A great watch with a very knowledgeable guide. The kind of person I'd like along on all my walks - together with a birder/naturalist/archaeologist/geologist etc.😒 Though sometimes walking on my own is the best way! What a great legacy the nursery has left. Thanks Richard and David
Thank you! I've just started to develop an interest in identifying tree species and its good fun to see a couple of blokes rambling about in the woods looking at trees.
Growing up in London all my life, I yearn to be outdoors in nature, learning about and connecting with this home we call Earth. I must be getting old...
thank you, David - really nice to see/hear an expert share his (or her) knowledge! thank you, Richard - your interaction with your viewers is such an integral part of this channel and it is appreciated!
Very good Knaphill woodland Richard, David was very good, would like to see more like that. My back ground was horticulture. Was good seeing English woodland. Robert, Nz
Absolutely brilliant more David please Richard , I enjoyed seeing the redwoods especially , I ve spent a lot of time in California and the redwoods there are something to behold , this is a subject I’d like to learn more about !
You know you've encountered a real expert when the latin term comes more readily than the common name...you really need to introduce Julia to David! Thanks as ever Dave
Redwoods.grow in Northern CA & the SW corner of OR. They prefer coastal mountains, except where the Sequoias National park trees grow near the Sierra Nevadas. The tallest one recorded is 379 ft tall & they live 100's of yrs. It is quite spectacular to stand in a forest of them. The ones in the Red Wood National Forest/Park it takes several people to put their arms around to hug. Julia would be in heaven!!!🌲
Myself& a few work mates planted about 300 trees last year around urban areas! We did a walk round few weeks back lucky if 20 remained. Frustrating as fk😡
Please bring David back for another video. Smiled all through your video. It was so beautiful with the sun coming through the leaves.
So pleased you enjoyed it Ann. I am sure David will come back for another video.
Wow! A man who really knows his acorns from his conkers! What an informative video with such a knowledgeable guide. Move David please ...
Noted and I shall bend his arm to get him back!

Yes the man is correct the grounds were planted by a famous family of growers and nurserymen by the name of Waterer
You learn something every day!
Hi where I can find indigo/Azadrachat tree in Uk ,I really need for treatments
At no point when I started watching this did I expect you to say “this tree is soft enough to punch if you wanted to impress your girlfriend”. 🤣
Interesting, but I would still need to carry a book around with me, there are just too many trees [thankfully].....
Yes, I know what you mean - I cannot keep up with the many species!
I hjave an I Spy book of trees from the 1960s I still use today to identify trees !
If only kids did that today!
How come poor old hazel didn't get a look in?
4:07 would yew like to comment on that?
😍😍😍😍😍
