We built it fr about $200 using some front axles from one of those electric mobility scooters. We got them on ebay for $40 each and connected them with some 1" steel tube. The platform is a cut out from a wood kitchen counter top for a sink installation. It was scrap but too nice to throw out. We wanted to build another one and do a video on how, but I don't know if we will have time.
@@mrdogpoopstudios I was not familiar with the doorway dolly name. Looks interesting. Was not familiar win ProAim, they seem to have a lot of different solutions. Thanks
With the bad luck we have had with skate wheels we really were not expecting much for $700. But we were really impressed. You do get a lot for the money and it is as smooth as the Movmax dolly we reviewed but with hundreds of pounds of weight.
@@ImmobileLizard yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Or water bladder or a couple bean bags. I don't think it will be an issue unless you bump it, but definitely a design flaw. Maybe that is why they made the newer more expensive skates.
It is standard track 24.5". You can get it from Matthews Studio Equipment or anyone that builds compatible track. Here is a link to Matthews track. www.msegrip.com/products/track-sst?variant=12807181566018 If you can find some used you can save a lot of money. But it is hard to find.
We ordered the Proaim 16' tracks, should be here this week, so we plan to do a review on that as well and many other products we already have. Thanks for subscribing.
You can always cover it up with some padding or tape. I doubt it would be a problem, but yes, it could be an issue. I hope they change the design to prevent it.
Nice! Maybe use the old BMX ball protector pads to stop the bell sounds.
That doorway dolly is what I have been looking for

@@mrdogpoopstudios For sure, it looks awesome! Filmmaking tools are really getting affordable hey. Appreciate the reviews.
Maybe put cut of carpet on the handles. Rubber matting idea is good too

Anything hitting it or falling on it to make it ring would itself make a noise and ruin the take anyway.
