less Atk hurts their damage potential a lot, - Will be forced off of Yugi's Team early and loses access to snowballing, - Suffers even more from better competition than CG does).

With those two in hand, we slap Beaver Warrior onto Yugi's team next to Celtic Guardian, fix up the other teams (though only Yugi's will be fighting, the others will be VALUABLE in being meat shields), and go on our way. We start in the first map, where Shimon tells us that instead of rushing towards Makhud and taking on the governor there, we should secure the local villages first, namely the one to the north east of our base. And we... Instead go directly into the woods to fight Silver Fang, a wild monster encounter, for both being a "mandatory" fight via our rule set (and to also skip the text box tutorials about combat). And by "fight," I mean guarding the entire time to win by points (fights in Falsebound, if neither team is wiped out, is decided by points based on your actions and guarding the entire time against SF guarantees a win). Normally I would knock out Silver Fang for EXP, but the thing is that we only have 2/3rds of a team at our disposal and the first mission, barring outside of the very slow passive healing in bases, has us with NO means of healing, so we need to be VERY careful in this first mission with our HP. After defeating Silver Fang, they join us as per beating a wild monster encounter, but he's a beast, so that doesn't matter. We then take the first town and Etos, the boss of this level, sends out his only mook to attack us. While waiting for him to arrive, I found a glitch; So on that Mook's team is Zarigun, a monster with Water Adept, which would give him a buff if he were fighting on water... BUT for some reason, when that enemy team was traveling on a mountain, Zarigun was getting buffed. According to Falsebound, Mountains = Water. Doesn't factor in, but funny to note. Dealing with this team was easy, though I was practically praying for no crits from the enemy or that would screw us over. We eventually win, but we need to wait a while to heal up. We also take the bottom town with Fizdis for extra money. When we're decently healed up, we begin fighting the boss, which was going well as we took out his first monster and harmed his ace a bit, Blackland Fire Dragon. When begin charging into the base again, only for disaster to happen; The mook team respawned and we had to fight them again. That doesn't sound bad at first since it means more EXP, but they badly wound Celtic Guardian, meaning if we want to win, we need to go back to one of our bases and SLOWLY heal up again, which we do. Not only that, BUT it became night time, meaning we need to waste even more time since now Blackland Fire Dragon is being buffed by their Night Adept skill. So you'd think it'd just be more waiting at this point... Unfortunately while waiting, that mook came back AGAIN and since we were still healing up, Shimon needed to go on body blocking duty for a LONG time. I'm not sure how well words can do it justice about how long this took, but it must have been dozen of fights of just Shimon's team guarding until Yugi's team was decently healed enough to kill the mook again (didn't need to be fully healed to fight due to respawned teams only having half of their max HP when they come back), but it just meant EVEN MORE waiting to heal up... Wait meant the Mook came back FOR THE THIRD TIME and Shimon's team wasn't able to body block as well, especially since one of his monsters, Zombie Warrior [Note: Despite the name, Zombie "Warrior" isn't a Warrior Type, but a Fiend type so it's not allowed, but I could see one jokingly allowing them to be used given their name; Just clearing that up now,] died while meat shielding in. Thankfully we already had Fizdis marching in to relieve Shimon of guard duty and she became the meat shield. To give you an idea of HOW long it took to get to this point in the battle, Shimon himself (since "Marshals", or Team Commanders also gain EXP) went from Level 1 on this level... To FRIKIN 12 before Fizdis took over for him. She held up not as well since one of her monsters, Penguin Solider, would also die while meat shielding, but thankfully while she was taking a pounding, Celtic Guardian was at like 80% of his max health, the night time was going to be over soon (as in if we marched to the boss at that point we would be there by sun rise and thus Blackland's Night Adept would be off), we had Yugi sprint to the boss. After the longest frikin night in Falsebound Kingdom and in comes the new day, Celtic Guardian and Beaver Warriors' combined efforts were able to knockout Blackland Fire Dragon, leaving the boss with only Basic Insect. You can see how screwed he was and we FINALLY won the fight. Shimon lies out his ^ss when he said it was a splendid first fight, but it was the first major victory for the Resistance, support is starting to come in, and we decide to strike south next before the Empire can respond. Also for winning this level, we get Blackland Fire Dragon for ourselves, who's honestly a decent monster and an incredibly rare case of a Dragon Monster in Falsebound Kingdom being good in some way, but they're a dragon so we can't use them. And with that, the most stalled out level of Falsebound Kingdom is finally over. Though I don't consider the run as much of a challenge and more so a theme run, that first level turned out to be quite something...
Anyway, next time, we continue the Sword and Sorcery Run by pitting Celtic Guardian and Beaver Warrior in 1 to 9 odds in the next map as they face a crap ton of fights, with perhaps desperately needed new recruits just over the horizon. 2/2

