I have listened to many covers of this beautiful song through the years and rarely get past the first ten bars. The mistake most make is to try to emulate Kate which is impossible. She is unique in current music history. Instead what you have done is too make it your own. Different speed and haunting feel. Quite magical. We truly are watching a star in the making. I listen to your version to the end and repeat. Well done.
This strikes me as your best result. The song is a beast in both instrumentality and vocal demands. I like the choice in keeping it in full chest and not flipping to head voicing until absolutely necessary. This provides much more depth to the vocals that are striking. Your development is continuing to rise. Keep imparting your translation into the vocal color and feeling which always separates the amateurs from the artists. Bravo!

To be serious: Kate Bush is a special Musician - very special. To cover her music means, to step any steps away from the original, to get a script, "common" Musicians can work with.
To me, this Rendition is as well performed and transcripted and arranged, as it is a complete outstanding masterpiece with some points of remembering the Original.

This was a hit song back in the 1980s. Gladly it has seen a resurgence in 2022.
A fantastic cover of this wonderful song, I’m so glad that Kate Bush is getting recognised by a new younger generation, a lot of people did not get/understand Kate’s music but if you get the series stranger things you will understand all Kate’s songs, the best way to describe them is like being between a state of sleep where you have those wonderful but sometimes disturbing dreams Kate’s music can take you wherever you want to go.

Kate Bush I believe is the most talented female artist of all time and so difficult to copy in any way as her voice is unique.

After this brilliant cover of "Running up that Hill" I've just found my self singing to another classic which is from 1972, I reckon you could do a great version, and that is------------------------------------------------------------Roberta Flack's "the first time ever i saw your face" It's got everything to suit you, romantic, gentle, piano, wide vocal range nice slow pace. it'll be sensational! 🎶🎹🎼𝄢 🌟
It doesn't matter much to me what song you cover. I just love hearing and watching you play the piano. I've played guitar most of my life and have tinkered on pianos and keyboards and just couldn't get playing with two hands. Also, I'd never heard this Kate Bush song let alone Kate Bush but like you and so many others, I'm a huge Stranger Things fan and that song just grew on me as I plowed through season 4. Your voice and playing could even tame something as evil as Vecna.

Hi Emily - I was sitting watching Top of the Pops on the BBC way back in 1978 (yes indeed I am that ancient!) and this gifted young woman came on and sang a little song called Wuthering Heights. I since watched everything she did as she matured as an artist over the decades and brought us some of the most amazing music and videos. I have been a lifelong fan of Kate and she has always has been a cutting edge talent... brilliant musician and songwriter, very original , elegant, weird and wonderful all at the same time. I have all her albums (some on vinyl) and all her videos. A very special artist with a place in my heart. I feel you too are gifted ... perhaps not quite as weird 😉but certainly elegant, wonderful and extremely talented. I hesitated before I watched a cover of a song by one of my idols! I shouldn't have doubted you for a second. This is a very toned down (in a very good way!) and lyrical version and your wonderful piano playing adds a real beauty to the song. You have a way with music and you do everything you sing justice. Emily you're a brilliant young artist ... Kate would love this ...as do I. Thank you 💕 ⭐

David, I have been telling Em from the first time I heard her sing that she was going to be a star, actually a superstar, the kind that is known around the world, but only uses one name, like Madonna, Elvis, etc., I heard it in her voice. I knew in that first song that she was something really special. I don’t know if I told you, but the first song, first verse I heard her sing, she became my favorite singer. That was a couple of years plus ago. The funny thing is that before her, my favorite female voice had been Karen Carpenter, for half a century, and just like that Emily stole her crown. Something no other had done that whole time! Have you caught any of her live performances in front of an audience? She loves it, and she told me that she gets butterflies in her stomach beforehand, but once she is out there center stage, she is fine. I’ve seen her performing ‘live’ on several occasions, and I told her that I never saw even a hint of nervousness, or blushing at all, that she looks absolutely like she belongs center stage, and I believe that’s the truth. She’s one of those rare people who are doing exactly what they want to do, and what they were born to do.
