  • The Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf Film Archive is housed at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London where Fürer-Haimendorf was Professor. The 16mm cine footage was digitised by Digital Himalaya Project staff www.digitalhimalaya.org. It shows Khumjung, Thame Mani Rimdu, Khumjung, and then Gokyo, and Tengboche.     This footage goes from Khumjung, to Thame Mani Rimdu, to Khumjung, then Gokyo, and Tengboche. Haimendorf used to meet various of us working in Khumbu when he would visit Nepal in the 1980s. He gave me prints of many of these photos in 1987 to use in the Sherpa Cultural Centre at Tengboche.
