What a wonderful machine to make sure we use and waste even MORE plastic!
Like, human wrapping using plastic instead of say rope or a few of those very hard plastic thin strips, that is bad enough, but this machine literally uses 10 times more plastic than needed. The goal is to hold the pallet together against normal maneuvering, not make is resistant to being dropped tens of feet, or to insulate it into the next dimension.

Hi Patrick, Thanks for your comments on the pallet wrapping machine. I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you, the idea of wrapping the pallet is to secure and stabilise for transport by road or rail and prevent the pallet from moving and protecting the items and load. These machines use less film than hand pallet wrap as they stretch the film up to 300 percent and give a perfect wrap so actually use less film and / or plastic. On a side note the plastic is recyclable.

These things are way more efficient than humans. And it needs to be secure to the pallet. I work in a warehouse and have seen loads come in that have fallen off the pallet because they weren’t wrapped properly or tight enough.

The carousel is the only good idea in this, because you still have to get off your forklift to tie the knot in the wrapand set the knot in the load, so in my head the wrapping machine is a huge waste of resources. I mean you're already on the ground by the load, so start the carousel, grab the roll and get wrapping. I can wrap better than any machine.
