I got more out of this than any other long winded discussions about company balance sheets and growing sectors analysis or such. What a simple way to guage a business. Just look at the moat and if it is getting bigger, stay invested.
    Thanks for this👏

Incredible that Mohnish was more polite than one or two of those students.. Some youths need to realise that they were asking questions to a legend.

The issue is when I was a student ,it was more rules based on what was in the books , what they don't tell you is mkts are more irrational than that which you can only learn when you put your own funds in or even look at tge front end .mkts humble you 😌 .

@@oilhand3691 you cearly don't understand the company if you don't know why its a buy right now and its not just GDP its GDP per capita which is the average income of the each person their is no better company other then maybe tencent which will benefit in the huge increase over the next decade this will provide a larger tailwind then any other factor I mean just look at how many consumer based industry Alibaba disrupts it affects pretty much every part of a person's life in China though ecom, payment services, grocery, entertainment, media and more so with the IMF forecasts on GDP per capita such to reach 17K from 11K by FY2026 this will cause a huge increase in consumer spending which is also the CCP main focus right now as they try and move away from net exports this is the biggest opportunity by far for BABA this also doesn't included BABA B2B segments so yeah BABA could go parabolic over the next 5-10 years.

Monish said....Buy great business by great management. Don't sweat the intrinsic value.
Let's take GE or Boeing as an example. Both had at one time great management and great businesses. Both have not done well. How would we have known that over the year? What are the signs we need to see so that we don't make another GE or Boeing mistake.
I think it is MUCH easier said than done.

I haven't seen much from this guy but my impression is he is one of the guys promoting hype. When it comes to individual stocks, I listen to a high quality analysis from Everything Money, Sven Carlin, and Monish Pabrai, just to name a few. Most of the TH-cam gurus don't know what they are talking about, so finding good examples to follow is the first challenge. The second one is to not follow blindly because even the best investors will make some mistakes as they themselves admit and then thirdly I think you should consider working with an advisor too, like Teresa Jensen white. It will boost your learning process
