Worked in a farm machinery shop for a few years. We just cut off the remaining cutting edge along with the steel underneath, bolt and nuts too. Throw all that on the rockpile. Weld a new piece of flat-bar on the edge, drill it and bolt on your new cutting edge. Easy as pie.
Thanks for another great video Brian. It was interesting and enjoyable. Busy day in the shop. Rebuilding the bucket on the JCB. How did it get so bent up already?? You father in law did a great job of helping with that project. Looks real nice after you all reworked it. Nice. Rebuilding the seeding wheels on the new planter. What was the problem there??? Believe you said you had to put new shims and spacers in the planting wheels. What was they not doing right?? That planter was new. Nice work for what ever you all did to it. Busy day in the shop fixing things. That is farming for you. Thanks for everything Brian. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve
It’s a good thing you got your father in law to come out on that bucket. Otherwise Bob woulda had to go medieval on it. Hope planting goes great for you guys
Off the wall question, see the clip on your pocket, what pocket knife is your choice??? Im a Kershaw fan, have probably had to give 3 up at the airport in the last five years, habit, get dressed, wallet, keys, pocket knife...
So when the ground gets hard how are you suppose to keep those units in the ground if you can take a floor jack and jack them up without moving the entire bar that they mount on?
You don't. Anything that has rubber torsion springs is complete garbage. Won't hold depth precisely at all, especially with age. It's a terrible design. Just like all the speed discs, set them for 5 inches and you get two inches and bouncing. The Germans are dumber than us. Springs, air, and hydraulics give consistency, rubber weiners do not. And they will walk left to right at times but horsch may have theirs captured better. It's overpriced garbage. Just like their points do 10,000 acres and are actually shot at 200.
Need some gear wrench or ratcheting wrenches on those tighter ones. Looks like you're eating good with the kitchen in the shop. Hope all is going well with the family and new house as well.

Row units could be bent from when you backed up with them in the ground. I’d measure every one and see if they’re on center or not
Didn’t you back this air seeder up in the ground?
That may have happened.
Thanks for another great video Brian.

great video Brian .. Great job guys
Enjoy watching your videos.👍
You can slacken the clamp around the rubbers on the coulter units and move them to fix spacing , our horsch pronto sometimes does the same .
And that is why you built that table like that. Smart.
Great Video Brian, the issues with the wheels and the "gaps" are strange considering the reputation of Horsch equipment, thanks for sharing
Good stuff. Food spread looked so yummy.
What a beautiful shed 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice warm and dry makes more productive for sure, greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Nice morel haul. I only found 10 this year!
Great awesome video Brian ,
Thanks 👍
Great video!
Great video Brian thanks, always educational
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ll wave as I pass by your place this Saturday morning 👋🏼 (only because I don’t have the energy to stalk y’all 😂)
Your viewers giving you no breaks, Brian, reminding that you backed that planter while in the ground...it's because they care. 🤣
Mmmhmm 😅
He didn't back up with the planter in the ground, it was the actor playing him. Great video as always
Would hope they make good on sll that, since the machine is like new.
Wonder if you bent the units last year with the little hiccup... and as I typed you said just that.
Off the wall question, see the clip on your pocket, what pocket knife is your choice??? Im a Kershaw fan, have probably had to give 3 up at the airport in the last five years, habit, get dressed, wallet, keys, pocket knife...
No particular brand. I break or lose them often but I believe the one I have now is a sog
great video
Thanks for the visit
Greetings from Bangladesh ❤❤❤❤💯💯💯

Thanks! Will do!
Good video.
Glad you enjoyed it
i would say that you are loving the new shop
Yep
BJ, thought it was funny to spin us around. Makes sense from someone who’s still a football fan.
0:35 Cutting edge technology right at the beginning of the video! 😁
👍
I did not think that bucket off the JCB was that old…. Surprised to see that kind of issue already.
Who makes that little sprayer in the background?
Unverferth
Are you folks going to plant less corn and more beans this year ?

Didn't you back that up while down last year. The Row units might be bent??
After fixing 48 rows, maybe 4 ,6, or 8 wouldn't be so bad!!!
Amazing Shop. Really like the Gear Wrench box full of tools. Have a link for it?
🇨🇦😊
thanks for the video .
How many acres do y’all have on the Avatar currently?
Probably 5k
Thanks BJ for turning my stomach! Good place to keep your cell phone. Back pocket ready to sit on.
Bj who the Bengals draft first ?
Holy hell BJ you trying to make us sick going round and round 😂😂😂😂
We talked to our seed guy/crop consultant today and we'll be starting to plant around May 10 if things go well, we're mainly a wheat/cotton farmer.
Hello!
Thats not warranty?
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Use a crow foot.
I just got a email from Craftsman showing there thinner ratchets they have.
We run a poly aftermarket gauge wheel now.
Much longer lifespan
Lunch looked deeelectable! Be on the lookout. With that many bad rubbers there could be little Avatars popping up all over the place.😈

24 mm and 15/16 are very close.
That has to be just about the worst cutting edge mounting system I have ever seen!!.....Glad to see you using normal thru bolts to re install.
Just say buck it and truck it
No matter the brand, there’s always spring maintenance to do before you go to the field!!
Two things learned in this video.. JCB buckets are weak, don’t buy an avatar..
Mornin
Shim, I thought you were being politically correct?
thx
How’s your Dad doing these days?
Good