      That will be our role.
Andy is very dumb but that is why we like him.
I'm sure Nell will be fine considering how her sister turned out.
The Santa design was kind of weird in my opinion.
The power score is a bit strange like that.
CO powers are a lot of dumb fun.
I did really like the sprite work on the GBA especially for the battles but this game's style is also very nice and fits the modern day better.
Losing troops is what makes a commander stronger, according to Kingdom which I am currently watching.
      That is very true.
That would have helped my run of AW2 as well. It is good to see this mechanic from Days of Ruin return as well.
Good to hear that you enjoyed Republic Commando despite its genre.
      Joey deserved better.
Making fun of Marthis never gets old.
I guess Yami really wants to get the job done considering regular Yugi doesn't appear again until the credits.
Celtic Guardian sounds like a great monster to help us get started before we get even better monsters near the end.
Beaver Warrior does sound alright despite the lower attack he has compared to Celtic.
Taking out Silver Fang like that seemed like the wise decision considering the lack of healing.
When you think about, mountains are very similar to water considering they are both difficult to traverse. Still doesn't make that much sense.
Those mooks respawning sounded very tedious indeed.
That sounded like an annoying fight but at least is it over and we can maybe look forward to more recruits in the future.
As for me, Engage is going pretty good since my units are holding up pretty well and the maps are going pretty well too.
As for GT3, I beat the Boxer Spirit races with my newly bought Subaru Impreza and it won pretty easily with the upgrades and I won a Subaru Legacy as my reward. Next I did the FF and FR challenges for the Amateur League. These races are a bit more tricky since they are 5 lap races with tyre wear as well which is the first time seeing that. Tyre wear effects your handling and for longer races, pit stops maybe required to change them which does make some future races strategic as well. The main dilemma with tyre wear is whether you go with a softer compound or harder compound of tyre, with the softer compounds warming up faster which means they offer better grip but they last less time and considering how the tyre life went in those two race series, the mediums only barely lasted the 5 laps so harder compounds are more useful here which warm up slower so they offer less grip but they last longer and are able to last the whole 5 laps for these races. The FF challenge was won in my Civic Type R and my prize car was a TRD Celica. The FR challenge was won in my Camaro and I tried the Medium Hard tyres rather than the Medium tyres to see if they last more comfortably which they did so I may try more Medium Hards for the MR and 4WD challenges which are next.
I am also thinking of doing a separate playthrough for Shadow Dragon where I can show off the gaiden maps although unlocking them is kind of a pain so that might be something I start soon before I start the LP. Finally, my Engage video will release today so I wonder what you will think of it.

