I always had one question about this:
Why make panels, cut them ,stitch them again?
Why not keep them as is without cutting?
Could you please calrify?
Yeah you're right, it seems lot of work 🤔 but Panels allow you to add up as much Volume as you want & by volume I mean Flare or Ghera which is not possible otherwise, In this Pattern I used 6 Panels, you can increase the number of panels as per your Pattern like Anarkali..... Hope this will clear your doubt 😊
@@Stalkmycloset Agreed. But in this tutorial, you have not added any new panels. So then, why first cut and then rejoin what we have cut, if there are no additions?

I told you to add volume, there is a limit to give a line shape without adding panels & I had given you technical point because that's why I used Panels in the video, to get more flare within the available quantity of fabric , it can also be added as designing purpose,you know mix & match of plains, prints.... lots of factors are need to be considered, Pattern, Fabric Quantity, Print of Fabric & moreover your Personal Choice....
Hi Jyotsna, This used to be my doubt too, but then I started using this to make lovely flare dress/Kurtis etc. To simply explain it is that you can add any lace or piping on the edge of panel to highlight the panels or different fabric/prints/ even pockets to the panels, instead of the same one, or increase the panel width on hips to get more flare, you just need to copy this pattern on paper and then do the necessary changes.

I have a question...when u are marking measurements for panels u didn't leave 1/2 inch seam allowance that u had asked to leave while cutting those panels...that's if u are marking mid points for cutting panels plus 1/2 inch should also be taken into account,right?

Thanks a lot Jasna, I kept seam allowance while cutting only, I didn't add it while marking mid points & it won't make much difference, I mean right way is to cut Pattern without seam allowance on paper & add seam allowance while cutting on the fabric which I have shared in old video, this was just quick version for panel dress, & as I said in video leave extra seam allowance on the sides of dress or kurti whatever you'll make so that we can adjust measurements after sewing panels, hope it makes sense 😊
