1) Make sure to change the batteries while the lens is open 2) Make sure the battery terminals on the camera are clean, wipe them dry with a piece of tissue if they seem a bit wet or moist. After wiping, clean it with a cotton bud or Qtip dipped in a little 70% alchohol then wait of it to dry. 3) Also make sure you don't touch the ends of the batteries while installing them-the natural oil and sweat on our fingers is enough to disrupt the contact and lower the voltage going to the camera. Wipe the battery ends with alchohol too. 4) If your camera has jammed before, try pushing or pressing the camera's film door when shooting the first few photos. Sometimes the first few film pieces need to be pushed further inside the camera, pushing or pressing on the door helps push the film just the right amount.

I put the exact proper battery, my camera is less than a year old, what should I do?
Try cleaning the battery terminals and the ends of the batteries themselves to make sure you get the right voltage. If 2 films are stuck at the same time, you will need to manually remove them. See my other video on the procedure @ th-cam.com/video/eNMnSYp8hJc/w-d-xo.html.
It depends on your country and what Fujifilm's setup is there. Ask the retailer if they accept repair or returns; some would refer you to the local repair service center of Fujifilm or they would send the defective camera to the repair center themselves.
Green and/or purple colored spots or patches on your pictures is a sign that your rollers are dirty. Sometimes it goes away as you take more pictures, the prints clean the rollers. Sometimes they don't go away so you'll have to clean them manually. I do this by CAREFULLY swabbing the rollers with a cotton bud with denatured alchohol-be careful that you wipe away only the dirt and make sure that the cotton does not get stuck in between rollers.. If it does not go away with cleaning, that might mean your rollers or the springs that hold the rollers together are damaged.
Mine has the beginning sheet of the cartridge stuck and all the lights are flashing I’m really not sure what to do, I have changed the batteries and it still isn’t working
My instead mini 9 works normally but the film doesn’t always develop (usually the first one out of the pack works and then the rest just turn out black)
Black film indicates a problem with the lens or shutter of the camera. Your film doesn't get enough light. Could be low on power, a blockage in the lens or your shutter is failing to open. Clean the battery terminals, replace the batteries with new alkalines. If it still persists, have the camera checked.
So I have a mini 9 and whenever I take a picture it shows up completely white. I changed the settings but it didn’t help. I’ve had it for about a year and this has never happened, I also changed the battery’s but that didn’t help either
how do you change the settings for the picture? no matter what i do, it always stays on the one with the house, which has a flash I don't want :/ how do i change it so i can take pictures outside? i already changed the batteries and have an event on saturday i want to take pictures at. thanks!!
For the Mini 9, the light only serves as an indicator of the recommended setting, you still have to turn the camera lens to whichever setting you want to use. The small recessed dot on the lens tells you which setting the camera is on. The orange light moves depending on how bright the light in front of the camera is.
Can you help me? Is this just battery's problem since only brightness adjustment area that keep blinking? 3 of 4 blinked. also can you recommend which batteries that suitable to use?

hi, so a film (specifically the cover of the films) got stucked on my instax mini 9 after I pressed the shutter button after I just finished reloading the camera. However, I am not able to immediately replace battery as of the moment because it happened super late at night and no alkaline batteries available nearby. U think my films are still saveable? what should i do? thank youuu
Usually it's really the batteries. If you can't buy in the meantime, try cleaning the springs/battery contacts of the camera and clean the tips of the old batteries too. Reinsert them again and see that would clear the jam. Otherwise, you'll need to get new batteries.
Hi actually my camera lens not blocked but my pictures are dark i don’t know i think i didn’t turn on lights and i don’t know how to do it 💛please help me 😢
For the Mini 8 and 9, sometimes the shutter just fails and makes dark photos. Replace the battery with new alkalines and clean the battery contacts. If still the same result, have the camera checked by a technician.
Hello, what do i do if my flash charging lamp stays red even after i change the battery? Also will my instax be damaged if my battery had not been removed after a long time?
Replace with new alkaline batteries and check the battery contacts if dirty or corroded. Old batteries can leak chemicals into the terminals and can damage the camera.
@@suha9829 Clean the corrosion with vinegar and brush, then wipe dry; once dry wipe again with alchohol. If the contacts are broken, they will need to be replaced with new contacts.
hi there:) i was taking a picture with my mini 9 and as the photo was developing i closed the lens by mistake and the film got jammed… i was able to take it out but i’m not sure if i was too aggressive taking it out, i put new film turned it back on and the black protector started to come out but then stopped, and the lights started to blink again, i’m hoping i didnt break it because i just recently started to use it :/ hope you could help !
I'll look for one, it's discontinued but sometimes available for sale here. It does have a lot in common with the mini8 and 9- the the main change is the 8 and 9 use 2AA batts instead of 4 and the settings control is on the lens, not on top.

