9:18 Yeah because let's be honest, in Alpha 3 they said "So this will be a field test to see how the AI will navigate a house of this size" and that house barely had 3 floors, and even in the earlier builds of alpha 1 & 2, being upstairs was rare, and impossible in pre-alpha. All in all it seems like he was never able to get up more than 3 floors, maybe up that stairwell if he followed you, or the ladder and track rarely, but he mostly stuck to the first floor just kicking shit around. So much for their advanced AI 11:28 And yeah, there's Matpat's answer. Not the devil, and it is the Player's shadow, because he's closer to the TV his shadow cast would be much larger than he actually is. I knew it way back when I first saw it because I saw the shadow in the announcement Trailer and by the furnace in Pre Alpha 15:16 That definitely changed too. They saw an audience of people like FGTeeV and decided to make it advertisable and palatable to kids, and now the full game doesn't even feel like a horror game to me.
In Alpha 1, pressing M will activate the menu with all the options. This reappears in Alpha 2, but from what I can tell, it's just the Alpha 1 menu in Russian. In Alpha 3, it sorta reappears but now it's just a bunch of strange numbers. (For those wondering, pressing M in Pre-Alpha and Alpha 4 does nothing.)
Its genuinely disappointing how much of the marketing consisted of lies with Hello Neighbor. If you really look into it its actually scary. False promises, "unedited" videos (they were edited), filler screenshots, all the sorts. Its really saddening and honestly, with hindsight, its really obvious that this would happen again with Hello Neighbor 2. Lying and scamming runs in the blood of this series.
I just noticed there was another unsued level called "Fear_Gym" it was brought up by the developers once, they said they scrapped it as it had nothing to do with the story of the game. You can still load it up using cheats.
Trailer_1 in a nutshell: Someone aggressively knocks on your door, you don’t know who it is but you put down a closed bear trap and attempt to commit die but a person that is as fast as Usain bolt and has the reflexes to catch you as your falling.
10:39 Maybe the neighbour originally was supposed to be watching TV instead of boarding the door, as he probably originally was planned to have finished boarding the door by then, or he would be locking the door instead of the normal where he puts a board and a keycard lock on the door.
7:57 is the animation used for the neighbor throwing down the coffin lid on you in the alpha 1 ending. 8:00 is the animation used for the neighbor slipping on a banana peel in alpha 1. I found out about it when I was making one of the TAS videos for alpha 1. 9:14 I think is used for the neighbor cleaning the walls with a broom. I don't remember if I saw it in alpha 1 or not.
@@drsnakhenry653 ok so yeah the bananas are a little broke but that's fine. when you click the banana on the neighbor it freezes him right? and if you push shift, both you and the neighbor slip on the same banana, when that happens and if you're fast enough to look at the neighbor, you can see that he slips. keep trying.
In excerpt 8:18, the animation is what the neighbor does at the opening of the trailer for the prototype version and he kind of throws or drops the key on the table
I think that the neighbor was originally going to kill you with a hatchet/axe because he holds one every time his shadow is seen (Without him actually there)

sorry I'm so late but while I was exploring the Alpha 2 build in ghost mode, I found a shed on what seems to be on an island on top of a body of water? I know this little landmark is probably well known but I just wanted to ask if we know what this is supposed to be? Like does this have any significance at all? Or is it just some random little detail. Because it seems like to me it's like unknown why it's there.
