I'm very pale. So while I understand not having flattering contour(it's all yellow and I'm already very yellow!) I can always use alternatives. (Blushes are good for this!) I can't imagine having to try HARDER just to get contour. I feel for her. No woman should feel left out like that.

@@AnHeC yes and no. You sometimes can't combine or layer up certain products. Full coverage can get/feel disgusting on the face. Contours are easier to layer without adding bulk, they are designed for that. While possible it's not easy... Not having the right contours can waste a lot of time. Makeup is supposed to be a fun luxury... Kind of not fair to those who worked for that luxury to have to deal with further complications because of their skin.

Would mixing a black shadow with a contour shade work for deep peeps?
What do deep skin tone people do to contour, if you do?
Do y'all just do different layers of highlight and use your natural tone as your contour?
I have a black paper sketchbook and thats what you have to do there. I leave the shadows blank, mid tones get some color, and highlight get a lot of color.
Brit Brit a darker contour wouldn’t look good, it would look ashy. I’ve seen an inverse contour (a highlight of sorts) that brightened the face instead of putting contour on the sides and it looked great.

If I go even one day without moisturizing with my serums/oils, my skin becomes so textured and dry. So don't let the shine fool you, that takes hard work to maintain that look.

It’s probably because it’s difficult to formulate something dark enough that doesn’t just look black or muddy.
@@sweetpjeb23 The thing is it's actually not THAT difficult. If you watch videos about the process of making makeup, you'll see that the same three basic primary colors are generally used to form the shade.

@@noanewman5237 many products work for many poc, myself included. However the products don't cater not nearly enough for dark skintones as they do for light ones(everyone knows this I'm just restating it) I agree that the defense of them 'not selling' is bullshit.
My oily ass skin has zero interest in this foundation but I DO have interest in your opinion. Lol. If brands are going to come out with a matte foundation they should always have a hydrating one ready in the wings. 👌🏾
Cristin Mitchell girl same. I actually returned my original pro filter matte foundation because my skin was TOO oily for it. Seriously. Odds of me trying this one: 0/10.
I have extremely oily skin & surprisingly this foundation looks soooo good and last so long on me. But you have to use it with the matifying primer. I wore it to the club girl! Got drunk & still looked good at the end of the night. No touch ups or nothing.

@@kendall09 this actually may work for you better. Sometimes your skin isn't oily but dehydrated so when you put matte products on it your skin gets even more dehydrated and compensate by over producing oils.
Honestly Fenty has totally changed the makeup game with their shade range and I love it

Nyma, thank you!! I've been following you from the beginning and I'm so thankful for influencers like you. I have so much more confidence in my own skin and I find myself both overwhelmed and excited by how the deep category is changing. I used to be only 1-2 shades from the end that now when I find myself 5-8 shades from the end, I'm shook.
I think you are single-handedly one of the BIGGEST reasons we're seeing an overhaul to the deep dark category. When you started your initial "the darkest shade" series, I feel like it highlighted so clearly what was wrong with the dark category. There was something so powerful seeing a darker-skinned woman like you swatch and try foundation shades that were too light or just the completely wrong undertone that I think highlighted for brands that this was something they couldn't afford to sleep on.
I've been finding a new love for makeup and I know it's because I have so many options these days. Reverse contour isn't my only option anymore. I can find a bronzer that's dark enough for me. I can find non-ashy highlighters. These moments are so small but it's allowed me to rediscover myself and my beauty so thank you!

I love this stuff. It does dry down darker though. The olive undertone is perfect for me and I couldn’t believe how well it matched. Riri is killing it! I love this stuff so much!
My skin is only dry during the winter so I'm going to switch to this formula come November to see if my skin prefers it.
Whoopsy Daisy I haven’t personally tried this but I am totally going to but most of the reviews I have seen have said that this is super dewy and works for really dry skin and not sure if even combo would like it but I am sure changing up your primer you can make it work. Sorry just thought I would tell you that so you could buy it somewhere like Sephora to make it easier to return if it doesn’t work.

I use a lily cup (ever since December 2018) and it’s the BEST thing ever. Like you won’t believe how life changing it is. I seriously forget I have my period and I bleed super heavy and had the worst cramps, so I definitely noticed when I had it before 😂
I have oily skin so I absolutely love the original Fenty foundation! Can’t get enough of it! 😍 And I love it when you match to your face as opposed to your neck. It just makes your skin look even more radiant! 💕

Ive been using the hydrating on my cheeks well basically everywhere but my tzone and the mattifying on the tzone and it is great.
Im using matte primer nad hydrating foundation and i have combo skin. It is PERFECT, i can deffinitely recommend it.

My skin is TERRIBLY dry (I also have eczema as well) and it's a pain in the ass for me to find a foundation that end up not triggering my eczema and even allergic conjunctivitis sometimes

I really like the vlog style check-ins! It helps me get a better idea of how the foundation (and any other tested product) looks in different lighting conditions, which is big for me. I generally watch reviews/wear tests when I'm looking for products that I can wear all day/from work to errands etc, which means I need to know whether the product is workable in awful fluorescent light, sunlight, you name it lol. The vlog check-ins are so clutch!

Nyma! you should try the rituel de fille concealer. They have a really dark concealer that may be a countour. Also their Inner glow creme pigment as countour
