This song is very emotional for Muslims. Prophet Muhammad pbuh and his companions were persecuted in the city of where they were born called Makkah. The tribes of Madinah were Pagans, Christians and Jews and they heard of Muhammad’s character and offered Prophet Muhammad pbuh an invitation of refuge in Madinah. They said they required Muhammad as he was known to the people as a honest, righteous and pious person and he was to help resolve the disputes within their own tribes. Prophet Muhammad and his companions who were driven from their homes and entered the city of Madinah. The leaders of all the tribes came to the desert forming a barrier to illustrate Prophet Muhammad was within their protection. When they entered Madinah, the women and children sang this song in delight with the beat of a drum. You won’t be surprised to see the tears of Muslims falling when they hear this, as the Pagans of Makkah treated the Prophet and his companions with no mercy. So many died and the song of welcome brings much emotions to everyone.