I'm honestly not entirely sure, but I think I know what most of the unused animations were used or going to be used for: 7:57 : the animation used at the end of alpha 1, where the neighbor slams the coffin lid on you 8:00 : possibly an early version of him getting stunned by the unused fireworks, you using the fear school ability, or once used/planned for an unused mechanic where you would throw a large object (like a chair or TV), and it would knock him over. I also have a threoy that maybe this would have been used when the neighbor slipped on the unused banana item and mechanic, where you could eat a banana and leave the peel on the floor, where either you or the neighbor could slip on it. 8:05 : he was supposed to drive the train in the full-house version of alpha 1, these animations are the only remnant of that. The first animation was most likely him using the train in idle mode, and the second animation was most likely when he was either chasing you or suspicious 8:12 : it's still completely unknown what exactly this would have been used for but my best guess is if you caught him off guard while he was still in idle mode and stunned him with something, he wouldn't move 8:15 : this is used in alpha 2 and alpha 1.5 in the intro where he grabs the player on the couch. 8:17 : from the prototype/announcement trailer where he places the basement key on the dinner table 8:18 : again, unknown where this would have been used for, but my best guess is that like seen in the announcement trailer, him jumping out of a broken has a different animation, so maybe this would have been an alternate faster version of that, but I really don't know 8:20 : again, nobody noes for sure what this is or where it was going to be used, but to me it looks like he's washing dishes while dancing. Either that or it is just him dancing while still holding onto the stero 8:26 : most likely a look around animation for when he finds a distraction in idle mode, or like in the pre alpha, where he can hear sounds and objects being thrown. Either that or its an animation for when he sees that something is in the wrong place, missing, or broken since that seemed to be a mechanic in early builds of the game like the ai rundown build. 8:28 : this one's pretty self explanatory, used in the prototype/announcement trailer, maybe used in pre alpha and alpha 1 but I'm not too sure about that 8:35 : most likely an unused idle task, most likely went unused since its so... random 8:40 : this one is interesting since it is parcaly used in alpha 2. When you get caught in alpha 2, you get thrown out by the neighbor and a door slamming sound plays. Orianly there was supposed animations of him slamming the front door, but for some reason it went unused, there are even still animations of the double doors slamming shut and doors are still under the alpha 2 house in the build 8:42 : I've never seen this one before honestly, but I do think it is an early version of the car crash dream from alpha 1, that or maybe there were plans for more dreams/nightmares to be a thing where each one would have the neighbor go into the basement or around his house to do something strange 8:46 : these are pretty evident to what they would have been used for, honestly I think these are more refiend versions of the used alpha 2 animations and were most likely going to be used in later builds if the sleeping pills and milk weren't randomly cut 8:59 : I think this would have been used for when you successfully hid away from the neighbor and he didn't find you, making him belive that you were no longer in his house and he goes back into idle mode, that or this would have been used for when you stunned him and ran away or hid somewhere without him seeing or hearing you 9:00 pretty obvious to what these would have been used for, just odd to me that all of them weren't used for some strange unknown reason 9:15 I have no idea if this was used at any point, but these are the animations of the neighbor cleaning/mopping the walls or ceiling. no idea why they went unused 9:18 : again, pretty evident to what this would have been used for, unknown why it went unused since even in the final game you can break windows on the upper floors and he will investigate them if he can get up there 9:22 : all of these animations are used in the game, but for some reason these are better versions of them. the only two that earn't ovously early or unused variations of other animations are the "threatens" animation which was most likely supposed to be used for when you crossed the street and he couldn't get you, and the "holding the player" animation is basically used in the act 3 basement when you need to use the fear school power, although it does look pretty different so its possible its just an unused version of when he's trying to catch you while you have the fear school power. | | 'bonus thing I guess' | | 14:10 : one last thing I want to add is that this pre alpha press kit gif is very interesting in that the player uses a baretrap to trap the neighbor like how you can in alpha 1 and beyond, but unlike in alpha 1 its not bugged and he does get locked in place. Also another thing is that in the pre alpha, the neighbor can't break open chair-locked doors like he can in alpha 1, but there is an image of them breaking through the bathroom door. Yet in this gif, he doesn't seem to break through the door.
13:44 ok that’s just unfair, if this version of the pre alpha was released and someone worked so hard to complete it but then the neighbor jumps out of the Basement and catches you.
yeah you get the power ability after beating fear_factory but its so broken the white circle around your screen doesnt appear so you dont know if its activated or not so you have to wait so much like in full game and when you throw the item it gets bugged if its not a big item it will just go inside the walls i tried after beating the level in beta 1 i picked up the valve after pouring the water out and finished the level then went outside held the valve for a few secs then threw it to a random wall on neighbor house and it went inside the wall but didnt dissappear so its pretty unfinished and the invisible wall you mentioned doesnt make impossible to beat the level the top of that wall is open you have to throw the ball to the top and make it go outside the wall so you can go to the exit door
The Video is pretty old but, who cares. 8:52 this Was used in the alpha 2, when neighbor goes sleeping on the armchair 9:01 This Was used in alpha 1 or pre alpha when neighbor is wandering around 9:12 And also this when Neighbor haved a broom in his hand or he haved a box in the hand. 7:58 And This Was used for the Alpha 1 Ending, where the Neighbor shuts the coffin. 8:05 This Was Probably meant to be used if the elevator was stuck or wasn't working right in alpha 1
actually '9:01 This Was used in alpha 1 or pre alpha when neighbor is wandering around' in the alpha 1 and pre alpha he has different walking animation so it cant be the alpha 1 or pre alpha neighbor's walking animation
8:21 This animation can also be found in the modkit’s files, and no, its not an unused animation for the stereo, it was possibly an animation for the neighbor cooking on his stove, due to it being called neighbor_cooking or something, also his height doesn’t match the stereo’s height so its not a stereo animation. Also in 9:16 those could be animations for the neighbor handling the toy rifle that went unused
9:16 I think that this animation implies either 1 of 2 things. 1. The neighbor may have been able to elbow the player and knock them down or 2. This is an unused door busting animation
8:18 (and a little bit more after) these are the animations for the prototype, did you find those in the pre-alpha files? (8:18 was the neighbor dropping the key on the dinner table) 12:18 i think this was used to signify that you would sink into the road (i know alpha 2 has this and this is true)
You CAN pick up the ley and remote. just go inside of them and go to the spot where the dot/curser becomes bigger and more whiter. then hold E to pick them up
@@mrtreadmill355 I don't remember him placing the hammer back down in the early teaser but he did in the announcement trailer, but it was a different animation.