Check first if the battery contacts are clean, wipe with a clean rag or tissue and some alchohol. If there's battery residue/chemical smell, clean with a cotton bud dipped in a little vinegar. Make sure batteries are alkaline and remember to replace the batteries with the lens open.
Any major brand as long as it's an alkaline AA battery and not "heavy duty". Fujitsu, Energizer, Duracell and even the cheap Pairdeer brands have worked for me.
What's the problem if I insert a new film but when I start clicking the shot button, It will start blinking lights and the black one I don't know what we call these thing will not release. And also I use ever ready extra heavy duty batter the orange one.
I'm missing battery cover for mini 11, do you know if battery cover for mini 11 is the same for 8/9? I'm just wondering if I can use the one from old mini 9. Since that one just completely stopped working (which seems to be pretty common for 8/9) I call it red light of death 😂😂😂 thanks so much for your videos
I haven't had one repaired by others since I work on my cameras myself-I have limited experience in repairing film cameras since I collect them too. However, my friend went to the local Fujifilm service center for a Mini 9 with a problem with the circuit board and she was advised that repair would cost almost the same as a new mini 9 so she ended up buying a new camera instead.
If no lights turn on, check the batteries and battery terminals first. Check battery polarity, and if in good condition. Use good quality alkalines and make sure to replace the batteries with the camera turned on. If battery terminals are dirty, clean them with a q-tip or cotton bud dipped in a little vinegar-swab the terminals then wipe dry.
Okay so i recently had dropped my instax mini 9 but it wasnt a harsh drop. It started to blink orange lights and i thought it would have been the batteries so i changed them to alkaline and it still began to blink. How do i fix this? Is this due to film being stuck?
Try replacing the batteries with new ones first and make sure to change them while the lens is pulled out. Blinking lights indicate a general system error-could range from being low on power to having total failure of your camera's circuit board. The Mini cameras generally don't hold up well to drops and impact damage-there's a lot of small gears and plastic clips inside that will break if dropped.
In my experience, any brand of alkaline batteries work as long as they're new and in good condition. I've used Energizer, Panasonic, Fujitsu, even the cheap Pairdeer and Mitsushi brands work ok. Just make sure the word "Alkaline" is printed on the batteries themselves. Do not use "heavy duty" batteries.
My camera is on the home setting and flashes 3 lights only. The film is stuck won’t come out. I bought NEW alkaline batteries and inserted them with the lens open. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and it’s still broken
Sometimes my Instax mini 9 flash is not flashing when I took a photo and the films are blank (black) & sometimes it's flashing and can take a photo. How can I solve this?
"Ultra Digital" is just a marketing or branding term used by some manufacturers. Make sure the words "alkaline" are on the battery label. Most "ultra digital" batteries are alkaline but you can't always be sure because there's so many brands on the market. Alkaline refers to the type of chemical or metals inside the battery.
so it just happens to me this day where i put new batteries but it wont budge at all , so i decided to open the back and get the catridge out , its kinda hard but you can get them out eventually. So , when i get it out the black piece still stuck to the camera , n the catridge still has the film in it , so get the black piece out asap and put in the catridge back n put fresh batteries , n then u will be okay . The first shot is overexposed but the rest of them gonna be okay
@@sherribaisley9956 yeah you kinda need to be hard with it but i dont recommend it. Try putting in fresh high quality battery first, only after that u try to do this. Eventually,my camera broke down after long time but luckily i have the warranty
Is it sticking out of the ejection port? If it's already out, try pulling it just a little to help the motor eject it. If not and the sheet is still inside the camera, open it inside a film changing bag, re-seat the film pack inside camera and try shooting again.
My Polaroid 9 is flashing dark I know it’s not the batteries but it might be my experience film I already bought a lot of it but it’s exspensive can u tell me what’s wrong
@@noodles4206 That one normally blinks in between shots- blinking red light indicates the flash is charging so you can't press the shutter button until the flash capacitor is fully charged for each shot. Once it stops blinking, you should be able to take a picture. If it's solid red, that's the indicator that the batteries are low in power.
I don't have experience with the Mini 11 since they're pretty new. The 11 works differently from the mini 9 because it's automatic. Try changing the batteries first to rule out low power, since the shutter may not be working correctly if it's low on power. Black photos usually indicate a problem with the shutter or lens not opening, so no light goes to the film. In rare cases, if the film you used is very expired or has been exposed to extreme heat or radiation, the photos can turn black as well.
please help i have a instax mini 9 and once my batteries ran out and the film got stuck mid way while i was taking a photo in bright light in the sun and the settings were like how the camera said so i pulled it out then when i replaced the batteries ever since that the film had been coming out black on the top and the rest of the film is really dark and full but you can still see the picture but it’s very dark and i switched the film packets a few times they’re not expired yet so what’s wrong :(((
@@GoneWithFilm how do i check for that? when i look at the camera lens it looks perfectly normal and doesn’t show any signs of coverage. how do i check for the aperture holes? do i take this to the mechanic?
@@laiba9925 See the video @ 2:07-2:16, the holes that change are the aperture, sometimes it gets stuck in between 2 holes blocking the frame. Sometimes they can be changes just by clicking the settings wheel again, but in some cases, the lens and aperture assembly has to be fixed by a repairman/mechanic.
The counter mechanism sometimes gets broken-the camera will still take pictures but you won't be able to see exactly how many films are remaining. It's fixable but usually you have to disassemble the camera to repair the film counter.

