got a pair of these monitors for xmas last year, as my first pair of studio monitors it took me a bit to get used to the flat response, but now i love them, affordable and good quality
Thanks for the review. If you had a high end Mic we could hear a better sample of sound quality. But no worries. I currently have a set of the AV42's and for what I do, they sound pretty good. But I need bigger sound so I reckon the BX8 D3's are a good step up. For the price, you can't get better than M-Audio (in my opinion). One can always upgrade later if need be, to perhaps, Adam monitors or even go as hard as Dynaudio.
@@denkobert2342 I’m old school bro when I bought them I plug them up and fired them up for the first time in this video I’ve never heard of breaking into them in with pink noise just break them in by using them that doesn’t mean crank them up to full volume
Put that stimulus $ to good use💪. I did have some presonous 5.25" speakers in my cart but stumbled upon these 8"ers. Am seriously considder them due to larger woofer. How's the bass on these? Do you need a sub to toggle or headphones still for checking low bass levels or can these reproduce good down to 35hz on their own? Also, did you run any kind of eq before the speakers to adjust for room coloration? The Presonous have tone knobs on the back but these don't so am kind of torn.

@@lightsoutmedia7370 Good to know, you actually got lucky getting those when you did. I tried pulling the trigger on Thoman.com and they said m-audio wont let them ship it to the US. Then I checked other sights and the 8" speakers were NOWHERE to be found. You litteraly cant buy them any more in the US unless you go on ebay where they're over $500 for a pair. So you sir lucked out. I ended up taking a gamble on Swissonic 7" speakers off Thoman. Thanks for the review though, they looked nice
Where should i have my volume set if one can always just trun up the volume from my scarlet interface? just wondering if it makes a difference. any help from anyone is greatly appreciated. Kind regards.
Since I do not yet have this great looking M-Audio speaker connected to my computer, I can hear diddly squat of this video. Amazing that a video about a speaker you cannot hear.
I am on the fence on buying these speakers. I make electronic music like trance, techno, house etc. and I also DJ. I think the 8» elements are covering my need and they also go deep (around 39 HZ). Would you recommend them for my style of music? I subbed your channel btw. 😊 I love your beats.

Only thing I don't get is that button at the back to change the 'acoustic space' cause I don't hear any difference, but hey, what a sound, I'm very happy with it (and so are my neighbours, i guess :-) ) Cheers dude.

They are confusing excessive highs with flat sound, these speakers took the place from the KRK and it is going for more friend, Adam they are super colorful, KRK has much more bass than m audio, Yamaha only serves to mix voices, Presonus lacks mids, so mention me one totally flat and perfect. They all have advantages and disadvantages, all of them. I have this one and I also have the eris e5 xt, I prefer more audio, it's your ear that gets used to it and yours is used to the mids and highs

Like I said in the video I baby my stuff I usually turn it to the 1/2 point and let my prosonus studio monitor do the volume control
The LEDs are directional. Laser like. The way you have them set up is high. The space between tweeter and driver should be at your ear level.

They are really bassey. Got mine today for DJ use. Great sound quality but my neighbours not gonna like these. They are massive as well.
I love them although I have them in storage but when I was using them I never turned the volume pass the 1/2 way mark and they were still loud

To save you 12 minutes these are waay too heavy on the bass to produce but decent for a cheap dj set up as they're powerful.
