So I want to upgrade my old outdated system. I really wanted to go the whole huge surround sound. With the speakers in the wall, speakers in the ceiling, floor speakers and a massive subwoofer. I had a local stereo company come out and cut me a deal there’s gonna be $250 to install everything and then of course to buy all my equipment it’s going to be around $1800. I literally just stumbled across the surroundsound system two days ago it has me super curious. What’s gonna be the huge difference between this and the route I wanted to go spending $1800 on a full home theater system?Am I going to get the real movie affect going my route or if I save some money and get this is it gonna give me the same sound?

adrian kisaghi And? One day I was on Amazon and searched for a 40" 4k from LG, then I saw a 49" where a new product of the TV was shown under that TV, I clicked on It, and it was a 43" for the same price.
No one can prevent that someone fails in how he makes the System, it can happen, I just wanted to say that you shouldn’t be so naive and believe everything what stores throw you on your Display man.

The subs actually use wifi @5ghz and if your WiFi is on the same channel the bandwidth of the sound system overtakes your 5ghz WiFi and it slows to a crawl. To fix you have to manually set your 5ghz wifi to a channel outside of whatever 5ghz channels it uses!!!!

    • @TheArchitect5150
      @TheArchitect5150 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

You're spreading false information, the subs connect at 5.8GHz so as long as your router is set to auto you'll be fine and it'll keep you at channels that are less congested, just like how people have a ton of bluetooth speakers which are 2.4GHz but their wifi still works fine . Plus it's using the same frequencies as wifi but it isn't wifi, that's like saying a microwave is "using wifi".

After owning the LG Sj9. I grabbed the 9.2 ln December when it was on sale for$1099. Then an additional $100. Off the price when I noticed the sound bar's grill had a Small dent in it. Other than that the sound of the Nakamichi can get to theatre level with no problems. Clear soundeffects, dialogue is perfect and the surround sound is literally on point. You will get your money worth and more with this system and no regrets either.

I know this video is old, but I was re-watching it because I think I am finally ready to pull the trigger on buying one. However, you mention you wish that all the speakers were wireless/wifi, but also that it takes up 3 plugs. If all 4 of the satellite speakers were wireless, you'd then have it taking up 7 plugs. So it's a trade off, and likely why they chose to power 2 of the surround speakers off of each subwoofer. It would also require that each satellite speaker had a built in amplifier and DAC, adding more cost, and complexity to it. The only other way to accomplish a truly wireless experience would be with batteries that you'd have to charge every so often, which again will create more complexity and probably lead to user frustration, who wants all of their speaker batteries to die while watching a movie? I think this is a great review, and I'm very likely going to pick up this soundbar within the next month or two, but just thought I'd share why it's not 100% wireless...

  • @Chris_Wolfgram

I clicked on this to see a 1000 wt soundbar.... not A 1000 wt surround sound setup.... and I'm guessing I'm not alone, considering its an otherwise well done video, yet only gets 9 to 1 for likes to dislikes. Should be at least 30 to 1.

Right now I'm running a sony receiver with klipsch speakers and its amazing. If you want to save some money I do recommend going with klipsch because there very sensitive to frequency so you can save a lil money on an avr. Just letting you know that it is VERY expensive depending on what you want.

Don't get me wrong. This is a great product but I thought soundbars were supposed to replace multiple speaker systems to get great sound from a small package and to supplement the tv's speaker which are horrible most times. Does this soundbar (or the cheaper variants 7.1.4 or 7.2.4) natively support eARC? or it is supported firmware upgrade? will that (eARC support via firmware) be any issue compared to a soundbar that has native eARC support (the one that comes with out-of-the-box eARC support without needing any firmware)?

So how far away can the subwoofer be from the sound bar without any lag or delay, my room requires the subwoofer to be 12-13 feet away from the sound bar is this an issue or not a problem? I checked out the website and all it says is to have the subwoofer close to the tv for better performance but doesn't show any distance noted? Please help me out thanks so much! Also I know the side speakers are wired so that isn't a problem just the subs from the bar.

Thanks for the video. I would have liked to have seen: 1) wattage break down of sound bar, subwoofers, and surround speakers, 2) input/outputs of each, 3) footage of the TV as you are going through sound bar menus on the remote, 4) your opinion of the sound quality when the surround speakers are put together in the dipole configuration. observation: as we were seeing you sitting on the couch, we saw the left subwoofer beside the couch and both left surround speakers...on the right we saw the subwoofer against the wall and 2 right surround speakers (but one you had moved behind the couch and we could see the wire on the floor). That speaker could be moved to that same wall where the subwoofer is and you would still get the same sound feeling. it's still behind you as you sit on the couch, just a little further away. that way the wire won't be stretched across the room and could be tripped over. You mentioned that out of all your sound systems, this one was the best. Thanks for that. As far as being (or not being wireless)....the subwoofers are wireless between those and sound bar, but surround speakers ARE wired to subwoofer. I think this is acceptable, other wise you will need to either change/charge batteries for the surround speaker, or you must have a power outlet for each speaker. I'd rather have 4 wires (2 on each side) versus 3 power outlets (and power cords going to each speaker) on each side. all in all, good review Sir. 11/19/20

How would you compare your Bose Cinemate GSII. I know the Cinemate 130's acoustimass is smaller than the GSII, have your heard the difference between the two?
How do you like your system, I am looking to purchase another used system for my kids game room?