The viewfinder has small mirrors and prisms inside. A small shock or bump can misalign one of those mirrors, making it so that the image won't reach the eye. This can only be fixed by repairing the camera. This is done by either opening the viewfinder assembly and re-aligning the mirrors OR by completely replacing the viewfinder assembly. If you can't find somebody to repair the camera or just don't want your camera to be repaired there are a few simple tricks to be able to still get a preview of what you are taking a picture of. You can get a used 35mm disposable camera and scavenge the viewfinder from that. If you're good at arts and crafts, you can also make a DIY wire viewfinder.
Check the battery contacts first and clean them. Wipe with a rag or cloth to remove residue. If there are signs of corrosion, brush with an old toothbrush to remove corrosion then wipe the terminals with a cotton bud or Qtip dipped in a little white vinegar. Wipe with a cloth again to dry and try replacing batteries afterwards.
You mean the film counter? It resets every time the back is opened, so if you opened the back after loading, it will reset to "S". It works by using gears coupled to the ejection mechanism. There are cases that it gets stuck. It won't affect you photos but the count will be wrong.
The red light at the back flashes as a sign that the flash is charging. It should fire once the flash is charged after power on. If the flash doesn't charge there's an electrical problem with the camera or maybe the battery terminals are dirty.

pls help. my cameras batteries are working. the red light near viewfinder is working. not blinking . but the lights on the brightness adjustment dial is not turning on. what to do???
Probably still low on battery power/low voltage. If the red viewfinder light is solid and not blinking, it's an indication of low battery power. The mini 8 and 9 charge the flash first before being able to shoot. When the red light is blinking, it means it's still charging the flash capacitor. Once charged and ready to shoot, the red light SHOULD BE OFF and one of the orange lights will turn on.
Hi i just bought instax mini 9 and i have a problem with light meter (i Don’t how to name it), it just Don’t change with the light around, it still light on house setting, even in the night. How can i make it please?
The orange light shows the "recommended" setting, it will only change or move if there's really bright light or sunlight. You have to turn the lens ring to match the light. The dot or indentation on the lens is the indicator of the actual setting that the camera is using.
@@GoneWithFilm sorry i wasnt correct. Im talking about that "recommended" setting. it still shows "house" setting (orange light) in every light. it dont change even in really bright light and i know it should change to "sun" setting