@@BerserkerRohan True, what makes a lot of the AW characters so charming is the fact they're lovable idiots. That said, you know you're in trouble when you're asking what's a strategy in a strategy game. Xp
Looked it up and didn't realize that she had a sister (or even that sister was Rachel). Well Nell doesn't have as much to worry about in that case then; Just needs to worry about Andy which is still a lot for one's plate. lol
On one hand it's weird probably, but on the other warmonger Santa sounds funny as hell.
Yeah, you'd think it'd be like some "Be sure to kill x amount of enemy soldiers by the map's end," though with how it actually works, it makes the power ranking surprisingly feasible to get if you wait for a good turn to blitz and kill off a lot of foes in one fell swoop.
The powers are quite fun to use.
The sprite work in the original were fantastic as well, but I also love well done 2D animations like this as well. Both are great.
Harsh but true since any military commander will need to be strong to accept and take responsibility that you'll loose soldiers no matter what in most cases.
Being able to replay maps where you're being ranked is quite nice.
It's quite a fun game despite some difficulty and me not being as good with shooters.
      He really did.
      That it will.
Celtic Guardian is just a very solid monster in Falsebound. His issue is less about being bad, but more so Falsebound having TONS of high power monsters to use that eventually gets him removed from the team. Latter bit won't happen as much due to our very limited pool of monsters, but will probably be facing competition for a team slot on Yugi's team near the later parts of the game and get placed on someone else's.
Beaver Warrior's surprisingly good, though suffers the issue CG 10x times more.
It was the boring but practical way to beat them since HP management is critical on the first map of this challenge run.
I guess, but it was still silly.
Normally the respawning is never an issue on the first map since you finish it before they can even respawn, but because we're limited to 2/3rds of a team (unlike how you play normally where the three teams means you can cycle between them for fights if you need one to heal up or do wave assaults on the boss that make the map much easier) and need to heal up more on a map where healing is pitiful, that one enemy team respawning did become a major problem I wasn't expecting.
Yeah, it was certainly an annoying time, but some of that was a little bit expected with the limitations imposed. At the very least, that's probably the worst the run will be and even on the next map alone things get A LOT better.
Nice to hear Engage is doing well.
And great to hear that GT3's been going splendidly. Despite the races becoming tricker, seems like you're holding your own as well as normally expected. Though the races do seem to be becoming more demanding if you're needing to consider which specific type of tire will be best for each one. Though it looks like you're meeting those demands head on without as much issue. Good luck with the MR and 4WD challenges.
Yeah, if you care about showing off as much as you can about SD, you'll probably need to do a separate run for those Gaidens. If you go through with doing that, best of luck, but at least it'll be good practice (well maybe not good given you're killing off 90% of your army, but get you more familiarized with SD and plan ahead for the actual LP).
Congrats with releasing your video on Engage! I'll try to watch it as soon as I can once I get some stuff done.

@@jaredfayette2567 It is what I like about the original cast.
Very true since Rachel can really hold her own.
I am more used to Olaf's western design but the santa design does sound quite funny.
As long as you keep track of how many units they have built total, it is isn't too bad.
I can't wait for AW2 since a lot of the new cast has my favourite CO powers.
I do like both as well.
Of course, AW isn't normally that serious but that moment did remind me of Kingdom which I am enjoying watching.
It really is especially if you unlock things depending on your total ranking.
It has been a while since I played a shooter myself as well.
Sure Celtic does get outclassed but at least he will be useful for a bit, kind of like some early game Pokemon like the generic Normal type. Same goes for Beaver Warrior.
I did assume the respawning was because of the limitations of the run. At least you were able to break through regardless.
At least things will get better next time.
I am thinking about how to tackle the MR challenge, whether that is upgrade the MR2 that I used for the Beginner MR challenge or buying a Lotus which can also compete in some future championship as well.
Any practice is good practice and can help me decide what units I want to use as well.
I will be looking forward to that.

On topic of artillery firing on subs ‘Your opponent will never let you do that’. Yeah about that. Drake let me do that to his subs a lot on the first mission against him.
Now Nell. The only CO in this game with a luck above the usual going up to 20. Her CO Power makes her Luck rocket up to 60 but it’s luck damage. So it is random, like it is possible to roll max or roll zero. Since she has no boons or banes it makes her great if you get lucky. If not like me. Then yeah. I really don’t like Nell as a CO. I think she is over hyped. As a character she is great.
The great bearded one! Olaf, sadly he didn’t bring his chair form the first game but that beard is amazing. Like Nell he has no boons nor banes and sadly. His CO Power isn’t great, Blizzard makes it snow and makes terrain difficult to traverse for anyone not named Olaf but this really rarely does more than annoy Olaf’s opponent. I get that Blizzard is meant to make your opponent barely unable to reach you so you can slam right into them or make a retreat or use it to cut off retreats but most times you won’t ever see Olaf pop it and it doing nothing or him doing what he would normally do o and you being able to easily cripple him back. Thankfully AW 2 gave him the buff that helped. Though I think the names should be swapped. Seriously Blizzard sounds like it would do damage like his SCOP in 2 does.

It can happen. In normal games it's usually not likely though.
I talk about Nell in a couple of maps. She's gone through a lot of swings in evaluation, eventually settling on "Upper Mid Tier". Her Super in AW2 where she can go up to 100% Luck can get really funny with Infantry oneshotting Battle Copters and Neotanks though. At least she's better than the OTHER luck CO.

