    Great video! Actually, it’s perfect - for content and delivery and no music! Thanks so much.

    Thanks for a very nice and informative video about the problems you may have if you do not have the proper adjustments in your machine when doing Couching. In my case, I do free hand couching on my Bernina B830LE. It doesn't have any specifi couching designs, so I have to do them myself, and I do so using water soluble pencils on the fabric. The foot I am using is actually a PFAFF couching foot adapted to Bernina mount,and the guide I use for the yarn is from the vertical stand. I set the feed dog down, set the stitches to zig zag with a width of 1.5 mm, and the thread I use is a 40-50 wt thread and same color as the yarn I am using, and the yarn is either 3 or 4 . So far I have never encountered the problems of stitches failing to hold the yarn, and all my projects, about 9-10 so far are finished excellently. I do not have to move the needle to either side because the zig zag motion guarantees the stitch to hit the yarn. But I see that this Brother feet is different and requires the needle to be at the left of the opening for the stitching to be successful on this automatic operation. My question is, do you have to do the same operation of needle left if you are doing free hand couching instead? I am just asking because I am interested in this machine or the PFAFF because of the ability of creating couching motifs, something I do not have on my Bernina. Thanks again for your excellent video!!!!!!

    If you lose the wire yo can buy the loop type plastic dental flossers that work great for pulling yarns through the needle. You can get a large pack for a few dollars at Walmart.

    Thanks Terry. I've done 2 designs and I'm almost there. I think I just need to move the needle a tiny bit more. 🤗

    Do you hoop a stabilizer when couching?

    Love your videos! I know the machine comes with couching designs but it would be great to be able to digitize some of your own if that is possible. Would love a video on how to create your own couching designs in palette 11!

    Thank you Terry, great video. Leaf looks so nice!
    I'm wondering if it can be done around a leaf applique. Same leaf appliqued with fall fabric and couch around.

      Rosario Chavarria - this is a digitized design. If you had PE Design 11 Software, you could import the design, create an applique then do the coaching. You do not have this Shape to create an applique on the machine.

    Beading needles that are flexible with COLLAPSIBLE EYES may be helpful if you lose your little wire thing.

    What is the difference between the Luminaire Play book and the manual?

    • @terrymaffitt4012
      @terrymaffitt4012  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cynthia Farris - the Playbook has step by step exercises. You can tell it was written by an educator versus someone who writes technical manuals and knows nothing about sewing. It also includes videos (no audio) showing how to do each lesson.

      @@terrymaffitt4012 Thanks my Shero. I guess the playbook is for me then.
