I've played a few songs without a thumbpick before for various reasons. I decided not to use the thumbpick for this piece because it made the bass stand out too much and it also detracted from some of the more expressive changes in the piece. Thanks for listening.
I would recommend checking out The Alex de Grassi Fingerstyle Guitar Method. It is available on his website. Also, the 120 studies for the right hand by Mauro Giuliani are good to get your picking hand moving.
Just stumbled across her looking up Black Mountain Rag and am tracking down everything she has on utoob. This is brilliant. I used to be enchanted by di Grassi and this is even more so.
Looking up Richard Thompson, and I stumbled upon your rendition of 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. You know how people say you find the best things in life when you least expect them? This is one of those occasions. I think you're absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to hear all of your music. Thanks so much for sharing, and I hope to listen to you live one day!
I'm just a callow 65-year-old, but one thing that works for me: As long as you keep planning for the future, tomorrow will keep coming. Pick one of Macyn's songs and learn it. I'm gonna watch for your video. -David Pike
Wow I did not know you could get such vibrant bass out of light gauge strings. I suppose on a guitar that fine anything is possible. Wonder how they would sound on my Martin D-35 :)
Since I was last here, I have learned who Alex de Grassi is, and signed up for his course. Now I'm back and convinced more than ever that I am blessed to have experienced Macyn 's playing and Alex' composition.
Wonderful playing. And a piece like that needs a great sounding guitar. I'm surprised to read above that you haven't made a cd. You really could play your favorite artists' work on a CD paying the mechanical rights. This would be a wonderful project for your incredible abilities for interpretation.
That was beautiful! I think it must be the first time I can see you play without a thumb pick (could be mistaken though) Any reason in particular? Best and thank you!
I have played for a few years; mostly rhythm guitar. I wanted to get into finger picking, but will mostly be teaching myself. I have a pretty good music background. Is there a book you would recommend for people learning to finger pick?
Hey Macyn. Great sound. T.E is my great inspiration. And now so is you. Did you know that "buske" means "bush" in swedish. So your name is almost bush in plural in swedish :) Fun fun! Cya !
OK. I don't understand. I went out and bought me a bookoo dollar axe and I learned to play with my knees crossed and I STILL cant play any way near as well!! What's a guy hafta do, practice??!!

Hello Macyn. Really nice job here. What is the tuning? Thanks in advance. Timmy May
I just can't get enough of this girl. I wonder what Chet Atkins would say about Macyn?
OK. I don't understand. I went out and bought me a bookoo dollar axe and I learned to play with my knees crossed and I STILL cant play any way near as well!! What's a guy hafta do, practice??!!

Hell, I could do that...if my fingers weren't so thick. : )