I know but I honestly think Nell is too hyped up for how luck based she is. Granted if I had to pick her or the other luck based CO I would definitely pick her.

A soldier was scrambling around the base, trying to find his commanding officer. He finally found him in the helicopter hangar, playing cards with two Air Force soldiers.
    “Got any fives?”
Air Force soldier with the higher rank shook her head. “Go fish. By the way, won’t you address your soldier over there?”
“Fine.” At that, he turned to his soldier. “What is it, Jean?”
Soldier, clearly out of breath, answered. “I have... been... looking all... over for you...”
Air Force soldier chimed in. “He has been keeping us company here. With our Pegasus transports offline and scheduled for upgrades, we got nothing else to do but to play cards.”
Commanding officer continued. “Yes. And we don’t have anything else for today scheduled as far as I know.”
Jean, however, disagreed and finally caught his breath. “I am afraid that’s no longer true. Here.” At that, he gave a piece of paper to his CO. As soon as he read the whole thing, his expression turned from bored to serious one. Afterwards he looked at Jean. “Is our motor pool ready?”
“Yes, Sir. Trucks and Dragon Wagons are ready to go.”
“Right, I will be there soon. Dismissed.”
While Jean saluted and left, the Air Force soldier asked: “What happened?”
“Simply put, trouble. An order from the Major. Further 7th Support Battalion’s training is cancelled due to current situation and the unit is effectively brought online. All officers are to assemble for planning meeting as our first order is to link with 5th Mechanized Brigade. Sorry, Captain Erza. Gotta finish this another time.”
    “Go ahead, Lieutenant.”
As the two watched the officer go, Air Force soldier asked: “What now? Shouldn’t we get ready too?”
Captain looked at him with irritated look. “You know full well that Raven Squadron is grounded for maintenance and upgrades. Until that’s done, we aren’t going anywhere.”
“I guess. The enemy did find a good time to strike though.”
“Yeah. More than half of Air Force and Navy is grounded for the same reason.” Captain took a deep sigh. “Finally, the budget for this was made available and, as a result, we have to watch ground forces do the entire work for now.”
“There is only one thing we can do right now.”
“Yeah, let’s start poker round now. Call in others too. We gotta get our minds occupied.”
And, as the base was abuzz with action, the 7th Support Battalion’s training was cut short. Now to see what will happen to them.

I’m kind of surprised that we are 4 missions in and we only just saw Andy now and haven’t played as him, considering that him and his friends tend to be at the forefront of this games advertising and the like.
Also and I don’t know how common this opinion is but I actually find it somewhat refreshing when games like RPGs give you fixed characters and not allow you full control of a team load out like how in this game your CO is mission specific. While it does very much limit you’d options and on occasion can lead to their being obstacles that you have trouble clearing because you cannot change a team load out that’s unfitting for a boss, but it does mean that fights can be properly balanced around you having things, it forces you to use and consider certain characters and hence their not just kept to the wayside all the time….
And thinking about It it’s something I like about Trails from Zero and Cold Steel I and III work most of the time compared to Cold Steel II and IV handle their parties, because both will have cases where certain characters are required but also allows you to choose, making it a weird mix of allowing freedom and trying to have you use certain characters. While the others are a lot more focused on approach with the only choices being whom of who the game gives you access too you use,
Since Nell’s CO Power is based on Luck damage it reminds me of something I would like to see in a game/see more is an ability which makes some of the games more notably Luck based elements which normally have relatively low changes to activate to instead be made so that while they don’t always happen it’s incredibly likely, so something like increasing a 35% chance of an efefct to an 80% chance of effect, it makes a Luck based ability reliable wiyhinout taking away the Luck factor. Albeit depending on the ability and the game this could be hard to balance, tying anything that’s a Luck based chance to survive a lethal blow would be ridiculous.
I could be wrong since I don’t know much about Advance Wars deeper mechs but it does seem like CO’s as a whole efefct battle mainly through unique passives and a super move. Which is nice as it does mean that their actually is deifrfences for playing them despite the games premise and gameplay is inherently based on using generic foot soldiers and vechiles rather than the CO’s themselves.
That kind of game design is not something I tend to experience, I tend to play RPGs which includes turn based ones where althoigh ervyome is tied to the same systems they tend ti have more unique load outs and more unique stats, in Persona 5 Ann and Makoto don’t play the same even if some of their skills are similar.