I thought it was called Fear Factory what it’s really called the secret gym factory in these animations they’re making one of them is posing as putting their heads one of them is just standing there on Sunday or even pulling something what they’re trying to get out of the room and the deathly growl I don’t even know what it is but the screen just has some deleted stuff that’s weird
8:17 the “???” Unused animation is like mr peterson aka the neighbor is just putting the key in the table which this animation leads to the prototype from the announcement trailer
7:57 Hello neighbor alpha 1 ending animation, the neighbor throwing down the coffin lid. 8:41 Hello neighbor alpha 2 animation, plays after you get caught by the neighbor.
i really doubt it, but to be honest, the updated neighbor_3 (at 12:34) looks like it maaaaybe was a test map for Secret Neighbor? I mean, there's the big rooms, big stairs, 2 doors on the wall on the second floor, etc. again i doubt it, but it's possible i guess
Well different devs made secret neighbor and I'm pretty sure it was just a remake of one of there previous games. Just with a hello neighbor look. So I'm pretty sure that this was just a test level.

14:10 : one last thing I want to add is that this pre alpha press kit gif is very interesting in that the player uses a baretrap to trap the neighbor like how you can in alpha 1 and beyond, but unlike in alpha 1 its not bugged and he does get locked in place. Also another thing is that in the pre alpha, the neighbor can't break open chair-locked doors like he can in alpha 1, but there is an image of them breaking through the bathroom door. Yet in this gif, he doesn't seem to break through the door.
and the 'unused' microwave waiting animation at 8:30 isn't unused,it is in pre alpha.
13:44 ok that’s just unfair, if this version of the pre alpha was released and someone worked so hard to complete it but then the neighbor jumps out of the Basement and catches you.
the same thing basically happens at the end of alpha 1
@@Anteater92006 where did you even get the image?
The Presskit, if i remember right
10:43 You actually can pick those up, but the camera must be inside them for whatever reason, possibly due to clipping through the mesh of the house.
Thanks i didn't know that
7:58 when he buries you in Alpha 1
9:16 I think that was supposed to be cleaning window animation.
yeah you get the power ability after beating fear_factory but its so broken the white circle around your screen doesnt appear so you dont know if its activated or not so you have to wait so much like in full game and when you throw the item it gets bugged if its not a big item it will just go inside the walls i tried after beating the level in beta 1 i picked up the valve after pouring the water out and finished the level then went outside held the valve for a few secs then threw it to a random wall on neighbor house and it went inside the wall but didnt dissappear so its pretty unfinished and the invisible wall you mentioned doesnt make impossible to beat the level the top of that wall is open you have to throw the ball to the top and make it go outside the wall so you can go to the exit door
3:42 that would be sooo cool if that was really used in the actual game
@@bloodbonnieking Which beta?
We were the Shadow Monster in Pre-Alpha & Alpha 1, Thats why the Neighbor tried to get rid us
Excuse me?
@@Anteater92006 ?
You edited it. Smooth move lol
@@Anteater92006 Ok
That wasn't intended to sound rude by the way. I just found it funny lol
The Video is pretty old but, who cares. 8:52 this Was used in the alpha 2, when neighbor goes sleeping on the armchair
9:01 This Was used in alpha 1 or pre alpha when neighbor is wandering around
9:12 And also this when Neighbor haved a broom in his hand or he haved a box in the hand.
7:58
And This Was used for the Alpha 1 Ending, where the Neighbor shuts the coffin.
1. The neighbor may have been able to elbow the player and knock them down
or
2. This is an unused door busting animation
8:18 (and a little bit more after) these are the animations for the prototype, did you find those in the pre-alpha files? (8:18 was the neighbor dropping the key on the dinner table)
12:18 i think this was used to signify that you would sink into the road (i know alpha 2 has this and this is true)
That song looks like secret neighbor
looks?..
Originally 6 floors would be in the alpha 1 house, however most of them got removed from the game
Well i mean it's not that they were removed. They were just never implemented. From what we know at least
You CAN pick up the ley and remote. just go inside of them and go to the spot where the dot/curser becomes bigger and more whiter. then hold E to pick them up
8:17 this animation was used in the hello neighbor prototype in the intro where the neighbor putting the key on the table
8:28 neighbor uses the microwave wave in hello neighbor prototype
the neighbor is not a placeholder, during beta 3 the neighbor was our father and it symbolised us getting past trauma
7:57 I think this un used Animation is him puting the wording bored on you after u get Buried alive in alpha 1
This is awesome thanks for making
8:00 I think this was for Alpha 1's ending.
