I grew up in the 80s hearing them via my mother, they are still to this day the only band I can honestly say that I can listen to a whole album and not skip a track. This was the first track when I realised, "this is actually quite good", next thing you know I've bought all their albums.
You guys put a huge smile on my face. Great video. I love Steely Dan too. I'm heading in to the weekend with your video playing in my head !!!Thank you !!!!
The reason George carlin did not like steely Dan is because he did not consider them a real jazz group he is correct in that steely Dan plays all genres In their music A lot of jazz inspired Donald Donald fagen of steely Dan In an interview that he considered Fake jazz George carlin was a starch jazz Aficionado But I love steely Dan everything about them
You can almost "grab bag" Steely Dan and be happy. I mean reach blind into a stack of their albums, point at the song list with your eyes closed, and you'll most likely be hearing something you like. Edit: let me qualify that. Any album up to, and including "gaucho". I never listened to the later two enough to say that.
They have about 30 or 40 songs just as good as this. I envy the fact you get to hear them all for the first time still.
90 songs! They don’t miss!
It's so upbeat, I've always loved this one, not to mention that bass guitar just cooking away.

It's like pop music built out of jazz parts.
A fabulous band from the seventies! Love it!👍👍🤟🤟❤
Seventies, 1980, solo projects throughout the 90s, then they got back together in the 2000s. Then more solo projects. Not a single bad song
Micheal McDonald from the doobie brothers hitting them background vocals
When "AJA" came out, we were all blown away. Wonderful album.
This is what happens when you put two musical geniuses together. Their names are Walter Becker and Donald Fagan.
You need to listen to Steely Dan with earphones. This is the tip of tip of the iceberg.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Steely Dan was my first live concert as a kid and it ruined me to other bands forever
Probably my favorite bass line of all time
Minds officially blown! 😊😊
Happy berfday my dude. Steely Dan nothing but chill
Aja!! The song and album.
Happy late Birthday man! Thanks for the Dan listen. Cheers!
"Black Cow" by Steely Dan next please.

That is Michael Macdonald in the background. He was part of Steely Dan before he joined The Doobie Brothers in 1975.
He was still apart of Steely until 1980.
His last recording with them was on Gaucho, 1980. 😉
LOVE your reaction! You've entered the Steely Dan wormhole ... and there's no way out. Have a listen to Black Cow? /M.
Michael McDonald formerly of the Doobie Brothers did the most prominent backgroung vocals.
Do Haitian Divorce from Steely Dan.

I have a photo of Carlin with his Mother wearing a Pretzel Logic SD t shirt.
@@SkeevyBrother she probably did that to piss him off
@@jonathanduran1773 He was wearing the shirt, go figure.
@@SkeevyBrother that's awesome I'd love to see that

You should at least give them a try
They didn't miss a lick in their last two, 21st Century LPs.
every single song on AJA"
do Royal Scam Album
I love this, everyone recommending a song, you want a whole album. Classic
If only you guys would let the song play and save comments until after the song instead of stopping and pausing the music.
Your audio is poor. Fix that.
Yeah, energetic and fun reaction but the sound was tough to listen to.