@@nephi30 I haven't heard the 130. 10 years ago I had a first generation Cinemate system and thought it sounded kind of flat, so I ran it thru an equalizer and it really helped a lot.
Now, I have the GS II and it sounds much better than the original. No EQ required. I got it off eBay. $300 shipped in pristine condition. Shipped in original box, with all paperwork and manuals. Plus, they thru in a $200 set of floor stands to boot. I hit the Jackpot!😊

The more I see of the reviews of nakamichi. I may have to break down and buy. Hoping for a BF sale to grab it. I did notice the wiring across the floor. I would set the room up for the sound not just focus around the couch. Myself I'd keep the Left side woofer, rear, and side against the wall. The sound should still fill the room. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the overview!

Hi mate, that looks awesome, I have a Samsung Q90R soundbar with just the sub , it also has 2 upfiring rears. It's a 7.1.2
How would it rate vs this beast you running? Would it be worth getting rid of the Q90 and to get one of these? I must say , the thought of having 2 subs , rather than one is very mouth watering, However the Q90R sound bar does have great sound with both atmos upfires and dtsx. But sometimes the bass sounds phenomenal, but sometimes on occasions when I listen to music , it seems like a lack of bass , that has occurred with some movies also , and I do have the bass turned up as high as it could go, so do you think it be worth the upgrade? I run the bar with a 75" Samsung tv

Would this sound bar with as many speakers that come with it make it sound close to a components setup. I listen to Netflix, TV, sports , and play ps4 pro. Would this sound bar be close to components? Thanks Jimmy or anyone that has knowledge in Home theater setup? Great video thanks for the information.

Nakamichi speakers are garbage. And I'm not paid for this review!
I brought this sound bar due to the high reviews it got. After using it I would say the reviews are way overly positive. Either everyone has very low expectations or they have never heard a quality system. I guess if u are going from an ipod to this this is a great system. But if you have something to compare this system (like Bose) with than there are a lot of shortcomings that does not demand this price. The followings are some of the issues I found with the 7.2.4 system after 2 weeks of usage:
    1. The system is present to turn on at volume 45, need to load patch to fix.
    2. The sound system logic is very basic, nothing compares to a full fledge sound amplifier that provide much much more audio detail. This system lacks any directional audio detail.
    3. You can bearly hear anything out of the rear speakers, they are only ON about 5% of the time.
    4. The sound producted from the system is just loud with very very minimal surround sound detail. 2d audio vs 3d audio
    5. The connection wire for the rear speakers are very thin, it's about 3mm thick. I guess it doesn't matter because no audio comes out of it anyway.
    6. The speaker setting display is on the center soundbar behind a grill, display in pixel led. You will not be able to see the display if you are more than 5-8ft away. For the price they couldn't create an on screen display? Useless
    7. The Audio sounds like you are in a tunnel, I guess thats what they think 5.1 should sound like.
    8. The speaker will sometime pop as you traverse through Netflix selections.
    9. There is a 5 second delay in Netflix after a selection before sound comes out of the speakers.
    10. The solution for the slow processing speed for the volume control is to have the volume selection slip every other number. So, the volume control is only usable by 2 digit increments. 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. So if u think 7 is just right too bad that is not available. Super dumb!
    11. The inwall screw anchor is one size too large. There is a great chance the screws could pop out. You should insert an additional anchor into the one provided.
    12. The sound level fluctuates.
    13. The HDMI cables that came with it are garbage. For a grand, I would think they could spend $10 bucks for a better cable. I guess milk you once since they know you won't buy again. Smart business.
    14. The location of the HDMI plugs are brainless. This is a sound bar that will be mounted on the wall below the TV. But the placement of the HDMI plugs are at the back of the unit not even facing up. Little thought was put in to design this system.
I just did all the work for them on version 3.0 for free.
Overall, this system didn't meet my expectation and the brand quality of Nikamichi. Will come back if I find anything else.
Please give me a thumbs up if this was helpful.
Update (April 2021) - These speakers are garbage. I just can't express how much I hate these speaker. Over price junk. It has so much problems that it should be considered Beta speakers. Today the soundbar just started to automatically turnoff every 20 mins. I guess it because it decided to put itself on standby mode. I spent 2 hours and still cant find out how to turn that off. JUNK!
(JAN2022) - I had to come back here to provide another update. I thought I could get use to the system after some time. But one can never get use to garbage because it just get more disgusting over time. This sound bar is beyond the ability to describe. If you pay over $200 for this system you are over paying. That is why you see so many people trying to dump this garbage. I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit for the grief this system cause! Please save yourself the agony and buy something else.
(Jan2022) - Now the speaker is acting up. The eARC is not detecting apple TV. Must unplug and reply again. This has happened many many times. Can't express how much these speakers are garbage
(May2022) - Now I have no idea what is wrong with the speakers. When I turn it one it does not go to the last set values. Not I have to set it every time. Also the unit is running slower. I haven't heard much from the rear speakers for months. I'm really tired of these speakers. I know why people are selling them. I just wish the company would take this junk back.
(JUN2022) - just watched the new star wars show with the speakers. The show has ATMOS. You wouldn't be able tell with this audio system. 99% of the time it's only the sound bar that is running. I think the logic chip junk and is unable to process any of the audio correctly. $1000 for this system is ridiculous, when a $100 system would sound better.