It could be but it looks smoother than the actual alpha 1 ending animation to me.
Looks like when th neighbor put the hammer down animation that was used in the teaser. (not the prototype)
Wait he doesn't put the hammer down in the teaser does he?
@@Anteater92006 pretty sure he did and that animations looked like the one in that teaser
@@mrtreadmill355 I don't remember him placing the hammer back down in the early teaser but he did in the announcement trailer, but it was a different animation.
They definitely wanted it to be darker they have concept art of the neighbor with an axe and stuff like that
I thought it was called Fear Factory what it’s really called the secret gym factory in these animations they’re making one of them is posing as putting their heads one of them is just standing there on Sunday or even pulling something what they’re trying to get out of the room and the deathly growl I don’t even know what it is but the screen just has some deleted stuff that’s weird
8:17 the “???” Unused animation is like mr peterson aka the neighbor is just putting the key in the table which this animation leads to the prototype from the announcement trailer
The animations at 7:47 were probably used for secret neighbor animations some look similar for the neighbors animations in secret neighbor
8:15 Looks like the animation that plays during the start of Alpha 2 after you enter the house.
17:05 (I might’ve missed the joke but idk if you where joking or not so) that is a reference to Home Alone
Yeah it is.
@@Anteater92006 yeah that's what would make the most sense, i just thought it was kinda funny that it had a little bit of resemblance to SN
İ think that the door on the menu resembles the door with 3 locks in the basement and i think that the room on the menu is its inside
16:02 as a person who knows russian, this is my translation (might be a bit wrong)

6:34 you can goto that release by changing hello neighbor to 32bit on steam
Yeah, its pretty interesting
5:31 why was this scrapped? Why didn’t they add this in the full game? But with some changes?
8:18 is the neighbor putting down a key. You can see that animation in the intro of act 1
7:52 this is the animation for when you get buried alive in the ending of alpha 1
Perhaps the unused button press animation was for the alpha 1 elevator?
The loading screen map was used in the act1 dream sequence
In alpha 1 is unused car called "Car_drive" which is car that you can with commands spawn and its working and you can drive the car!! But you can´t be inside car sadly :( and driving is little bit odd
15:30 bro I got jumpscared while saw this part
Since some people noticed the the animations that were uniaed for the neighbor had miatakesy ill look an the ones that they didn't mention.
8:15 this animation is used in alpha 2s intrp, wjere the neighbor grabs us, locks door and stuff. 8:18 this is a different varient of him deopping a key in the announcement trailer/prototype
8:21 i dont think its unused, since the filenamw is kitchen_cook
8:28 this ines meant for the toaster
8:41 thia onw is slamming a double door, but it was meant to be used in alpha 2when respaqning after getting caught.
8:50 these weres used in alpha 2, when putting the sleeping pills in his milk
9:03 this walk was used in early builds
9:18 the neighbor still looks put put his windows with thos animation
this video is pretty old but nah who cares.
7:58 this is from alpha 1 ending where neighbor throws coffin lid
8:15 this is from alpha 2 intro
8:18 this is from prototype intro where neighbor putting key on a table
8:22 he's cooking something
8:29 he uses toaster not microwave!
8:41 in alpha 2 when you get catched by the neighbor you can hear door slam but you can't see door slaming.
9:02 this animation was used in alpha 2- beta 3
9:16 he's using broom to clean up windows
(sorry for bad english)
15:29 I can’t even sleep now
What caused weird shit to happen in a minecraft world
I have a suspicion that the wither spawning was you but the rest was likely not you.
@@Anteater92006 the potions could be glitched witch
Possibly. I can believe all the shit that happened was real, just not the wither. Me not believeing you isn't personal by the way, it's just that you were in the same spot where the wither spawned so its a possibility you spawned it. Please just don't take offense to me suspecting you.
alpha 1 3rd and 4th floor layouts?? how do you know these are real?? where did you find them??
I found it in the press-kit. They are real.

Whats the music used at the beggining of the video?
7:57 actually no that isn't a unused 'door slamming' animation, its from alpha 1 when neighbor buries you alive and slams the coffin thingy at you. (if you dont know what i am talking about watch this: th-cam.com/video/fYiyJOXb0AE/w-d-xo.html )
i did consider that, but to me the animation looks sort of different to the one featured in alpha 1. so if it really is different then it could be an unused version of that animation
the neighbor talked??
The at 17:06 is a spoof of home alone I’m pretty sure
