FD signifier sent me here and then I see Kreia in the title and that’s an instant sub for me!

I’ve never played this game, but wow I love how that scene emphasizes the player’s role in the story, that depending on which side you pick you push Kreia into a different mindset, it’s not that you turn her into a villain but without you that can’t have happened it makes me really wanna play it

First off, why is this video lowkey hilarious? I mean, that whole description of the Mandalorian Wars was just **chef's kiss** and comparing the Exile and Kreia to Tiffany after being yelled at by Tyra was sooo unexpected. Had me smiling the whole video.
I had always interpreted that "you were afraid" line to refer to the Jedi Council, their fear of the Exile and what she represents. But the Exile's fear? Never once crossed my mind. Thank you for opening my eyes to that, very insightful.
Like you, I was around 13 (maybe younger) when I played, and I really did not like Kreia at first. Maybe it was immaturity, maybe it was the dark oppressive atmosphere of the game, maybe it was the fact that my little Christian heart wasn't ready for such moral gray area... whatever the reason, I just couldn't pick up what she was putting down. It's cool to see someone else had a similar experience.

Kreia made this game my favorite of the Old Republic games. Just love her character so much! Thank you for your perspectives on her.
When I think of Kreia, I remember most an interaction where you are given 2 choices , give a beggar money, or threaten him with death. The game forces you into a light side dark side choice. No matter which you pick she is angry with you and goes into a long lesson that is disigned to get you to think about how your actions affect not just the moment in which you take them but beyond as well.

She's a really interesting character. In games most characters, especially companions, fawn over the player character and stroke the players' ego. Kreia is the opposite. She challenges you, no matter what you do, lies to you and manipulates people around you to suit HER goals, not yours. Yet she is still fascinated by the player character and their fates are deeply intertwined. It's an interesting approach for sure, even if she's a somewhat divisive character, or at least she was at the time this game came out.

This video analysis is perfect, and I don't want my commentary to come across as my saying you missed something, but kreias philosophy and those influence limitations you spoke on serve one final purpose, and in this scenario is dually earned from the devs: to encourage replay, and variety. Thank you -void

Thank you so much for making this video, it is always a blessing to get Kreia content! Your analysis was absolutely perfect and a pleasure to listen to! Kreia is a top favorite of mine from the SW roster and I absolutely adore this game, thanks again for covering it.

And now I have another game to add to the backlog lol. I found the exploration of the Jedi in Johnson’s take on Star Wars interesting, so hopefully they’ll at least consider this nuanced approach to the force going forward. Gotta love that Knights of the Old Republic engine too.
Subbed and liked, good luck going forward!

Wow, an excellent video and explanation of the deeper themes which motivated a very unique character from an underrated game. It is one of my Goto examples for great gameplay/storytelling. Also "no longer canonically Canon™ " was great.
    Liked and subbed!

Renee Zellweger is the perfect actress to play Kreia. Watch her opening monologue in her new TV show on Netflix called What/if. Gave me chills!

Thank you for this great analysis of this great game. Many people have talked about this game, including this scene, but this gave me another view on it.

Loved it! I've always loved Kreia for similar reasons, but was never able to make of her view. I like your questioning institutions take! 💙

Did she kill them (the Council)? Or did she ultimately give them the same choice the Exile made? Live without the Force or die. I believe she gave them the ultimatum above. If she wanted them dead she would have just killed them outright, not teach them before killing them.
Ps, this video was rather calming.

Never heard of this game but I loved your analysis. It's sorta a cliché nowadays to subvert Star Wars perception of black and white morality but boy do I never get tired of it.
