Another brilliant and helpful video. Your videos have given me the confidence to successfully tackle jobs on my Mini that I just wouldn't been able to. Your a real star. If you didn't live 500 miles away, I would insist on buying you a couple of pints. Just keep right on making the best Mini content on TH-cam.

Great job - another thing to remember is to line up the hole on the drive assembly and make sure it is in-between wheel studs so that you can get the split pin in! Guess how I know this...:-)

😳 never seen someone snip one end of the cotter pin. I’ve always been told to spread it out.

Normally yes but when there is nowhere for it to go and a risk of it fouling moving parts i chose to snip it

whats the torque spec (in lbs) for this hub nut or castle nut? Thanks

Good but what torque is it now at since you loosened it part way? Not better to go for lowest torque rating then tighten to find a hole for the split pin?

Could do, i torqued to the higher rrange setting and loosened very slightly but yeah could torque to lower range and then tighten. Not easy to see from the camera but the hole was closer to the way i did it

Torque seems a bit high, I was told 150lbf.ft?

Ignore me just educated myself. Disc brake models:
      With multiple split pin holes in driveshaft . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 207Nm
      With single split pin hole in driveshaft . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 255 to 270Nm