I tried to replace my film and when I took a picture to get the protective film out, it got stuck and the lights started flashing. I replaced the batteries and it still didn't pop out and the lights are flashing. What do I do?
Keep the film in total darkness to make sure it won't get ruined. Try to cycle/shoot the camera first without film. Make sure to replace the batteries while the lens is out/camera on. You can return the film pack inside (again in the dark) once the camera is cycling normally.
@@GoneWithFilm Thank you so much! I was able to get the film out, and I put some new film in. However, it still isn't working and the protective sheet is not coming out. It is not jammed because I was able to take the film out again, but it is just not working.
For mini 8 and 9 cameras, the brightness is controlled by turning the settings wheel. Sometimes the aperture discs that control the brightness get stuck halfway. Try turning the settings wheel again to "unstuck" the disc.
Yes the camera would be fine but the loaded film pack is probably exposed and will show all white or washed out pictures. It'll be ok on subsequent film packs.

edit- I did take it out somehow and put new batteries, but regardless of a film in or not all the lights are still blinking.
What do you mean by service center like at the local Walmart where I bought mine or?
It depends on your country and what Fujifilm's setup is there. Ask the retailer if they accept repair or returns; some would refer you to the local repair service center of Fujifilm or they would send the defective camera to the repair center themselves.
My pictures have some green patches on them what should I do now please answer!
Same happened to me and I already wasted a pack :(
Black film indicates a problem with the lens or shutter of the camera. Your film doesn't get enough light. Could be low on power, a blockage in the lens or your shutter is failing to open. Clean the battery terminals, replace the batteries with new alkalines. If it still persists, have the camera checked.
GoneWithFilm thanks!
wendy sierra Girl I wasted like 9 packs 😭
Could you give me a name for a service center? Is there a specific service center for these cameras?
Depends on which country. There's usually a list in the manual that comes with the camera.
@@GoneWithFilm ohhhh thanks :)
I took my first 10 photos they came out perfect but I put in a new cottage and it’s filling out black haven’t drop it or nothing
R we supposed to use alkaline batteries only
Can you help me? Is this just battery's problem since only brightness adjustment area that keep blinking? 3 of 4 blinked. also can you recommend which batteries that suitable to use?
Usually it's just the battery. Any alkaline from the major manufacturers like Eveready and Energizer would do.
Can you help me I have instax 9mini and the indoor bottom is light as usual but the other is give me orange light blanking and I change the battery and it doesn’t work even if it’s close the camera still the light open 😭😭😭😩😩😩 help me pleaseeee
hi, so a film (specifically the cover of the films) got stucked on my instax mini 9 after I pressed the shutter button after I just finished reloading the camera.
@@GoneWithFilm thank you so much for responding. I appreciate it a lot
@@GoneWithFilm what do i do if the battery contacts are affected?
Try replacing the batteries while the lens is on, it's Fujifilm's way of "resetting" your camera.
Omg you fixed my camera I love you thank you sooooooo much
Could you please do the mini7+ if you have it?
I'll look for one, it's discontinued but sometimes available for sale here. It does have a lot in common with the mini8 and 9- the the main change is the 8 and 9 use 2AA batts instead of 4 and the settings control is on the lens, not on top.
@@GoneWithFilm ok thank you for telling me.

