Oh my Goodness! My eyes were popping out of my head! I had no idea this took place at Easter. I am not sure that I understood the significance of everything, but I LOVED it!
A beautiful film recording the cultural and religious traditions of the Florentine people, the greatest people in the world. My only fear is seeing those pyrotechnics being used in Santa Maria del Fiore. After what happened to Notre Dame we must now realize that losing these priceless treasures is possible and every precaution must be taken to protect them.
Nobody4president thanks for your wonderful sentiments. Every precaution is taken and there are many at the ready. The pirotechnicasoldi, who make each of the 1600 fireworks by hand have been doing it for 150 years. Expertise and safety. Buona Pasqua!
Liz Wicks had already sent me this, but I was so pleased to see it screening here in Boulder, Colorado in our yearly Italian Film Festival--online of course. Bravo. It is a beautiful films and makes me homesick for my second home Firenze.
Excellent film. Well Done. Although I always went to see the lovely Maremma oxen with their flowery headgear setting off from close to me in Via il Prato, I never witnessed the actual ceremony of the scoppio. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
Excellent
