i use vegas pro very often so i want something similar to the sapphire effect builder that's built into vegas pro itself so i don't have to install any third-party plugins! (it doesn't matter if the effects are plugins or not plugins)

Have a chat with the VEGAS Pro people. It's a big ask, but you never know until you do.

    Hi
What is the difference between Sappfire and Optics

    • @BorisFXco

Great question. At the highest level, Sapphire for Photoshop is for the mo-graph/edit/vfx crowd and Optics is geared more towards photographers. For example, Sapphire in PS is the same exact suite of effects you would use in AE, while Optics is a limited filter set. Also, you can create an effect preset in Sapphire in PS, and then open that same effect up in Premiere or Resolve.

You need the Photoshop specific installer. Your Adobe license will work with Photoshop too : borisfx.com/downloads/?product=sapphire

Hi. I have Sapphire for Photoshop and also DaVinci Resolve 18. What I can't figure out is how to transfer the pre-set from Sapphire into Resolve. Can you help please?

      Happy to help.
◉ Save the preset from Sapphire for Photoshop and head back into Resolve.
◉ Add S_Effect to the clip you want to affect. Click on Load Preset and it will take you to the Preset Browser.
◉ At the top, hit the Load Preset button and find your saved preset from before.
◉ It will now add that into the list and you can select it as normal.
A little tip when you're saving the preset is to give it a special tag. That way it will be easy to filter when you take it back into Resolve. Hope that helps.

@@BorisFXco Hello again. I must be stupid - I can't find "load preset" in Resolve. Is it possible you could give more detail for an idiot like me?

    • @BorisFXco

You have to apply the S_Effect filter to your clip first. Then go to Inspector > Effects > S_Effect and hit the Load Preset button there.

Why my shape is in White color and not like yours... Transparent? Rest all the setting is the same like you have.

Are you plugging it into the Z-buffer or Matte input? If it runs through the source input, it will show in the shape's color, which defaults to white. Probably easiest if you post a screenshot of your setup in the Boris FX Sapphire forum : forum.borisfx.com/
