"No one seems *incentivized* to stop the suffering" is a line that will keep me up for a long time to come.
Actually there is plenty of incentive to stop the suffering. Like in every war in human history, the losing side gives up and pleads for peace. But in this war, one side hates the jews so much, they are refusing to do the obvious.
It is what the great Greta wants. Humans causes climate change. Reduction of human life leads to more resources for others and less climate change.
@@redscar183this has little to do with hate (from either side) and everything to do with the military-industrial-complex keeping the fire burning.

@@redscar183 One side has nearly all the power (and is backed by the USA who could end this thing in a day by sanctioning Israel); that same side rejected ceasefire even if it meant hostages returned; that same side has an obvious colonialist agenda that includes ethnic cleansing; the same side that is also run by a Zionist strongman who will never accept a 2 state solution.
The other side are the Palestinians. Including 10,000+ children murdered in the name of 'fighting terrorism'.

Palestine does not have the support of the larger Arab world because it's leaders are seeking profits and hold lucrative relationships with the United States. Western powers (US and Britain) are the backbone of this conflict hold leverage over many parties in the region. Israel is a colony of the US.
Additionally, the solution should not only be a conversation about *peace* it's a conversation about justice. You misspelled Genocide
There was no courage in his mockery of an ongoing genocide, he dodged to make any tough statement. I used to like him, a long time ago, very dissapointed now.
@@SashaArsic I did not see any mockery, I saw a man who attempted to educate the masses in as unbias a way as possible by using humor to entertain people while educating them. This segment combined with the subsequent interview illustrated to me that it is the Gazans who are the primary sufferers of the ongoing conflict. Further, he made it clear that both Israel and Palestinian leadership have no real intention of ending the conflict or coming to any sort of agreement given that they both do not support the other's existence at this point, which is ultimately an impossible place to start when attempting to negotiate any two-state future given that both countries have significant populations making it entirely unrealistic to support the non-existence of the other. He also supported a DMZ with the help of other Arab countries. In my opinion, the segment illustrated that the populations are suffering as a result of their leadership, particularly the leadership using conflict to maintain their power at the cost of innocent lives.
Concerning dodging a tough statement, in addition to what is mentioned above, he made it clear that Israel should stop bombing and Palestine should release the hostages. I am not sure what more of a statement could be made other than suggesting that certain people on both sides should be convicted of war crimes for their atrocities, which I believe should occur in the future; however, what is most important right now is ending the loss of life and any threat of coercion on leadership could be a deterrent to that. If you are willing to suggest a statement he should have made, I would happily, consider it, particularly if it would support a path forward that is in the realm of possibility.

Agreed! I don’t think the founders ever imagined that the victors of WWII could become complicit in genocide. Here we are. You can’t challenge the U.S. (or by extension Israel), Russia, or China. Almost impunity through veto. It makes the UN so ineffective. It’s heartbreaking.
It's a feature of the UN, it is not a bug.
Think about it: would ***any*** of the five super-powers that existed at the end of WW2 agree to a United Nations system if there was ***any*** chance that this UN system could be used against them?
Answer: No. None of them would have.
So the price of them agreeing to a United Nations (and, remember, the UN was their creation) was that they (a) had a permanent membership of the Security Council and (b) no Security Council resolution would pass if they opposed it.

Well said, thank you.
We need more coverage like this in the media.
Didn't the US repeatedly veto the otherwise unanimous call for a cease-fire? Huh.
This is correct. Biden is a self-professed Zionist, and that is a MAJOR issue that reveals him as a contemptible human being. Which I can't lay entirely at his feet because a huge swath of people in power (or vying for power) in this country's government feel the same way. Neither of the monsters in the Presidential election will condemn Israel and neither of them want a two-state solution to this problem. So the USA is being dragged into supporting this war.
it's one of a massive number of deeply systemic issues that have rotted America to its core.
yes, and the U.S. is also actively engaged in multilateral ceasefire negotiations.
it doesn't make sense...Blinken, what are you trying to do?
They also proposed their own cease-fire call - which included the release of the hostages - and were shut down. What now?
wow. he's back. presenting the Daily Show. I'm not in the US; didn;t see this coming
Love having Jon back
There seems to be plenty money for ROCKETS and TUNNELS
Jon Stewart has always been a leading light for me since the 90’s. Delighted he is back
He still advocates for sterilizing children. He's a sneaky monster.
😂 he is you dadddy
@@mad-mullah3117Thanks for your 12-year-old input…

You are very welcome I'm not 12 and you are shamless fan boy
He is one of the same people who lives in Israel
And who vetos the UN resolutions of a cease fire ?
Everyone, depending on the conditions attached to said presented ceasefire.
@@dalel3608it's been just one nation in the last resolution. The United States.
the peaceful revolution of the Palestinian / Israel issue asking for the withdrawal to 1967 lines is voted against by the USA and Israel for the past 30 years against most of the rest of the world in the general assembly@@dalel3608
Russia and China as shown in the clip.
It's always Russia and China vetoing everything in the U.N.
@@Shahaneh It's not ture. Jon misleaded you.
We need somebody to enforce peace and love everywhere.
John Stewart making politics tolerable again...man what a refreshing change to hear him again!
In the dark and hopelessness moment for the region, Jon Stuart brought some needed humor with heavy dose of truth. Thank you!!
He dodged the real issue. The US is funding a genocide.
This was selective truth which is no truth at all.
It’s Jon Stewart😅
@@web-angelwhat’s your truth?
Humor is the balm against crazy.
The "don't stay up all night" line is incredible 😅
I guess my favourite was "Israel, take it down a notch..." How does he even make that voice ? :D
Died laughing at this part 😂😂😂😂
Comedy gold. Just as long as we don't naively consider it reality.
Power of wisdom
This is why I love Jon and Stephen they are great on what they do they are not only comic but well informed about the world rather they do research themselves or have staff helping them because that what makes them unique they push the right buttons ,get away with it and still get the real story out and truth to all of us I will never stop seeing them ever
This is so amazing to have Jon back on this show. Thanks to everyone involved!
this is one big shining moment in the whole week. thank you.
verdadero mucho gracias
Let’s goooo , keep it going John 👍🏻😁
The fact that so many people love and comment on Jon Stewart gives me hope.
I find it the opposite.
@@Elisheval Sorry 4 you.
Same. The people who hate him always tend to be the crazed partisans who violently hate anyone not completely on their side. Those people are the terminally online and do not represent the average person anyway.
