This showed up in my recommended! The passion & honesty in this interview is exactly what makes Canada’s music scene the best in the world. We are so diverse from coast to coast to coast. 24/5/2023 Thank you.
Hawksley is so unique and amazing. In a world full of manufactured pop bimbps and repetitive rap, I'm so glad there are still artists like him nowadays.
I saw Hawksley in Mt. Forest at a small theatre with amazing acoustics. He gives a full out performance and is totally engaged with the audience - completely at home in the spotlight. One of the very best concerts I've ever been to. C'mon back, HW!
He has that thick Ontario Canadian accent ..its funny how people outside of Canada think we have only one accent but its pretty regional just like the States
I love Hawksley Workman... he is probably one of the best singer/songwriters in Canada. Also, I love the way he praised Newfoundland. You don't hear a lot about our province from other Canadians, and if you hear it from somewhere outside of Canada they're always pronuncing it "Newfinlind" or somewhere there abouts.
So happy he lauded Hey Rosetta! They're an awesome band that will break out very soon. Of course I'm from Newfoundland and have been a fan of theirs for years now so I might be a tad biased. :)
I think its hilarious how the crowd and George thought Hawksley was going to say something derogative about NL and then look surprised as he compliments the shit out of it.
Hawksley makes me drool, in a very elegant sort of...no, i just drool over everything. It is amazing to know that the great artists are so aware of everything that surrounds them and their own places in life. I wonder if it's too bad that Hawksley didn't mention people like Joni Mitchell or Buffy Saint-Marie when he was listing great Canadian artists still making music in their later years?
why are you talking about being old, when you're not even close!! i feel i know way more now than i did when i was "young", and do better and better work as i mature... keep your vitality, keep learning and growing, and your work will only get better.
This is a great interview of a damn fine songwriter.

Oh I love Hawskley so much! Can't wait to see him and Mr Lonely again
thank god there are some people who are able to recognize that.

mmm. blow...
Naw I was just making a Canadian joke. Gay marriage etc. OK if u have to explain a joke it isn't a joke anymore. But thanks for asking!
I think the 'accent' is a Huntsville thing...speaking from the perspective of someone from Huntsville and grew up with the guy lol
hm....i see two men with soul patches, side burns, and earring.....coincidence?
probably :P
And Gordon Lightfoot is impressed with
Drake ??????? So off base. "Hawksley Kicks butt"
He's an ar-tiste. they get to wear the funky nonsensical clothes.
A cold. He's still too articulate and focussed to be on coke.
