Can I also just say that the Lions drafting a G in the 6th round whose name is Christian Mahogany and plays the part means that Brad Holmes is an alien? LOL
This is what i immediately look forward to after every game. Appreciate the hell out of you coach. These breakdowns just add another layer of understanding to the game.
I don't have any football offense or defense strategy knowledge, but I REALLY appreciate that you do. I like listening to the terms you use and maybe someday I'll learn the terms and understand and appreciate the game even more. Thanks for your commentary! I really do enjoy your knowledge of the intracecies of the sport. GO LIONS!!!!!
Great video as always!! This is the exact lineup I wanted out there in the 2nd secondary knowing Iffy would be back. Iffy has a similar skill set as Branch and plugs right in. Meek did great on the outside. Some of the plays he got beaten on was just perfect throws and WR play. Moving Branch to Nickel was perfect. He had his hand in almost all the run plays. He did an excellent job defending the inside WR's well. Same as Meek, the plays he got beaten on were uncoverable. He was right on the WR's hip. Also Jamo needs to cut out those Unsportsmanlike penalties. They can come back to bite us in closer games.
He had the one good play in the end zone but other than that whoever he covered caught every ball thrown his way so not good at all. I’m a Lions Fan too
None of the Lions' offseason acquisitions before 2024 season started were mercenaries - Reader, CDIII, Amik, (and Tim FING Patrick, LOL - I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but did Sean Payton and Dan Campbell tamper on him? LOL) they'll be here for a while and we're all better for it!
you pointed it out correctly it seems the lions offense have to get points consistently in the first half because the defense struggles with getting stops in the second half hopefully with the return of a couple starters in the coming weeks maybe that changes
Thank you coach! A good day for the Lions for sure! A win in Chicago coupled with a Commanders win despite their 5 turnovers to the Eagles. The Lions hold their destiny in their own hands. Defensively the Lions did have 3 key stops early and show themselves coming together as a "patchwork" unit. How they fare against Minnesota rather than Chicago will be telling; let alone how the 49ers will fare next Monday! Like your comments about teamwork coach especially on offensive with skill guys blocking for each other etc. Good comments Coach. As to a film study would like to know if you can look at Smith switching up along the defensive line and if that has been a help or a hindrence for Aaron Glenn. Today Smith drew a " hands to the face" penalty and I do not recall if he pressured Caleb Williams or not! Just a thought though. Again many good comments Coach. Keep up the good work!
I believe mahogany should be the starting Lg going forward all respect to graham but we need a young dawg on our oline mahogany reminds me of Jonah Jackson in the run game I hope he gets to start against San Francisco I would like to see how he does against that dline I feel like he brings a nastiness that we were missing as a former oline man I like what I saw from the rookie
I would like to see the Stumble-Fumble more closely on the ALL-22. It is so nifty. Plus I just want to see how the whole field shaped up during that play. Like one of the announcers said: "It was like they drew the play up in the dirt..." LOL
4:08 On live it looked to me like Terrion Arnold was expecting safety help from Melifonwu that was late. Cover 2 beater especially if Safety doesn't get there in time.
The final form of the Lions offense has always been about two men on the field at the same time: Gibbs and Jamo (at least since they pounded tables after trading back to pick Jah in 2023). The speed on the outside combined with the speed and elite RB play in the backfield means every down is a pick-your-poison defensive call. You have zero options to guard against them both, and Ben and Jared have been doing this for almost three full seasons now to make you pay with either deadly option. Montgomery, St. Brown, LaPorta, Patrick, Brock Wright, Dan fricking Skipper - they're all great, but when you have Waymo and Sonic on the field together, you have your best chance to score the most points every time the ball is snapped. All of those great players' jobs get easier (EG: St. Brown's conversion on 3rd and 17 today). Better than most offenses that have ever taken the field, and every significant stat shows it.
Dude, I have questions. I watched this live. I feel like every time Swift touched the ball, he was chunking us for 6 or 7 yards. There's no way he has 9 touches for 20 yards. That CANNOT be right. Am I crazy?!
Amik is feisty at corner. Great at hand fighting on the line jamming receivers and knocking off timing patterns. Solid tackler.
Yes but I need to see it in the playoffs when it counts
@@johnbarfield4858 Dude is a dawg. Very consistent
I’d say great tackler
took down swift at least once I can remember that saved a potential big chunk on the edge. is always good for at least a couple important tackles
It was great seeing Melifanwou. His speed really helps the pass rush out.

Look forward to your videos more than any other Lions content. 🏆
Amazing analysis as always. Appreciate how you present your content. Thank you Go Lions!
I think us as Lions fans should feel a bit better about our chances for winning the SB. Goff gives a chance. 🤙🏻✌️
I wld love to see you do a video on rookie Christian Mahogany 1st start vs the bears?!?! Im curious to know how he did, I assume really well!
We're calling that play the stumblerooksi
It's called stumblebum, keep that Kansas chief crap in Missouri. 😅😂

The speed is obvious Coach. 🔥🔥🔥 You see it!!!

Always enjoy your analysis. Thanks for making the effort every week.
Do you mind reviewing some of Terrion Arnold’s plays? I feel like he played well outside of that TD he gave up

Love your work, looking forward to your next Lions video
Just a personal suggestion but id love to hear what you thought how Christian Mahoganys debut at LG, from first view seemed like he was very good
IMO dude was great he laid 2 amazing blocks in the game and he was really good in the run game
you pointed it out correctly it seems the lions offense have to get points consistently in the first half because the defense struggles with getting stops in the second half hopefully with the return of a couple starters in the coming weeks maybe that changes

Don’t compare anybody to Jonah. There’s a reason he’s gone.

LOL, I'm lowkey pissed they didn't red flag Gibbs' first TD - two more carries screws up his YPC LOL
Go Lions
First on the likes! Bam!
Is this the commentary/reaction video or film review?
Iffy should have had a sack on the first play of the game. Also there was so many holding penalties NOT called.
Stumbum

Swift was tackled for a loss several times.
Yes, yes you are.
