Mister Jizmester Its nothing like Dragon Ball, only thing that’s similar is the main character but even then they’re still very different and it’s also similar because both are shonen.
Don't be. That was some hectic times for the fans. The chats, forums, and any other communication boards were buzzing for days after each episode. Even if barely anything happened, we were on our toes trying to predict what happened. It was amazing times. At the end, all of us got everything wrong. Blackbeard is too much of a beast, we did not expect him to roll up like that and take Pop's powers. We also didn't expect Ace to die. The current arc is the same. Everyone on reddit is going nuts trying to predict the outcome. We're so traumatized by Blackbeard there's still a lot of us that's convinced he's going to show up on Wano. Most of us OG's are also convinced a strawhat might die this arc.
I ve start watched last year, and I stopped at the sage where Ace die (430... More or less). It's one of the best shonen, but not the best. And I think I could said a lots of things that I hated of this Anime and others that I loved. (I'm not a Dragon Ball fan) Other animes: Fullmetal Alchemist and Hunter x hunter. For me are shorter shonens than One Piece and have a good storie that equal the storie of One Piece. Obviously the lore of one Piece is bigger because it's a longer Anime and it had more time to show his world, (map, government, marine, territory organization, legendary capitans...). Sorry for my English.
@@adaplay13 The writer of hxh can't be asked anymore plus it doesn't have enough top tier fights, fullmetal alchemist is just enjoyable but can't compete with one piece

@@adaplay13 Why are you comparing the story to HxH when you watched less than half of the story? As someone who watched both to completion, One Piece's story is definitely better. It has many of the greatest unsolved mysteries in modern fantasy.
I'm somehow tearing up even now just by reading this.. I can't believe One Piece has caused me to care about a freaking boat so much... But Merry was a valiant member of their crew. Whenever somebody mentions there's only so and so official members of the Straw Hat crew, i have to remind them of Merry ;_;
All the episodes before the 2 year time skip were golden. so many memories from 2017 when I binge watched the first 520 episodes in 6 months as an 8th grader
I binge watched all of OP *when it was at about 900 episodes* in about 2 to 3 months, by the time i was done i think i caught up to it by episode 916 or something
I've watched a lot of anime, but One Piece, despite it's length, is the one that stands out the most in my memory. So many amazing and gut-wrenching scenes. I started watching it when I was 12 and I'm 18 now. It's been quite a journey.
almost same, started watching when I was 10 just before 4th grade would start during the summer holidays 2012 and now i'm almost finished with the 2nd year of high school in sweden and am still watching this masterpiece. One Piece truly the GOAT.
Same during quarantine i was watching one piece and I was getting bored of it so planed on dropping the series entirely by episode 5 but I gave it another chance and now I’m on episode 942
same here . i think robin has the most touching backstory in the anime especialy whene she had to laugh while crying as a kid . i love her developent and her weirdness . my favourite character after zoro
It's worth giving it a shot. Give it around 30-40 episodes. If you're not interested by that point then you may not enjoy the series but if you're willing to keep at it. You will not regret it. Sure the pacing of the anime can drag a bit but the journey itself is worth it. Hope you start it
Also, one last thing, DON'T GOD DAMN CUT BLACKBEARD OFF when he says "Isn't that so?" [そうだろう (soo da rou)]. It adds so much to the scene. Like the fact that Luffy and himself have a common value which shows that he is a villain the spectators can root for. He is more likeable.
@@ForestWizardLookingForPotion I mean he didn't exactly invalidate it (except the rooting for part, that's _gone_ ). He still has those admirable ideals he shares with Luffy. And he can be friendly to people, and weirdly likable. That hasn't changed. It's just been revealed that he's _also_ a horrible selfish person who doesn't put much value on the lives of others.

Toei has been making One Piece for 20 years and invests almost nothing in new soundtracks, another sign that the work is being explored, very regrettable.

I just recently binged from 1-929 back at the beginning of April due to quarantine cutting the anime lineup in half and it being a very rare chance to finally catch up while it was stopped. It just now occurred to me that I watched 20 years of anime history and I'm not sure how to feel about that.
On one hand, it conects you to a bunch of people who have joined this ride on these past 20 years. On the other hand, you can just be glad it was something worth watching lol
They might be more iconic or epic moments in the show, but for me, the Binks No Sake episode, is a master example of storytelling. The whole sequence of Brook telling Luffy his story, of how all of his former nakamas died, while he plays Binks no Sake and everybody is having a good time, is heartbreaking. And then, Luffy accepts to let him join the straw hats like is not a big deal, like "yeah sure", nothing important. But for Brook, it meant everything. He finally has friends again, and he will be able to fulfill his promise to Laboon. And then he cries, for the only time in the whole series. It was beautiful.
People don’t really appreciate the randomness of One Piece, the usually point to jojo (which is weird) as the weird anime. One piece has a villain that’s ability is to turn into a giraffe and propel his nose at a deadly speed.
TheSteakDrake I think it's mostly because One Piece completely builds itself as a fantasy world, where JoJo is set in the real world with the inclusion of weird things. In JoJo, you see these weird people and weird Stands interact with completely normal people and real-life environments, so it sticks out more than a world where everything is weird. I do agree with you, but that's just my thought on why it's like that.
in JoJo they get abilities from arrows, made from space rock, in one piece, someone goes "ima eat this weird fruit", then a couple years later they send some action figure sized clown immune to swords 7 islands over
I both can and can't at the same time. At this point, I feel as though One Piece has been with me for so long that if it ends, I will lose a part of myself

Me in high school 10 years ago
hahaha i happy i didn't have to wait , but now i am waiting for the episodes , & you know what's gonna happen now in OP ;) , big thing

Honestly people who refuse to see One Piece bc is “too long” are missing one of the best animes in history.
I ve start watched last year, and I stopped at the sage where Ace die (430... More or less). It's one of the best shonen, but not the best. And I think I could said a lots of things that I hated of this Anime and others that I loved.
(I'm not a Dragon Ball fan)
Other animes: Fullmetal Alchemist and Hunter x hunter.

Watch 20 more
They might be more iconic or epic moments in the show, but for me, the Binks No Sake episode, is a master example of storytelling.
PREACH
It's one of my favorite eps too Matias. Such a great storytelling moment.
What @Micheal Turner said
lol OP is weird but not random.........Oda knows exactly what he's doing.
