Actually there is plenty of incentive to stop the suffering. Like in every war in human history, the losing side gives up and pleads for peace. But in this war, one side hates the jews so much, they are refusing to do the obvious.

@@redscar183 One side has nearly all the power (and is backed by the USA who could end this thing in a day by sanctioning Israel); that same side rejected ceasefire even if it meant hostages returned; that same side has an obvious colonialist agenda that includes ethnic cleansing; the same side that is also run by a Zionist strongman who will never accept a 2 state solution.
The other side are the Palestinians. Including 10,000+ children murdered in the name of 'fighting terrorism'.
I don't condone what Hamas does or the horror they bring onto Israeli civilians, but Israel's carpet bombing response has gone beyond despicable.

Western powers (US and Britain) are the backbone of this conflict hold leverage over many parties in the region. Israel is a colony of the US.
Additionally, the solution should not only be a conversation about *peace* it's a conversation about justice. @JonPower123 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@SashaArsic I did not see any mockery, I saw a man who attempted to educate the masses in as unbias a way as possible by using humor to entertain people while educating them. This segment combined with the subsequent interview illustrated to me that it is the Gazans who are the primary sufferers of the ongoing conflict. Further, he made it clear that both Israel and Palestinian leadership have no real intention of ending the conflict or coming to any sort of agreement given that they both do not support the other's existence at this point, which is ultimately an impossible place to start when attempting to negotiate any two-state future given that both countries have significant populations making it entirely unrealistic to support the non-existence of the other. He also supported a DMZ with the help of other Arab countries. In my opinion, the segment illustrated that the populations are suffering as a result of their leadership, particularly the leadership using conflict to maintain their power at the cost of innocent lives.
Concerning dodging a tough statement, in addition to what is mentioned above, he made it clear that Israel should stop bombing and Palestine should release the hostages. I am not sure what more of a statement could be made other than suggesting that certain people on both sides should be convicted of war crimes for their atrocities, which I believe should occur in the future; however, what is most important right now is ending the loss of life and any threat of coercion on leadership could be a deterrent to that. If you are willing to suggest a statement he should have made, I would happily, consider it, particularly if it would support a path forward that is in the realm of possibility.

Think about it: would ***any*** of the five super-powers that existed at the end of WW2 agree to a United Nations system if there was ***any*** chance that this UN system could be used against them?
Answer: No. None of them would have.
So the price of them agreeing to a United Nations (and, remember, the UN was their creation) was that they (a) had a permanent membership of the Security Council and (b) no Security Council resolution would pass if they opposed it.

Totally agree. After he glossed over that my interest in watching plummeted. Also that tiny sound bite from the Hamas leader doesn't mention that they with the help of Qatar suggested another ceasefire & hostage release weeks back which Netanyahu rejected because he already intended to invade Rafah.

European powers carved up land and fractured ethnic and religious groups to suit their colonialist/imperialist needs during the Scramble for Africa and after both World Wars. They systematically grouped historically opposed groups together so that they would struggle amongst each other rather than fight the colonial powers controlling them.

This is correct. Biden is a self-professed Zionist, and that is a MAJOR issue that reveals him as a contemptible human being. Which I can't lay entirely at his feet because a huge swath of people in power (or vying for power) in this country's government feel the same way. Neither of the monsters in the Presidential election will condemn Israel and neither of them want a two-state solution to this problem. So the USA is being dragged into supporting this war.
