So I just started My Tata Nano in the morning to go somewhere real quick and I found out that engine is misfiring badly and that's making the RPM fluctuating very bad.
First I thought it might be a simple weak battery issue and will get fixed when I drive the baby nano for a few km but when I started the drive the horror begins to rise as at the very first junction when I just pressed the clutch and brake to slow down a bit the car just stalled as it doesn't have any fuel in it. But there was half a tank of petrol in it.
But even then I thought it might be the digital fuel gauge which is not working. I went to the petrol pump and filled more petrol and now the fuel gauge is showing almost full tank. I was in tension at this point you guys.
So what could be the problem of this severe mis firing and RPM fluctuation in my baby Tata Nano. I hope nthing major with the engine. And i also hope koi chota mota sensor hi ho ya spark plugs...

My Nano LX also facing same problem RPM updown and engine stop while change the gear and clutching... but car mechanic couldn't found the problem and he changed both spark plugs. Problem is not solved and he is now tell me for cleaning fuel injector, fuel motor pressure, and change fuel filter. Now I will tell him regarding throttle body cleaning.

Maine second hand nano cx liya hai 2012 ka model . Mujhe janaa tha ki usme. Engine oil kitna lagta hai aur konse company ka daalna chaahiye

Pehele aur 2 nd gear pe gaadi apne aap aage nikal jaati hai. Jab start kar ke nikaalte hai. To. Aur phir running pe rahi to normal ho jaati hai. Aur start karte hi race bhaut rehati hai aur usse gear daalte hi without race diye .First aur second pe chalne lagti apne aap . Phir thoda aage nikalte hi normal .
Hey Amul👍Thanks for sharing...my Nano has similar issue and it's just a month since it was out of Service from a dealer at BLR. The engine seems to vibrate in the similar fashion in your video.The service advisor at the dealer kept saying there is leak in the water pump that is causing this. I said it's rubbish there is no connection b/w cooling system of the engine and the engine RPM jumping up and down. All these conversations were on the phone and now when called asked me to get the vehicle to dealership. I have video of this in my phone and was wondering if you could take a look and advise if you have time....thanks in advance 🤝

Amul ji , big thanks to you. My car had same problem. I showed it to a Tata Authorised service Centre and as usual "Unhone mera mamu bana diya". They said that this is a problem because of ignition coil and changed it. They took ₹ 2200/- all put together but issue was unresolved. Then I saw this video, instructed them to just clean throttle body and its sensor and now car is perfectly working. Thanks once again

Hi मैंनेअभी नेनो 2010 lx मोडल गाड़ी ली हैं ।उसमें भी बिल्कुल ऐसी ही समस्या आ रही थी।मैने उसका trotal body cleening भी कराया,पर वो फिर भी बंद हो रही थी।फिर उसका सेंसर का प्लग निकाला तो गाड़ी फिर बंद नही हुई ।क्या सेंसर प्लग निकाल कर direct करना सही है कि नही।
कृपया बताएं।
Ho sakta hai ki wo sensor kharab hogya ho so aap sensor new lag wa lo wo better rahega...And direct chalana theek nhi...

While driving in heavy traffic in Chennai in uphill. The vehicle got shut off. While starting and trying to slowly leave the clutch with other foot on brake.... The vehicle is not able to accelerate to overcome the hill and getting turned off without leaving the clutch. I tried with accelerator too yet this not able to generate energy to overcome slope. I tried for 7-10 times. Now i am really afraid if i get in same situation again...what to do. Should i start with second gear? Please help me.
Thank you nice video.. will get it done on my nano. Some time my nano for a few initial kms it looses all throatal power and after running it for 3-4 kms it acts normal. I guess this is the problem.

Amul bhai ek bat thi wo jo wire thi wo accelerator cable haina? To open krane ke bad wapas set krne pe outside mechanic agar proper rpm set nhi kr paya to gadi over heat hone lagegi??
Nhi nhi brother wo toh jaise nikalo waise hi lag jati hai 19 20 ka hi farak aata hai. And isse car ka overheat hone ka koi link nhi hai. Negligible RPM kam ya zada hoga joki pta bhi nhi chalega...

Bhai mare neno 2012 modal hai or vo start nhi ho raha or obd se bhi chake kiya pr koi foult nhi mila or pura self le raha hai pr start nhi ho raha kbhi kbhi start ho raha or off krke fir start krta hu to nhi ho raha

Bhai saheb, mere nano running condition mein on road rukh ja rahi hai. Service centre kuch nahi kar parahe hai .running condition mein gaadi idle ho ja raha hai. Any suggestions for this problem. Please reply. Asap. Thank you..

Yes. Then that means koi electronic fault nhi hai. Koi mechanical fault hoga Jo Nano mein tha. Throttle body ka. Ye hai main panga 😊😊

Check spark plugs and ht leads also. Mera problem toh throttle body ko clean karne se theek hogya. And ecu kon scan bhi karo 1 baar and aapki battery ki age kitni hai.

Nhi brother radiator ka fan engine garam hone k baad on hota hai.
No arpit bro....the radiator fan is connected through ecu when engine temperature reaches 94c then fan on then it cool down to around 75-80 its off then this cycle repeat !! Todays modern car collects ecu real time data and this will ensure mileage and better drivability of car!!

Change the Spark plug wire.. both sides
Yeah brother actually thats the first thing we checked and it felt fine both the wires and the spark plugs. And after cleaning the throttle body the RPM fluctuations was totally gone and even after almost 1000kms is normal. 😊😊

Boomy ho rha ho cabin. Mera bhi hota tha kuch saal pehle. Cabin ka pressure release nhi ho pa rha hai. check karo boot mein cabin air pressure ka duct koi blockage hai kya wahann...
How you know rpm is fluctuating....at first
The engine is losing power then jumping back to power and vibrating like crazy. Only because RPM is fluctuating. You can feel the speed of engine just by listening to it and feeling its vibrations. And if you still can't figure it out you can always use a obd2 elm327 to see the exact rpm in non rpm Meter cars.

Bhai nano ki headlights mein 55/60 watts k halogen bulbs aate hai like any other car. And light ko engine k saath hi on rakhna battery down nhi hogi. 😊

Usually bhai 800 rpm hota hai non ac and ac on karte hi 1000 touch karta hai. And maine khud kabhi set nhi kiye aap throttle body se hi karlo laptop ka jhanjat rahega...And sorry for late reply bhai...

Brother i did this along with the complete service so the labour cost is Rs 600 and rest all i got it myself.

Complete City and super short distances give me 100 to 115 km in Rs 500 petrol. Before the petrol price hike. Now it will surely be under 100 tops.

Pick up baithi hui hai kya brother. Then might be your air filter is choked and also get your throttle body cleaned. Sab normal hojayega. 😊😊