Hi there I need help with my instax mini 9 , I was taking pictures until my film ran out then I replaced it with new film immediately, as I was pressing the button to get the black film peace it got stuck in the camera ...and the lights was going on , one light still and the rest of the lights flashing , I then opened the back side and pulled the film out , but now the lights are even going off when the camera is off...I did Put new batteries in 😢please help
Check first if the battery contacts are clean, wipe with a clean rag or tissue and some alchohol. If there's battery residue/chemical smell, clean with a cotton bud dipped in a little vinegar. Make sure batteries are alkaline and remember to replace the batteries with the lens open.
thank you so much !! this really helped !!
battery recommendations?
Any major brand as long as it's an alkaline AA battery and not "heavy duty". Fujitsu, Energizer, Duracell and even the cheap Pairdeer brands have worked for me.
Thank you I fixed the camera But if I already have a dark photo and I really like it, is there any way I can brighten it?
Film photos, once taken cannot be edited- you'll have to digitize them and edit them using an editing app.
@@GoneWithFilm Thank u so much
What's the problem if I insert a new film but when I start clicking the shot button, It will start blinking lights and the black one I don't know what we call these thing will not release. And also I use ever ready extra heavy duty batter the orange one.
Use alkaline, not heavy duty batteries. They provide a more constant voltage that's needed by the camera.
I'm not sure if it would fit since they have different body casings.
So now it's 2k24 can I use 2020-12 ones
Hello where is the service centre of this?
Depends on the country
Thanks alot. This was very helpful.
Thank you so so much 🥺!
how much does would a repair cause?
I haven't had one repaired by others since I work on my cameras myself-I have limited experience in repairing film cameras since I collect them too. However, my friend went to the local Fujifilm service center for a Mini 9 with a problem with the circuit board and she was advised that repair would cost almost the same as a new mini 9 so she ended up buying a new camera instead.
how to fix instax if the right side of the light not stop to blink sa red light of right side of the light?
Red light on the back is the indicator for flash charging. Flash won't charge if battery is low, try changing the batteries.
the settings by the lens dont light up? can you help
Only 3 out of 4 lights are blinking for my camera and it wont wanna turn on im not so sure if it just may be the batteries or not
Try replacing the batteries with new ones first and make sure to change them while the lens is pulled out. Blinking lights indicate a general system error-could range from being low on power to having total failure of your camera's circuit board. The Mini cameras generally don't hold up well to drops and impact damage-there's a lot of small gears and plastic clips inside that will break if dropped.
Only useful video! VERY helpful
What brand of battery I should buy
In my experience, any brand of alkaline batteries work as long as they're new and in good condition. I've used Energizer, Panasonic, Fujitsu, even the cheap Pairdeer and Mitsushi brands work ok. Just make sure the word "Alkaline" is printed on the batteries themselves. Do not use "heavy duty" batteries.
My camera is on the home setting and flashes 3 lights only. The film is stuck won’t come out. I bought NEW alkaline batteries and inserted them with the lens open. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and it’s still broken
The black film came out and it still says ‘s’ instead of 10
Sometimes my Instax mini 9 flash is not flashing when I took a photo and the films are blank (black) & sometimes it's flashing and can take a photo. How can I solve this?
Do ultra digital batteries work?
The first shot is overexposed but the rest of them gonna be okay
do you get the film out as well?
How did you get the cartridge out? I am struggling to get it out. Don't want to pull to hard and damage my camera.

