- On August 12, 2023 in Florida, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had just fled the scene of a shoplifting. The caller reported that the shoplifter had grabbed various items from two stores at an outlet mall before getting into a red Mercedes SUV and speeding away. This is body cam footage of the events that followed.

Because the other clothes were likely stolen from different stores and those stores didn't catch her or press charges. She was charged for what she stole from Old Navy because that's who called the cops and that's who pressed charges.

They had no choice. It was either get a car seat or call CPS out to deal with the situation. The child was going to need a child seat in order to be transported anywhere. I'm sure they would rather get the child seat and send this fool down the road than deal with having to wait around for child protective services to show up and deal with all the paperwork involved. They did it mostly for their own benefit, and I don't blame them one bit.