how do you fix when the protective layer of the film is stuck? and it won't come out even if i change the batteries
Is it sticking out of the ejection port? If it's already out, try pulling it just a little to help the motor eject it. If not and the sheet is still inside the camera, open it inside a film changing bag, re-seat the film pack inside camera and try shooting again.
I’m using Instax Mini 7+ and my film are all white blank. Any idea why this happen?
My Polaroid 9 is flashing dark I know it’s not the batteries but it might be my experience film I already bought a lot of it but it’s exspensive can u tell me what’s wrong
Which light is flashing? the orange lights on the front, or the red light near the viewfinder?
@@GoneWithFilm the one near the box viewfinder
@@noodles4206 That one normally blinks in between shots- blinking red light indicates the flash is charging so you can't press the shutter button until the flash capacitor is fully charged for each shot. Once it stops blinking, you should be able to take a picture. If it's solid red, that's the indicator that the batteries are low in power.
Mine only 2 lights blinking and the first light is still what should I do
Thank you for this video. It solved my problem
I have the camera mini 11 and everytime i take a photo then they turn white but then after a little there completely black! Do u know how to fix that?
I don't have experience with the Mini 11 since they're pretty new. The 11 works differently from the mini 9 because it's automatic. Try changing the batteries first to rule out low power, since the shutter may not be working correctly if it's low on power. Black photos usually indicate a problem with the shutter or lens not opening, so no light goes to the film. In rare cases, if the film you used is very expired or has been exposed to extreme heat or radiation, the photos can turn black as well.
Thank you so much, this helped a lot. 🥳
please help i have a instax mini 9 and once my batteries ran out and the film got stuck mid way while i was taking a photo in bright light in the sun and the settings were like how the camera said so i pulled it out then when i replaced the batteries ever since that the film had been coming out black on the top and the rest of the film is really dark and full but you can still see the picture but it’s very dark and i switched the film packets a few times they’re not expired yet so what’s wrong :(((
check your lens if something is blocking it, there might be an issue with the lens cover or the lens aperture holes.
Hi! My instax mini 8's film counter move downwards and i cant see how many films are still left. Please help.
I think its stuck
The counter mechanism sometimes gets broken-the camera will still take pictures but you won't be able to see exactly how many films are remaining. It's fixable but usually you have to disassemble the camera to repair the film counter.

What should i do if im looking into the camera and i cant see anything? Its black but its still making pics's but i cant see what im shooting
Changed the batteries, and now 4 out of 5 lights are blinking, the other one (the first one) stays on and red. should i take it for a service??
Check the battery contacts first and clean them. Wipe with a rag or cloth to remove residue. If there are signs of corrosion, brush with an old toothbrush to remove corrosion then wipe the terminals with a cotton bud or Qtip dipped in a little white vinegar. Wipe with a cloth again to dry and try replacing batteries afterwards.
PLS REPLY SO MY CAMERA THE THING TURN TO 10 NOT S SO DO I NEED TO CHANGE IT
You mean the film counter? It resets every time the back is opened, so if you opened the back after loading, it will reset to "S". It works by using gears coupled to the ejection mechanism. There are cases that it gets stuck. It won't affect you photos but the count will be wrong.
This video Literally saved my life thanks a lot
instead of lights flashing, the lights dont turn on when i open the lens. please help 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I replaced the batteries but the red light at the back is still on idk how to fix it
The red light at the back flashes as a sign that the flash is charging. It should fire once the flash is charged after power on. If the flash doesn't charge there's an electrical problem with the camera or maybe the battery terminals are dirty.
My film got stuck because the battery power was low….i replaced the new batteries after TURNING OFF the camera instead of replacing it while its still turned on…how do i fix it without taking it to the service centre
my its not blinking, just the light in the back is, I already changed de batteries but it didn't work..I changed de film pack too, can someone help me?
So when I take photos half of it turns black and the other is white, what does this mean?
is it normal for the setting lights to flash red? Because when I first bought mine it doesn't do that then suddenly it did.
The setting lights in front blink orange both when working well and if there's an error. It's the flash indicator light near the viewfinder that blinks red.

Hi, have you able to solve? I have the same issue.. Thanks
pls help. my cameras batteries are working. the red light near viewfinder is working. not blinking . but the lights on the brightness adjustment dial is not turning on. what to do???

Keep the film in total darkness to make sure it won't get ruined. Try to cycle/shoot the camera first without film. Make sure to replace the batteries while the lens is out/camera on. You can return the film pack inside (again in the dark) once the camera is cycling normally.

What do you mean by going to settings
For mini 8 and 9 cameras, the brightness is controlled by turning the settings wheel. Sometimes the aperture discs that control the brightness get stuck halfway. Try turning the settings wheel again to "unstuck" the disc.
Hi i opened the camera while it was loaded will it ever work again?
Yes the camera would be fine but the loaded film pack is probably exposed and will show all white or washed out pictures. It'll be ok on subsequent film packs.
